Gaia Online is an internet forum community. Its roots probably belong in anime, or was heavily influenced by anime, but today it has grown into something much more broad and general. Gaia Online is a community containing an infinite amount of sub-communities where people come to share ideas, opinions, comments and their own artistic abilities, whether it be in painting, in writing, or just thinking. You needn’t be an artist to enjoy Gaia however.
Here on Gaia, everyone is given an avatar, or a paperdoll to create to represent themselves. Those familiar with other online forums may know of avatars, but few other places have an avatar system like Gaia does! Your avatar is yours to dress however you like. Gaia does have a limited amount of items to put on your character, so you may not be able to dress them exactly how you want to, but Gaia’s item list is constantly growing. You can also suggest items you would like to see in the future! How cool is that?
Gaia is far from complete- in fact it is in its “alpha stage”, which basically means its infancy. It’s still very early in development, so many features are incomplete, or haven’t even been started yet! Gaia will continue to grow and grow as time goes by. Eventually, there may be games to play, or other things to do, but for now, we all converse. It’s more fun than you think. ^_~ Who knows, maybe you’ll become an addict like the rest of us?
Gaia is closing in on its “beta” testing stage. That means there will be more features like games, quests, more special events, and a lot more! But, it is still testing, meaning there will be bugs and bad things. But if you can over look them, you can have a great time here!
