eh, can't argue with logic, but everyone should read the orrigional works, i cant, but everyone should.

There are lots of debats about that. The bible was orignaly writtiin in I think (don't quote me on this) Greek and Hebrew. Translators translate the words by there meanings. The international version is just translated so people of today can understand it better. It has the same meaning as the kings james version. In fact you can look in a international bible and find how it was put together (When you have ALOT of time on your hands).

I know the old testament was definately written in Hebrew. I think it would be best to read it in the origional language if you could, because there's some words that don't translate to english, or we don't have a word with as strong, as precise, or as accurate of a meaning.

Y'all are right, the Old Testament was written in Hebrew. The New Testament was written in Greek. The Bible has around 40 authors and was written over about 1600 years. And it's been revised and had I don't know how many translations of it created since then, I'd kind of like to read it in the original language and compare. If you're that interested. There's 66 books total, 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. But enough facts about the Bible...

I don't know if I have a particularly favorite book, but I like Proverbs, and I like Paul's Letters. And I like General Letters. So most of the New Testament and Proverbs. If I had to pick a favorite book...*thinks* I'd probably go James.

You didn't know all that already? wow. My mom's old pastor gave her a bible because she memorized all 66 books in order. I think he gave all the kids in her church that opportunity.

You'd be surprised how many people are Christians but don't know some facts like that. I was in Bible Drill and was supposed to learn that and more about the Bible, plus memorize loads of verses and Scripture references to stories and things in the Bible, then be able to find them in 7 seconds. I was really good at it, made it to state every year I did it, which is the highest level. 6 years of that. ^_^

my favourite book of the bible would have to be the whole bible because it is all about god and his love for us even know we have sinned against him but if i had to choose one it would be psalms and i'm not sure why but i love that book

i love the whole Bible but the book of proverbs just has so many good passages.

Im a buddhist but I find the Philosophies of the Old Testament profound. I dont believe the religious stuff but i do see the philosophical interest. I DESPISE anything that says that homosexuality is bad. Im gay and it offends me.
