Eiji saw Tao lying on the ground a sprint away, he also saw the atrocities that had knocked Tao out waiting for the others. Gritting his teeth, he dove under them firing off 6 shots, 2 for each and landed next to Tao, winded, but alive. Fumbling with his gun, he put it back in the holster. His breath shook. This was seriously no longer funny, in even the remotest sense. It was almost as if Durant had seen their last battle here and had improved everything, and had counted on Site B's cockiness to get the best of them...
"Well, damn it, that ain't going to happen!" he muttered as he slowly got to his feet and brushed himself off. "Ready, when you are Ksrugi..."

Tao twitched on Ksrugis back. His arm shook violently and his body went into a spasm. He managed to wriggle awkwardly from the grip of Ksrugi and onto the ground.
His nose still bleeding- he vomited blood, pure crimson tides washed from his mouth and onto the steel steps of the stairwell. Then it stopped. Everything ceased- Tao froze for a moment. His body utterly motionless. Then a piercing scream burst from his mouth amidst a gargling- the sound of noise breaking through a mouth filled with blood . His eyes now totally black, no white, no red vessels- just deep soul less black. His veins perfectly obvious through his pale skin- black veins- pumping black blood through white. Taos lips seemed to darken, a deep dark purple.
He gripped his sides, screaming once again as he attempted to stand up. A crunching, cracking noise shattered into the atmosphere of the building. Ribs breaking.
"GRAAHHHHH!"
Tao lunged towards the wall, his body slamming into it. He once again fell to the ground, spluttering- mumbling. Then it stopped again. He lay there, folded double over. The transformation seemed to have stopped for the moment. His voice perfectly calm, almost sounding enlightened, his hands trembling he spoke.
"This isnt the right time... not now..."

Ksrugi lost his balance as Tao tried to wriggle out and he fell down the stairwell, landing at the body with a sickening crunch. Oh yeah, he thought, can someone say concussion? Ksrugi watched Tao with utter fascination, wondering the the hell his friend had been doing to himself. Certainly not another experiment gone awry, not here!
But then Ksrugi realized that he wasn't doing too well either. And the monsters were bound to come in a stronger force. But he couldn't get up, he couldn't move his legs. They just wouldn't cooperate. He propped himself up on a wall and just waited, the others were bound to come.
But then, he noticed something slithering along the ground. It was simply a cool, blue mass that moved with a sort of intelligence. Ksrugi broguht his gun up with a weak hand to fire as it got too close, but it easily dodged his bullet. It was now only a foot away and Ksrugi couldn't do anything about it. Then, it spread itself and engulfed Ksrugi, like a blanket forming around a small child. Ksrugi felt a burst of pain from every single pore on his body, every single orifice burned with intense anguish, and then it stopped.
Ksrugi stood and holstered his gun, the fear from a moment ago gone. He was about to go back up the stairwell, but then he noticed it. In his mind, another presence, the blue mass had settle within him. And it was keeping its thoughts in sync with Ksrugi.
"What is this thing?"
"I am subject V-3403. I believe you are the one that set me free? Yes...I can see your memory of it here. Thank you, it was awfully stifling in that box."
"What do you want with me?"
"I'm here to help you. In return for freeing me, I'm yours until the day we die."
"We?"
"Yes, we. You and I are now bonded together, in body and mind. If one dies, the other dies."
"Well I hope you can fight then."
"Don't worry, I can help with that too. And you won't have to go to the ER anymore. I can heal you, I can increase your reaction speed to three times the human norm, your physical strength is a tad stronger, and you have another fifty years added to your life span."
Ksrugi was awestruck by this, what? Oh, a symbiote? It was feeding him information now and his brain consumed it with vigor. And, the exchange only took a few moments. Their thoughts were instantaneous, their conversations would sure start and end in a hurry.

Eiji was shaking Ksrugi "K! K!!! Can you hear me, what happened, are you okay?!" Casting a look at the still writhing Tao, Eiji cursed. "Hitsuzen, fate. What fate do we, do I have? I wonder..."

Taos eyes moved slowly to Eiji, he could hear his heart, he could sense something inside Eiji. Like it was his blood pulsing through his veins.
"There is no fate. No fate for us. We are the eternal. We will always be. Existing just outside of the grasp of a normal life. That is what it is for us to share the history we have had Eiji."

731 stood in the empty hall. She hadn't meant to fall asleep. She turned around only to be greeted by another creature.
"Oh..."
731 had barely spoken when it grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the floor. She scratched and clawed at the monster to let her go. She couldn't breathe. Her vision was starting to dim.

Eiji looked out the tinted dull window at the rain outside and laughed, a harsh, bitter laugh. "Indeed, eternally damned you mean..."
Eiji's ears pricked up from the sound of an 'oh' and a thump
"731?? H-ello?"

Taos blackened eyes gazed across the corridor, his senses heightened by not only fear but the change inside him. Finally the disease he had hidden for so many years had caught up with him. Something which not a single person had known about, nobody. He had only ever told his wife- even then he had let himself become seriously ill before he finally revealed what was going on.
"We have something to do. We cannot let anything stand in our way."
Tao cracked his fingers as he looked at the shattered group, his eyes were empty, as if all feeling for the people he once knew so well had been lost. With a glimpse he took off up the stairwell moving at tremendous speed...

Bono watched as Tao took off up the stairs and followed.
"COME ON GUYS! I THINK TAO MIGHT KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON AND WHERE DURANT IS!"
He reloaded both is pistols and headed up the next flight of stairs.

Tao bounded up the corridor, his eyes glazed and shiny, seeing almost perfectly in the dim corridors, taking in, with greatest of ease, every detail, every little aspect of every little pattern on every little section of every wall. His breathing did not increase, his heart rate perfectly normal, not even breaking a sweat he was almost two floors above the others before he realised how far he had gone in such little time. He paused and looked around,
"Dorms#13"
He read the gold panel on the twin set doors and then looked back down the stairs, maybe a quick look around, he might find something useful...

Bono looked behind him. "COME ON YOU GUYS! WE HAVEN'T ALL DAY!"
he turned back round and attempted to keep up with Tao.
"Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil..."
he cocked his pistol...

Ksrugi started as he heard Bono's voice calling to the others. It was strange, Bono was a few floors up, but his voice sounded clear as a bell. Ksrugi decided not to delve too deep into the effects of the symbiote, not yet anyway. There would be a time for examination after this escapade. Ksrugi drew his pistols and then bounded up the steps in pursuit of his friends.
The symbiote was doing something to him. Ksrugi felt as light as a feather, but as quick as lightning. His movements were more fluid and the old wounds on his body were giving him almost no grief. It was like he was eighteen again. His body was well, fit and lean and his mind was as sharp as ever.
This is just too good to be true, Ksrugi thought. Maybe it was.

Eiji froze in indecision "Damn!" he muttered to himself " Bono, you Tao and K go on, I'm going to go find 731!" And with that he took off a casual jog to where he'd last seen 731...

Seeing the creature holding 731, limp, send a cold shiver thru Eiji's body, mind, soul, and sanity. "That's it" grated a new voice that was Eiji's and another's at once "Indeed" Eiji replied in his regular voice, only it was suprisingly calm. "No more shall you stalk the night coward! Eiji and the other voice yelled at the beast "The darkness of night and shadow is my domain!!! Spirit Split!" And Eiji became two Eiji's that sped with a sword and a gun towards the creature. The creature only had time to look suprised, before it was splatter all over the floor, walls, and ceiling. The second Eiji nodded to the first and dissolved back into him saying 'We'll talk, later'. Eiji leaned over 731 and gently lifted her unconsious body up and started to walk down the hall, back to where the true beast lay...
