Tessa...was growing accustomed to her new home and lifestyle. Though still primitive in a way, she ate like a animal, using her hands to grab slivers of meat to slid under her mask and her snake companion Zephyr would snack on a mouse or two causing Jayoku's own snake to be jealous.
It was morning, Tessa had awoken in a fetal like position on the floor of the 'room' Jayoku had assigned to her. she didn't understand the purpose of a bed, the floor was just as confertable. She had built herself a nest on the floor with all those sheets that has been on that bed, and now stretching she could feel Zephyr coiled on a heat rock Jayoku had purchased for him.
It was hard to rub ones eyes when there was a mask in the way, she wasn't exactly sure why she couldn't remove it, she could lift it only slightly to eat and had to use a straw to drink. But she could see, breath and hear perfetly fine. Moving about on the floor like an animal she stretched again, yawned and then shook her head. The sound of her earings clicking agianst the wooden mask, had made her tense to first little while she had come into being but now she had gotten use to them.

Today's Horoscope Most of the week appears to hold many 'chances or needs for discussion' and you would be wise to 'see them through' and with a good attitude, patience and judgment.'
Jayoku sat on the floor, her legs crossed her hands resting lightly on each knee. Time had seemed to fly by, all of a sudden the rains had come and winter was on its way. Tessa sat in the room trying to learn from Jayoku what she could. This thing called meditation had intriqued the young lanturn spirit and she liked the calm she recieved when doing it.
Zephyr had could about his young charges neck his wings folding in to rest. He was getting bigger and Jay was worried he would get too big for the house. Perhaps he would stop growing? She could only hope so, the snake was almost too heavy for Tessa to carry in her hands for a long period of time.
Peeking a look at the girl she couldn't tell if she had her eyes closed or not, that smiling mask was always in the way. She wondered if she should go back to the shop and inquire about how to remove it. It couldn't be comfertable. But Tessa had never once complained about it and so Jay had been a bit relunctant to go ask.
Raising her hands her cracks her finger slightly, the sound of bone popping filled the air for a brief moment before Jay scuffeled to her feet. It was only 7am and Jay now went to the kitchen to make some tea.
Tessa on the other hand continued to sit on the floor, her eyes were closed, she was trying to 'meditate' or whatever that was suppose to be. Tessa sighed and finally opening her eyes shifted her weight and let Zephyr slither down from her arm. The days had been long, the weather been changing. It was 'winter' now. Snow was on the ground and she didn't like it much. It was too cold for her, and she couldn't take Zephyr out with her.
But...on the other hand, the house was filled with the scent of cookies. Christmas cookies to be exact. they made her mouth water, but Jayoku was ever reluntant to let her have more than one at a time. Licking her lips she wondered if she could perhaps sneak a cookie... but decided against it. She didn't wish to risk the wrath of her mom.

Today's Horoscope Those of you that enjoy a challenge and don't try to avoid difficult decisions could well look back on today as the turning point in your life. This will be a time when you finally take the first steps towards fulfilling your dreams and ambitions. However, this may not come easily and it will certainly take plenty of courage and determination to grab the opportunity when it arrives. Not all of you will have this courage. If you do have the misfortune to miss your chance, luckily, you may not even realise the opportunity had existed.
Tessa was playing in the living room, with whom? Zephyr of course. She hadn't really gotten a chance to meet many other lanturns do to the fact that Jayoku had been super busy with her work as well as getting ready for Christmas.
Currently she was playing with some figures she found in one of the christmas boxes. there was what she couldonly assume a mother a father three random guys a baby and a bunch of animals. She was having more fun pretending the animals could talk rather than playing with the human figures but she was a strange one.

Jayoku rubbed her temple, feeling everything just seem to seep out of her. Stress, boredom, everything. Taking a deep breath she looked to her strange one, her child whoms gaurdian snake was coild around rather defensively. What did he think she was going to do? Eat her?
Tessa who's masked face gazed at Jay didn't betray any emotion, nor did her stance. did she feel any remorse? she couldn't tell by her body language and normally she could figure that all out easily. But what was done was done, nothing could of been changed about it. But why did it have to happen today?
Jayoku knelt to pick up the small snakes body, Serin had been stepped on. the poor emerald snakes limp body showed the crushing force of the girls foot was too much for the poor thing to handle. The dent in his long body was a bit horrifying to look at. Serin's dead eyes only reflected the horror it saw right before his death.
She didn't know what to say, she could yell she could scream, but that wouldn't bring Serin back. Her lifelong friend now...gone. Standing she turned her body, the heaviness in the room was stifling. And without saying a word, she exited her scrying room and went into the hallway.
Tessa watched her go, she was sure she would hear screams, crying, lecturing, anger....something. But, the sadness that just seemed to seep into her soul forced everyone to be silent it seemed. Tesse did feel remorse...she didn't mean to crush the poor snake. She hadn't seen it. while she was playing with Zephyr. Why couldn't all snakes fly? She was sure is Serin could fly he would of been able to get out of the way in time.
Sinking to the ground she crouched and hugged her knees, Zephyr silthered of her shoulders to fly in front of her, his tongue flickering out to gently touch her forehead. His obvious concern for her showing.
Tessa turned her head to look at the spot the incident had occurred, a few scales were let from where Serin's body had been ground into the carpet. Using her nails she picked them out of the fibers and cupped them in her hands.
She would need to make this up to Jayoku....but she wasn't sure how...not yet.
