Clover's summer had not started off as well as the last two had. In fact, her summer had started off pretty badly. When she arrived on the platform, instead of meeting Miss Heulwen, her mother was waiting on the platform for her. She was happy to see her mother, but her somber expression and dull colors led her to become apprehensive. Her mother shared that they could not return to Llangolen, since she had been cast out of the Grove. Her involvement with humans and Clover's continued enrollment at Hogwarts ad driven a wedge between them. The grove had told Peony that either Clover stop going to Hogwarts, or they could find somewhere else to live. Peony knew how much Clover loved the school, so she'd chosen the latter option. That meant now that they were homeless. Clover was very upset, naturally, and asked her mother what she was going to do. Since her mother didn't have Muggle or wizarding money, she announced that they would have to try and find her wizard father. Peony had already reached out to Miss Heulwen and Azalea at Hogwarts. Miss Heulwen would be helping them get to Germany, which is where Clover's father, Sigmund, lived. From there, hopefully he reacted well to Peony showing up and revealing he had a daughter. Azalea was going to request a place for Peony at the Forbidden Forest grove.

After arriving in Germany, it hadn't taken long for Peony and Clover to find the place that Sigmund Bauer was living at currently. However, they both had trouble approaching him since Clover had never met him and Peony hadn't seen him in thirteen years. But the other option was being homeless, possibly for a long while. So with much apprehension, the two approached the door and knocked. When he opened the door, he immediately recognized Peony. There was some confusion as to what she was doing there, but after she introduced him to their daughter, Sigmund hugged the both of them. After a brief discussion outside, he invited them into his flat. They wound up spending almost a month there with him so that Clover could get to know her father. The ultimate decision was that Sigmund would move to the UK again to provide a home for his daughter to live at. He wound up finding a house in Hogsmeade village so that Peony could stay with them and be close to the Forbidden Forest, which was where she'd be living part of the time. Sigmund also figured out work for himself after he moved there so that he could still continue to support them. When he was younger, he traveled around a lot studying different types of plants, but lately he'd been slowing down more and more. It made sense that, since he now knew he had a daughter, he ought to fully settle down.

In the later part of the summer, Clover, Peony, and Sigmund left Germany together after securing the house in Hogsmeade. They packed up their meager belongings and Sigmund purchased them plane tickets back to the United Kingdom. The little family made their way to the magical village of Hogsmeade after they arrived and cleared customs in the United Kingdom. In the small village of Hogsmeade, it wasn't hard to find the home that they'd purchased and move in. Sigmund and Clover traveled into the Muggle world to purchase some new furniture to set up their house while Peony journeyed into the Forbidden Forest to meet with the nymph grove. With the house being prepared, Clover went over everything again. They had three bedrooms, but only two were being used. Then her thoughts went to her best friend. She knew Anais lived at the orphanage, though the why part she hadn't asked. She knew that her best friend didn't have a family. Now that she had a Mama and a Papa... she wanted Anais to one too. She spoke with Mama and Papa and after some discussion, they agreed to adopt her. The family would make the trip to the Ministry to start the process, then go to Wool's to collect Anais.
