Myranda frowned. By foot with humans? That could take some time. She glanced at her human, knowing the widow was in good shape for her kind... but still it would be better should they be able to get to this Imperial City faster. Trelweny herself seemed a little in shock that it sounded like their journey would be even longer, and the GaiaCom knew her thoughts were on her son and the others of her family left behind. "By foot will not matter much to you and I, Al Sylian. Doubtless the humans will tire first."

Although she had her reservations as to how human the man who had carried Mirror was the android was willing to go with his facade for now though his readings were different. "Is there a chance of obtaining one of these carriages? To speed the journey." From the side of her eyes Myranda could see her human perk up at that, looking a bit hopeful though Myr knew she was trying not to be a burden or difficult. No... difficult was the witch's job. Coral lips quirked in a cold smile. Just how she liked it. Casually she crossed her black gloved arms in front of her.

((If ye mean Shade by 'the man who carried Mirror', he actually is human...he just doesn't like to admit it, but at the same time is pretending to be one kinda...It's a bit convoluted. sweatdrop I should probably put his profile up again sometime...))

The Dark Lord bristled visibly, and then calmed himself. Myranda obviously had somehow failed to develop the respect that was his due.

"I am perfectly capable of walking such a meager distance, girl. Do not underestimae may capabilities..."

~She must be mentally deficient to not sense my strength and prowess...hopefully that will get through to her.~

"...
It might be best to take a carriage so that all may go at a quick pace though, yes? I wouldn't want to leave the rest of you behind, and peasants tire quickly, in my experience..."

It was with the words uttered by Shade that Roan's gaze shifted toward him. Once calm and otherwise indifferent they now contained a hit of hostility. Clearly the word 'peasant' was something that cut deep into the dragon's heart and he didn't appreciate the phrase or the manner in which Shade addressed his companions. As though arguing with himself internally he continued to remain silent until at last some side of him won the battle.

"On the contrary, it is the spoiled and arrogant creatures that tire first...Always relying on another to do their work for them, endurance is most certainly not a strong point."

With his words spoken he flicked his gaze back to the geisha who had, for the time being, been considering the words of each individual. To go by foot would be extremely painful for her, she was dainty and wore clothes ill suited to long travel. She would be the first to admit that but carriages were also expensive.

Thus she had little choice other than to respond in the way she did.

"If you desire a carriage sir, I suggest you cough up the gold for one."

Shade frowned just slightly. He might just be imagining it, but it almost seemed that Roan was offended by something he'd said--could it be that these peasants were his friends as well as that insufferable excuse for a ghost? it was hard to believe...but he had best be more careful in the future if he was to discover Roan's secrets, and those of his departed wife...

"Is that so, Sir Roan?"

Doing his best to be extra-charming, though he quite honestly didn't know which member of the party would be classified as a 'spoiled and arrogant creature', Shade smiled.

"My mistake then. Thank goodness that we are bereft of such characters, yes?"

Turning to the Geisha, his smile drew thin, though his voice stayed just as honeyed.

"I'm afraid that I do not currently have any of this 'gold', madam. I surely would eagerly donate to help our less dexterious friends, but in my homeland we don't use gold as a currency..."

Mirror gave a weak shrug. He obviously didn't have the means to pay for carriage when he couldn't even carry the weight of gold in his pocket now. He couldn't carry anything. In fact, he couldn't even carry his own hand since it would pass through his very leg.

"Carriage...Foot...Gold..." the ghost echoed after the argument got tossed back and forth between the members of the group, "I do not have the means to pay a carriage...But time is just as expensive, is it not?"

Myranda came just short of rolling her eyes. Living beings were sometimes such a trouble. As if she would have respect for any man... but she kept the rude retort at bay for now catching sight of Trelweny's wince at the words passed between the others. Confound it all! She always was too sensitive to others' emotions and it's still too soon after she was sucked into that psychic whatever that led to the Al Sylian becoming a spirit. Thank the makers my emotion chip does not send her any signals... The GaiaCom cast the others a baleful stare and then sighed in resignation. They had no gold either.

Uncrossing her arms Myranda took a black charm of a cauldron from a bracelet at her wrist and tossed it to the ground. A trail of magical light followed it for all but the most disbelieving of minds as she spoke. "Fine. Guess it's up to me."

The cauldron was growing... growing... until it was about mid-thigh to the android. Then ignoring the others she drew her runes in the air before casting them into the cauldron. Trelweny accustomed to her companion's conjurings was not watching but reaching into her bag and pulling out clothes suited to the climate here and putting them on over her others. More to stay the GaiaCom from reprimanding her that she had not then because she was cold.

When the last rune entered the cauldron there was a pause in visible magic though the air tingled lightly with what sounded like a tuning fork being struck. The cauldron's 'mouth' opened and out sprung a mechanical horse-drawn carriage-sled complete with an automatron 'driver' holding the reigns. Arching a brow Myr looked at the others and indicated the fair sized carriage. Her coral lips pressed in a fine line, her body language seeming to say: Well?

Trelweny smiled, though a bit shakily. "Thanks Myr." "Don't mention it. Now get inside." A single blink and Trel obeyed.

Akiya and Koni had been watching this curious. Of course, there was no way to miss a dragon floating about, but with his companions, it caused them to shift a brow. Since Koni wasn't the most social of people, he didn't know how any of them were. Akiya was familiar with some, though there were some changes to the ones he was more familiar with. But they looked over to Hayaharu. There she was.. so she had Reika and that bird. Koni's lips shifted into a smirk. Still hated that bird, whose name will never ever pass his own lips, but he was glad it was basically over for the most part. Reika wasn't in a trusting mood and right now, he knew she was mad at both of hem. So they'd have a lot of talking to do later.

Akiya was curious but watched the carriage that suddenly appeared from nowhere. He hoped that wasn't for everyone. He liked to walk, to be honest, or fly once he was out of obvious sight. What was the point of something like that? Koni also liked to walk. The train made him incredibly uneasy and being on solid ground made him more comfortable. If Akiya flew around then he'd ask him to carry him. And Reika fit into pockets so it wasn't like getting her around would be hard. But that also depended on if Hayaharu was about to give her up anytime soon. But when Akiya moved away from Koni, he watched him as he went over to the carriage and studied it. When it came to anything dealing with magic, the rather tall angel was curious about it. Since every style was different depending on who casted it. "Akiya.."

"I like it.. it's more complex than it seems.." Koni rolled his eyes at his friend but let him look over it as he pleased. If they had asked, Akiya would have offered up some gold. But he felt it would have been rude to make offers to strangers or seem like he was more important than he was. Plus, he had been raised in the poorest of places and was used to the simple things in life.. he winced as his ear was yanked down and Koni took him over to Koni.He was getting Reika.

**

Reika was honestly confused by what was going on but trying to make sense of it all. But she leaned forward and whispered Hayaharu's ear, "Forgive me but I'm confused. What's going on?"

~This is more like it...~

Entering the carriage in a dignified manner befitting of a Lord, Shade took a seat in the mechanical carriage, nodding approvingly.

"It's a bit...shabby", he said, getting himself comfortable for the journey in what he judged to be the best seat, "But it should suffice, as all of you seem to poor to afford anything truly fitting of this..."

He was a little bit more impressed then he let on, but it was a Dark Lord's duty to make sure that the peasants didn't get to full of themselves, after all. They were lucky to have someone like him coming along...

Softly, his head bowed low, Mirror made ethereal steps into the carriage where he took a spot near one of the windows. It was surprising, to see a miracle like this, but Mirror was grateful nonetheless. They would get there faster, so perhaps he'd have a chance to be put back in his body. He secretly hoped that his body wasn't decaying or something. There terrible thoughts plagued him and he sought to distract himself.

"Be thankful that we actually have something to ride in," Mirror caught himself saying to the snobbish man.

Narrowing his eyes at the peasant's audacity, Shade managed to stop himself from putting him into his place--the little spirit was valued by Roan it seemed, so it would be best to leave him be for the moment.

"My...apologies--"

Pausing for a second, the Dark Lord searched his memory for the name that went to the peon.

"--Mere. I don't mean to offend."

Putting forth a fake smile, he continued.

"As I said, it should suffice to get us where we're going, if nothing else..."

The Geisha was not a believer in magic, to her people it was deemed 'witchcraft', particularly when that which pouted from the bowels of the cauldron happened to be mechanical. The unfortunate thing about being this far north was that technology was fleeting, spurned by tradition in favour of more desirable things...like living horses, for a start. Thus, it was unsurprising that the woman who had been born into such traditions was wary of what lay before her.

...It was a carriage, that much she could see...but it was also completely void of life.

Nevertheless, beggars could not be choosers and while her mind fougt with itself in relation to any other 'viable' option the fact still remained that she did not have the strength nor the appropriate shoes to make the journey to her city on foot. Unfortunately, it just was not going to happen this afternoon (or any time soon for that matter).

Alas, Reika's question did quickly bring her back to reality nd with a small smile she shifted her gaze side ways to eye the tiny Elysian. "Can you not hear them?" It was unclear as to what she was referring to at this precise moment in time, "We are returning to Shoichi, the Imperial City and the land directly beneath the Libern range."

Of course, whether the Geisha went was another matter entirely. According to her ind she was more than happy to stay here but a certain someone might disapprove...

"My name is Mir-ror" the ghost corrected to the man, "Not, Mere." Then he turned away to stare out the windows.

Underneath them the carriage suddenly jumped into a roll, rattling across the cobblestone along the path of their journey. While everyone else jumped, Mirror simply stayed put, using what little energy he had to muster to keep himself actually in the cabin with the others. If he didn't, he would fly right through the walls of the carriage and into the road and he would be THAT much farther from gaining his body back from the depths of that crystal coffin.

"What happens when we arrive?" the Al Sylian asked aloud, hoping someone would answer.

((Right. Let's see if I can still do Shade convincingly...))

Shade harrumphed quietly. The little spirit was so touchy about inconsequential things...and after all, how was he, the grand and mighty Penumbra Shade expected to keep track of all the scurrying commoners? Maybe he would assign them all numbers once he was in control. That might be easier to remember.

Sighing at the Al Sylian's ego, the Lord almost missed Mirror's question, but took slight pause at it--that would be a valuable bit of information, with a ride as uncomfortable as this one...

And besides, the sooner he got to the cloister, the sooner he could lay claim to an ancient weapon or something, (there was bound to be one there--that's how this kind of thing worked, he was certain), and start his conquest of the city, which was the important thing, right?

((I seriously thought I had posted a long, long time ago. *flails* much apologies.))

Shabby...?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The GaiaCom's 'thoughts' blazed in her mechanical eyes as her head snapped furiously at the word. She had not conjured it for a princess' ball but for functionality and purpose. It would be soft, even comfortable, inside for the flesh ones -she had seen to that. Were they not on a mission? This would keep the fool humans not only warm but relatively safe and not need to rely on beasts of any type that could need food or warmth themselves, or bolt in the face of danger.

Deeply hating and mistrusting men anyway Myranda was already turning and taking a step towards the insulting male, the fingers of her long elegant gloved hand curling around the lip of her cauldron and lifting it easily. Something stopped her, the sensors of that wrist flashing data to her of the most integral of her programming: Trelweny was stopping her.

Though physically she could easily wrench free of the light restraining touch her base orders and programming shifted the GaiaCom to comply. Even as a special noticing system within her realized Trelweny had not physically touched the GaiaCom. The human woman had already gone inside the carriage. For that matter the one with whom she was furious was also inside and soon enough such logical reasoning would point out the faultiness of reacting only with her emotion chip. With a sigh as her logic circuits caught up to the why her human was stopping her Myranda -still furious- nodded to her human sharply that she understood. Instead of winging the heavy cast iron monstrosity at the fool man's head she mouthed a spell and the lifted cauldron returned to to charm size and attached back to her bracelet.
Your head's saved for now... man. His gender thought so derogatory it should have seared her circuits if such a thing were possible. Still she glared at the one named Shade even as he gave what she suspected was supposed to be an apology -how dare he attempt to use her nickname... and then get it wrong to boot! So wrong... that the spirit even thought he was being referred to. Her humor chip did seem to find something amusing about that at least and she snorted faintly, gaze flicking to the other fleshlings in a quick methodological fashion. At least the Geisha was proper and kept any of her mortal opinions to herself.

It would have more highly amused the GaiaCom that the overly dressed female thought of magic as witchcraft, for hers certainly was. Scientifically programmed witchcraft, though whoever came up with that much less managed to implement it had to be insane. The whole thought process would have alighted Myranda's own warped 'sense' of humor.

Made one wonder about her programmer.

She had moved to let the high-handed male find whatever seat pleased him, for she had no such silly preference herself. Truthfully, she did not even know she had reacted on such a level to still the GaiaCom who waited outside for the others to enter. Nor was there any outward statement made that Myranda intended to take the driver's seat -being neigh impervious to the elements- but Trelweny knew nonetheless.

Trelweny gave a soft sigh and even softer smile seeing her 'friend' cool down. Although she herself was irked at the man's rudeness she did not find it enough to potentially kill him over -though she was sure Myranda only had intended to 'knock' some politeness into him. The widow knew the blow could have killed him. Unless he really was something more than human. She really did not think about that. Attacking one's traveling companions just would not do. But her glance next to Shade held a look of soft disappointment only mothers seemed to be able to manage. Twice over: once for his rude insult and again for his empty apology. Apologies should mean something in Trel's opinion. But... She sighed softly thinking about it ...at least empty ones can attempt to bridge gaps better than the lack of them...

It was not as reassuring a thought as she would have hoped.

Pulling a leg up under her while waiting for everyone to get settled she spoke to Myr as if the GaiaCom were right beside her though she was not. She knew the android's sensitive sound receptors would pick it up regardless. "Myr... how fast can this go?" Perhaps they could determine how long it would take them to at least reach their next destination -the Imperial City Shoichi as Harayaharu restated conveniently.

"Well... on flat terrain I wouldn't want to push it much past 70mph." The cool artificial voice came through the walls of the carriage easily though the walls muffled it somewhat, though not enough to soften the surprisingly human sharpness of residual fury in her tone. In fact her voice itself gave nothing away on its own that the mechanical human was anything other than human. "That might not be best for you or the countryside however, and could draw unwanted attention as well." Those outside would be able to see the black skinned witch shrug her bare shoulders unfeelingly. "We'll be getting there quicker than if the bunch of you walked so I really don't see the point." She did actually, but was still seething and so would be more verbally irritated even than normal.

Reika's eyes widened a bit at that knowledge. Though she had been striving to hear what they were speaking about, there were a good amount of people and with the sounds of disagreements flowing through the air... well, she couldn't quite catch the gist of what they were saying anyway. But the geisha's words caused her to nod cause it seemed clear. "Do they all need to go there as well?" She was tugging on a strand of hair lightly before she noticed Koni dragging Akiya over. "Will you be coming along as well, Lady Hayaharu?" she really hoped she would come, mainly so she could have someone else to speak with and she looked upon the geisha like a mentor. Though Hayaharu was gentle, in her eyes anyway, she also had no issues with telling Reika to shape up if need be. So she couldn't help liking her.

Once they were close enough, Koni released the angel's ear and folded his hands into the sleeves of his shirt. "I'd like my charge back, please, Lady Hayaharu." After all, the men had gotten the things Hayaharu had made them go get in the first place so he wanted Reika back. Bad enough she had been spending so much time with that idiotic bird as it was... surely she needed some space away from him. Though it appear as though the two were ignoring each others existence, which was a rather good thing in his book.
