That's really good. I'm going to move it to the Journals subforum, though. More people will probably see it there. Even I almost missed it here.

It has a lot of potential, but here's some advice.

If you really care about writing, then you obviously want to be the best writer that you can be. To odo that, you need to make sure you have basic grammar and spelling skills down. Now, you're pretty good at this, but I did find that you are repeatedly puting "your" where there should be "you're."

Other than what the grammar nazi in me attacks, it does have a lot of potential and I can see a lot of subtle insight in it, flashes of what you could call brilliance. The hard part is making it all brilliant. It looks like with some hard work and study and perfection, you could get there. Very good job smile

I hate to criticize the grammar nazi in you but in this case she's wrong. "Your" is used correctly. "Your" is the possessive form of "You" which is what is needed, not "You're" which is a contraction meaning "You are."

I understand that. These are the lines I was referring to.

Slide into the class your failing...

School is over and your not going home.

Now, the word "your" is used quite a bit properly, and, anyway, this is an easy mistake to make. In rereading I sometimes find myself puting "they're" instead of "their," but I've known the difference since the second grade. However, despite knowing this, using the wrong form often presents an air of apathy towards one's own work, because it essentially means that the writer did not edit and reread and perfect as extensively as he or she probably would on a piece that he or she cared about deeply.

This is actually more of a poem than a short story, I think. It's good. Very well-written. Not my style of poem or story, but it's well written.
