It's alright, dear one. Keep trying-- when you feel like doing it, sing to yourself or grab a book, something to... erm, keep your hands occupied sweatdrop Seriously, though, just try to find something else to think about. Thank you for being honest about it-- we'll be your accountability buddies, keep you on the right track. Keep working at it; I'm sure that, like most things of the nature, it's got to be hard to quit "cold turkey." We're still praying for ya-- and we're not giving up on you.
*shifts into D&D mode and hands you a "Hug of Encouragement +100* Never give up!!

Mmmm.. After 4 years of trying to quit, it's only just now becoming more of a reality... it's a tough habit to break but there is victory ONLY in Christ. I believe it is a sin because, though the act can theoretically be done without actually lusting, theoretically doesn't cut it, at least not for me. So, I count it as a sin for me and from what I can gather from every other male human being on planet earth... it is. So there is a need for repentance, which you obviously feel, and a turning away from it.
Pastor Sandy Adams came to my school and was speaking on this today, so it's fresh in my mind: The thing is, Christ already gave us victory with the cross. Romans 6 is talking about crucifying our "old man" the "flesh" with Christ and in 6:6, Paul says something amazing: KNOWING this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. Paul says that we are freed from sin, the cage that we were trying so hard to get out of has been unlocked since we gave our lives to Christ. So Paul continues to say that we should, reckon ourselves dead to sin but alive in Christ. We need to claim the victory Christ one and purpose ourselves to be the new creation that God has made us, we are no longer who we were. So when those thoughts come, you can say, "No, Not me!" For you are a man of God now, that is not your nature anymore. Pray to God for strength, look to the Cross and what He did for you, and walk forward in the fact that He has already given that strength to you.
(sorry again for not being around, my studies are getting a little more intense as I am approaching the end of the semester and procrastination is biting me in the butt.)
