"Oh." She quietly let slip at his reply. Well, ok, maybe his past kind of sucked worse than her own now. Ritska sighs too, reaching up to run a hand through her hair again, a somewhat habit of hers when she was fighting with herself over keeping a distance or making a connection. At heart, she liked people, and was trusting, but she wasn't willing to take chances any more with trusting the wrong people. Sure, sometimes, like now, she got the feeling she was meeting an ok person, but then when it went wrong, well that just made it even worse. It really wasn't worth it, or so she tried to convince herself.
At his words, though, she listened a little, and shrugging, she actually engaged in conversation a little. "Yea, but renting a room in the mansion isn't as cheap as the tavern if you come and go often. So, the tavern can kind of be a long term place too, if you don't plan to stick around long, or aren't the type to stay in one place." She explains simply. "I have a room in the mansion, but its not really mine, so I'm going to the tavern." She adds, though she really didn't know why, as he hadn't even asked about it.

He nodded slightly. The affirmation of her surprise wasn't something that went unnoticed. She was clearly comparing heir lives. He hated to think about how his might really suck, and be a worst case scenario.
"I expected a higher price there, but, I really am not sure if I can get into the parts of the library that might have what I want." He frowned for a moment. "However, I'm about dog tired as one could be, mild pun intended." He pressed this out around a yawn, using the left gloved hand to cover his mouth.
"Why don't you stay in the other room if you have some partial right to it?" If anything else, this seemed like an honestly good question, and a chance to learn a bit about the kit.

Ritska wasn't quite sure how the pricing of rooms and access to sections of a library related, but she let it go without comment. After all, the first thing she'd done when arriving here had been to break into the library, so she obviously didn't know the rules related to the place. As he yawned, she glanced to him, almost, but not quite, smiling at the lame pun he had made. She was kind of warming up a bit to talking with him... then she heard his question. It was harmless, but the answer wasn't to her. Frowning a little and sighing, she glanced away again as she thought of answers. "Because I don't feel like it." She replies simply enough after a moment, which was true. She didn't feel like it, but then again, she didn't say why, which would have been the real answer. "Plus, the rooms are probably all locked up anyways." She adds with a shrug.

Faris couldn't help but grin over the fact that he'd gotten a twitch of a smile from her with his incredibly lame pun. "You are avoiding the real answer with half truths, dearie. Is there something that I should know? Or should I just shrug it off and be sure to lock up and hide my valuables?"
As they reached the edge of the outer gardens, he found himself yawning again. Long runs to and the fierce if however short tracking run around the grounds had tired him out. "Have you yet paid for your room?"

(EDIT)[+ Dude, I think I'm with Faris, on this. I'm dog tired, and I have school tomorrow. I'll be posting tomorrow, though. Promise. +]

Ritska noticed his grin and scowled a little, realizing that he'd seen her almost smiling at a stupid pun, of all things. And then she was scowling more, as she heard his reply. She didn't like it when people could see through her like that, though he was wrong on the last bit. "I'm not a thief... any more." She grumbles, ears flicking as she let that last part slip. But then again.... why not take it up again? It wasn't like anybody would give a crap. She didn't think either of her adopted parents were around here any more, and they weren't keeping tabs on her, that was for sure. Nobody would yell at her. "And don't call me dearie." She adds as an afterthought as they reached the edge of the gardens. Ritska looked around, taking in the familiar sights, and realized that this was where Raistlin had made her swear not to steal again from the Haven. But, then again, he was gone too. "No, I haven't." She replies, only half paying attention as she was thinking now.

(Ah ok. Heh... I still have homework to do XP )

Faris gave a small nod to the kitsune before passing the entrance to the tavern. "To be sure, I am better off with the mansion," He muttered to the space in front of him. "You take an oath, it is for life, dearie, and so, I shall be sure to continue learning." He gave her a half-heartened smile, thrown thoughtlessly over his shoulder. He used cutesy names for most of the women that claimed to be of lesser worth. Though for what reason, he could not be sure. He felt that his comment might have some worth to her, and had he watched her, he might have been proven right.
"I may seek you out for a conversation at a later point. Good evening to you then!" With a wave, he set a jog to the entrance.

As they reached the entrance to the tavern, she stopped there, watching him continue on towards the mansion proper. The latter was definitely nicer, and she really would be paying more to stay at the tavern... but honestly, what was she supposed to do? She wasn't returning to an empty home that wasn't really hers, no way.
Ritska sighs a little, then rolls her eyes at him as he calls her dearie again and tosses her another smile. As he waved, she raised her hand slightly, then turned towards the tavern entrance. However, for a moment she paused, his words finally sinking in about taking an oath. "What a load of crap." She mutters after a moment, wondering what he had meant. Did he mean he would continue learning about her... or had he taken his own oath to become educated? She hoped he meant the second. She wasn't a damn specimen to be studied and learned about. Shaking her head, she frowns, then steps forward, pushing the door open as she heads into the tavern.
