"A burden isn't what I'm worried about. But the potential for you being a spy is. And if your information is correct, that is a battle contingent. They won't be looking for us. Our proximity to a town is leading me to believe their plan of action is to assault it. If we were targets, a small force of strong adversaries would be the best suited for our defeat. Not trying to overwhelm us with weaklings. Either way, our job in the Sunset Isles in done and it's time we got back." She said, just as she began to walk away while looking down at her map.

Zhavajango nodded, but then something came to mind "Kasumi, wait...you don't think" He turned to Maaka "You said they want my Crest, right? That would mean.....damnit, Kasumi, we need to get to this town, and quickly. If I am correct, it is as you said, they will be assaulting the town, likely in an attempt to use the innocents of the town as hostage to take my Crest. I cannot allow innocent bloodshed because I was too hasty to care Please, Kasumi, we cannot let the people be subjected to this" He turned back to Maaka "You better pray you are a freak and not a spy, to be able to identify such an attack merely by using your sense of hearing, you are definitely no ordinary girl"

"Do you honestly think, that they won't just do the same damned thing to every town or city on this world once they acquire what they're seeking? Or any other for that matter. A few casualties in a war is to be expected. And will have to be accepted. We have a mission to accomplish, now. If you want to go run off and jeopardize it because you've never seen war before, then go ahead. Doom your home, doom our homes. Letting them die here is a much nicer fate than having them become subjugated as playing things for for the most twisted of the daedra, which will be their fate. So do you want to waste your time and doom our homes, or do you want to know these people didn't die in vain and that we were victorious? I will let you know this now, if you choose the former, I will not help you. You will die alone here, in vain." She stopped and looked back over her shoulder at him, hoping for a logical reaction.

Maaka frowned, but nodded "You are correct, though I daresay the outcome will be the same as earlier. They assaulted the Emperor earlier, and when Zhalavidra gave them her Crest upon their demanding of it, they pulled out and have not been back since. My sense of hearing far exceeds that of anyone, I can locate and count them just by the sounds they make. The element of sound is my friend, along with Vinyoo I can be quite a formidable opponent and an even better tactician. It is your decision, but, I also agree with Miss Kasumi, do not give it up so easily, because, The Black Star Nation may keep their word and pull out, but with your crest they will ahve all of the relics they need to bring about the End of everything, all existence."

Zhavajango sighed, but nodded "You're right, it would be foolish to give in so easily. They are probably expecting us to stick around and guard the place, then attempt to lure me into giving it up. No, I will head back, with you, Kasumi, I gave you my word I would follow your lead till this was all over, and it is yet far from it" He turned to the girl "Maaka, was it? If you'll be joining us, then let's all take our leave before the enemy arrives."

Maaka turned "Alright, cover your ears, or you will be knocked unconscious" She arced her neck, facing the direction of the enemy, and shrieked. The force of the soundwaves knocked down rocks, trees, and such. She could hear the sound of the enemy forces hitting the water do to a tidal wave caused by the tumult as well as their breath giving away their stunned nature. She turned, and saw as the birdman had fallen unconscious from her assault. She looked to Kasumi "Um, Miss Kasumi, perhaps we should leave him somewhere safe and go on without him?"

Zhavajango got up, slightly dazed "Damn chickie, be a little moree careful next time!" He patted himself down, and began to groan irritably "It's gone! Damnit, now it's gone, thanks to you!"

Zhavajango fell from Kasumi's back. "It's right here." She rummaged through her bag for a moment. She pulled her hand out and held the crest. "You think we're all as dumb as you? I took it to make absolutely sure it doesn't fall into the hands of our enemies. That means you're only getting it back when this conflict is over. Now stop beating yourself up, we have to get back as fast as possible."

Maaka listened closely "The air is stangnant. A little too much so. We should take caution, though we may be pressed for time. Kasumi, do you need a transport?"

Maaka formed a hand seal, and tapped a large tree with her fingers. A portal opened up in the trunk. "This will lead us back, I used this method to get in the first time."

Maaka smiled playfully "Perhaps" She stepped through along with Zhavajango. They emerged from the portal to find themselves in one of the main corridors of the sky fortress, having come out of one of the walls. "Well, here we are, I do hope your friends are alright"
