The sun had set hours ago, the night coming alive as most creatures retreated to their burrows and dens. One figure, a thin beauty of blue, sat up on a rock, her form illuminated by the moonlight above. Miremba had gotten back into her old habit, sleeping during the day and staying up all night. Ever since the attack, Miremba had tried to be awake during the day, to protect herself from any preditors. Yet now a days, she found herself becoming too tired in the warm sun, and she slowly got back into the nocturnal cycle once more.
Letting her soft blue eyes drift, she moved her maw up as she gazed towards the moon. It was full that night, and almost lit like the whole day around her. Opening her lips, she let out a small song of sorrow, mourning for her pups even though it had been months. She could not forget, there was no way to distract her memories when she was always alone. As the slow howl echoed on, she looked back down to her paws, and let out a deep sigh. It looked as if it was going to be a long night.

Kiji heard a soft song of another drifting to him on the breeze. Wondering where it was actually coming from, he stood slowly, yawning widely, and began trotting against the breeze, catching the female's scent as he made his way towards her. It was not long, when at a reasonable gait, he became very close, and spotted a slim figure perched upon a rock, noce to the sky, and the beautiful song pouring from not only her mouth, but her heart.
Kiji noticed a certain tone to her song however. A tone of sadness perhaps? That's what it was, sadness indeed. He felt like he would be able to comfort her a little, if he were to offer conversation, or a hunt maybe? Or he could at least distract her from her sadness for a while, maybe long enough to discover a little about where he was?

Her ear suddenly snapped to attention as it flickered to where Kiji was moving. Nose lifting once more, she sniffed the air but could only smell wind, and realized that the other was down wind. With a slight hold of breath, she turned her head and searched the moon-lit grasses. If she could not catch the sight of whoever was there, than she would need to worry of a preditor.
Seeing a shadow move, she stilled even more, so her heart was the only thing moving, until the wind pushed her fur and she caught sight of the familiar features. It was another Wild Dog, something she saw few and inbetween her long nights. Moving to jump from the rock, she landed and realized just how much she stood out. Shaking her head to dismiss the thoughts of being an easy prey, she just looked around to see if she could catch sight of Kiji once more.

Kiji watched the female as she looked about cautiously. She seemed scared for a minute. Then he watched as she leapt from her perch and stood in the grass, apparently seeking his location. He wagged his tail happily, it seemed that she was interested in meeting him. Finally another that seemed almost as friendly as he was.
"Hello miss." Kiji adressed her, stepping into the light so she could see him better. "My name's Kijivu, or Kiji." He continued, taking a few paces towards her then stopping, not sure if he should go any closer just yet. She could be mean, maybe she'd left her perch so that she could attack and maybe even kill him. He'd seen males torn up by hormonal females where he used to live, it sure wasn't a pretty sight.

Seeing him move into the light, her breath caught in surprise before her ears flatened onto her head. All at once, her small form huddled lightly towards the ground, and she waited for him to make the first move after. If he were to attack, she would easily run, yet if he showed he was friend, she would find some responce to leave before disapppearing like always.
"Oh," She said in a breathless responce, her voice filled with sorrow that seemed to always lace the words, "Hello..." She raised her head slowly before offering him a slim, fleeting grin, before her ears perked at the name he offered. Realizing that he was showing no harm, her stance relaxed until he moved closer. Tail stilling, she just eyed him a moment.
"Miremba," She finally whispered out, smiling slightly again as the words faded from the conversation for a few short moments.

"Well, I'm very pleased to make your accquaintance." Kiji smiled, and gave her a small nod. He noticed that she was tense, and seemed very sad. "You are sad." He said bluntly. "But why are you sad?" He questioned, not at all feeling as though he was pestering her. Although that was entirely up to her, as she was the one he was asking. He thought that looking happy might make her not get anfry at him, so he wagged his tail and gave her a grin. "You....don't have to answer if you don't wish to."

"I'd rather not..." She murmered, having nodded at his first words. Somehow, being still in her adolescent stages, she wished not to speak nor put herself out on a limb. Instead, she just watched the other with silent eyes, her heart beating wildly in her cheast as her mind wandered to all of the nightmares she faced months earlier.
Turning her head away, she continued to keep silent as she realized that Kiji was not someone who would hurt her. Keeping her eyes down, she took a moment to get used to the partnership of another, ending up on her own more than naught, and than sent him a fleeting smile.

"It feels nice to smile sometimes." He said, offering her a smile of his own, tail wagging happily. "Would you care to go for a walk? My legs are feeling like they want a good stretching..." He said, trailing off towards the end of his sentance, looking at the dirt before him, then back up at Miremba. He stood up, yawning as he did so, and pushing his back into the air while keeping his legs close together. He heard a small popping noise and grinned. "That felt good, I've been trying to get that right for days now." He laughed, nots ure what her reaction would be to his enjoyment.

She just tilted her head at his comment, a look of confusion crossing her features while she tried to figure the other out. Letting out a shaky breath, she opted to nod slowly, her thoughts done.
"It would be nice to spend some time with others...it has been so long..." Mumering that part, voice as soft as always, she made a step towards him before pausing, "That...and it is around time for a hunt." Seeing if he would take the somewhat offer, she felt embarrasment cross her system, and her shy side took over once more. Ears falling, she redirected her eyes to the side.

"A hunt sounds lovely." Kiji said, smiling at her yet again as she came towards him. He gave her a small bow and then turned, starting to pad off in the other direction, hoping he was heading towards food. "What are we looking for exactly?" He asked after a few steps, not even sure what they were hunting for. He had absolutely no idea what kind of prey lived here, so it would be pretty silly if he ended up pouncing on something that would pounce right back and possibly kill him, instead of the other way around. He laughed and threw a glance over his shoulder at her, waiting for a reply, and for her to catch up.

"A rabbit." She said softly as she watched him stall, her eyes lidded lightly while she thought over what choices they had. After a moment, she moved towards his side and paused once more, though this time her muzzle lifted in the air. With a light sniff, she lowered her maw and smiled lightly as she caught the scent of a den not too far, where the fresh scent of rabbit lifted on the winds.
"This way..." She said, nodding in the direction, and made to slowly pad as indicated. Unsure of how to start any sort of conversation, she just sucked in some breath and let it softly out, keeping the silence going.

"Sounds good." Kiji laughed, tail still wagging happily, even though it was silent now. "So...how long have you lived here?" He asked, being himself rather unsure of what to say, or talk about. So he tried something simple, although every other creature he'd met here and asked that had lived here all their lives, so he was expecting much the same answer from her, but he didn't mind, at least it gave them something to talk about.
He looked around him as he floowed her, padding softly across the dirt towards wherever this...rabbit was. He had no idea what a rabbit was, so this would be something new. He felt in his stomach a weird feeling, and his brain knew it would be reluctant to try something new, but his stomach interrupted everything with a loud rumble, and he decided it didn't matter, he was hungry, and food was food.

She all but paused at his question, a bit reluctant to answer as she was glad she was in front. She didnt want him to become all offended, as polite as she was, and didn't answer for a long minute.
"I have lived in the soutlands since I was a young juvenile." She said softly, "Before, I lived with my pack." Leaving it at that, her nose caught a strong scent as they made way over a small hill. Below, a deep grey hare sat nibbling on a meal, which Miremba sadly knew would be it's last.

Kiji's eyes widened at the sight of the plump creature sitting before them. He let his tongue flop out, and drooled slightly, watching it nibble at it's meal. He reclined to his haunches and decided to wait, and see what Miremba did. He had no idea how to catch one of these things, and he didn't want to screw it up, but he didn't want to tell her he had no idea what it was either, so he waited. Long tail wagging behind him, still happily, and large ears perked atop his head, he observed the creature, and found it to be rather interesting. He knew he'd feel bad about eating it, if indeed there was enough for both of them on that thing, but it looked tasty, and he couldn't help but find it more tasty-looking than interesting at this point.

Glancing to where Kiji had paused, Miremba kept silent a moment before shaking her head and taking a step forward. There was only need for one of them to catch it, and by the looks of his stall, she would need to do it herself. Though that was no change from normal. Deciding it would be best for her to kill and offer him the first meal, she took an eligant step in the moonlight, and watched as the rabbit perked its ears her way.
I'm sorry...
With that, she lowered her legs before taking off in a powerful bound. Gaining a quick pace with her longer legs, she was able to swiftly immobilize the creature as she killed it with one snap. Lifting her eyes to where Kiji was left, she set him a seepish smile before walking towards him with the kill. She would let him have first share.
