LIFE GOAL More or less, what he’s doing now

CURRENT OCCUPATION Hogwarts Governor & Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Department

xxxPERSONALITYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CURIOUS Walt loves to see how the world around him works, especially when it comes to magic. He’s always experimenting with new ways of doing things and researching things he wants to understand deeper.

RESPONSIBLE To people who don’t know Walt well, he may come off as reckless, but in reality, he is extremely reliable. He can always be counted on to do the right thing and will always come through with his promises. He would never let someone down or do something that would put someone else in harm's way. He can be trusted no matter what the scenario.
RELAXED Walt tries not to take himself or the world around him too seriously. It’s his philosophy that what will happen is going to happen, and you’ll face it when it does, instead of sitting around worrying about it. He’s also aware that mistakes are going to happen in life, and taking them too seriously just makes everything worse. You’ll rarely see him stress about things that aren’t directly in his control.
ENTHUSIASTIC Walt is passionate about everything that he does. He loves and cares deeply. He’s constantly eager to try new things and has the energy to get through most anything. He is motivated and very little can distract him from his goals.
CONFIDENT Walt knows exactly who he is and is not afraid to show it to everyone else. He knows he has a handle on the challenges he faces and won’t let them deter him. He’s found the best way for him to be happy is to embrace himself and not be worried about what anyone else thinks.
INTELLIGENT It’s not always outwardly obvious, but Walt is incredibly intelligent. He is constantly figuring out how things work and how he can make them work even better. He’s able to easily learn new things and when he sets his mind to something, it’s not long before he knows all about it.

xxxBACKSTORYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

EARLY CHILDHOOD Walter Carnegie was born in Berwick-upon-Tweed, England. His family was well respected in the magical community and considerably wealthy. He was the middle child with a sister on each side. Growing up, he had about everything he needed. No real complaints. When he was eleven he received his Hogwarts letter, just like everyone in his family for generations. He was thrilled to be able to learn more about magic and how the wizarding world really worked. That September 1st, he headed to King’s Cross and off to Hogwarts.

SCHOOL YEARS Hogwarts had to be one of the most beautiful places he had ever seen. He was practically giddy heading into the sorting ceremony and seeing what house he would be a part of for the next seven years. To his surprise, he was sorted into Gryffindor. He had no problem with it, but everyone had been sure he’d be sorted into Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, yet here he was. A lion. He found that he did well in school and genuinely enjoyed it. He was mostly a good student, though admittedly, he found himself in trouble a handful of times when he got carried away and magical experiments went wrong. The one department he always seemed unlucky in was love. While his sisters and friends were dating, he just couldn’t make it work. No one felt right, but he convinced himself it was unimportant. After all, he was here to learn, not find a wife. He continued with school, graduating with good marks, and quickly found his way to a Ministry job.

POST-GRADUATION Walt absolutely loved his job, though as someone who couldn’t sit still for long, he wanted something more to occupy his time. After considering for a bit, Walt became a Hogwarts Governor, which he also came to love. There was one day, a few years in, that Walt was sent to London to inform a muggle-born student about Hogwarts and their magic. It was there he met Lucy and Bennett Easton. It was hardly professional to fall for a student’s mother, but from the first time he saw Lucy, he couldn’t help it. It also helped that he and Bennett seemed to hit it off once he was told all about Hogwarts. Usually, Walt would go to a home, tell the student the news, maybe accompany them to Diagon Alley and the Platform, and that was about it. This time, he found himself regularly meeting with the Eastons. Even after Bennett was gone to school, he was still spending time with Lucy.

It was the day Bennett went off to his third year at Hogwarts that the two decided what they were doing, was dating. Though, with the timing, Bennett still didn’t know. The two weren’t actively keeping him in the dark, it was just strange for both of them to admit they were in a relationship.
It was also around this time that Walt’s brother-in-law was elected Minister of Magic. When Bennett came home for the holidays, he was immediately interested in the Minister’s work, which Walt took as another win for himself. When Bennett finally returned for the summer, Walt and Lucy then revealed to him that they had been seeing each other. Bennett was admittedly a bit wary at the beginning, but soon took to it. They had numerous conversations about magic, politics, and the law. The boy seemed to want every piece of knowledge he could get. Once Walt knew Bennett was comfortable and he knew he could be a good father to him, Walt asked Lucy to marry him. The next summer, they did just that. Walt had never been happier in his life. Then, once all the paperwork was taken care of, Walt officially adopted Bennett.

After that, life fell into a comfortable pattern. Walt worked two jobs that he loved, and on his off time, still found new ways to use magic.

xxxBACKSTORYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

EARLY CHILDHOOD

Bennett was raised mostly by a single mother, Lucy Easton, who worked long hours but never let him feel alone. His biological father left when he was an infant, and although Lucy spoke little of the man, Bennett never doubted that he wasn’t wanted. Despite this, his childhood was stable. He spent many quiet afternoons reading while Lucy worked or napped on the sofa.

On his eleventh birthday, a man named Walt Carnegie appeared at their home with a letter from Hogwarts. Neither Lucy nor Bennett had ever heard of it, but the man assured them it was real—and that Bennett was special. Walt was a Governor for Hogwarts, and Bennett would be attending that fall.

SCHOOL YEARS

FIRST YEAR~ 2049 - 2050

Bennett Easton Carnegie arrived at Hogwarts with sharp eyes, polite manners, and a quick, inquisitive mind. Sorted into Ravenclaw, he gravitated toward logic puzzles, spell theory, and ethical debates even as a first-year. He found charm came easily when he needed it, though he was more often found reading near the windows of the common room than leading any crowd. His professors appreciated his thoughtfulness, and he quickly became known as a student who asked not just "how" magic worked, but "why."

SECOND YEAR~ 2050 - 2051

Bennett’s love for logic deepened in his second year. He began to show a keen interest in magical legal precedents. Though not a rule-breaker, Bennett wasn’t afraid to debate authority when he saw inconsistency. He remained kind, thoughtful, and attentive to the feelings of others—especially younger students who looked up to him for guidance.

THIRD YEAR ~ 2051 - 2052

Electives added a new layer of challenge: Bennett chose Ancient Runes and Arithmancy, drawn to their logic and pattern-based nature. Arithmancy, in particular, shaped how he viewed magic — as a structure to interpret rather than simply perform. He found unexpected joy in decoding rune stones and would often quiz Jordan about language systems just for fun.A Ravenclaw prefect from the year above took him under her wing briefly, helping him practice protective enchantments after a minor duel broke out in a corridor one night. It stuck with him how little it took for things to go wrong.

FOURTH YEAR ~ 2052 - 2053

The summer after Third year marked Bennett’s first real exposure to international magical politics. Through conversations at home, he learned that his mother, Lucy, had begun seeing Walt Carnegie—a well-respected Hogwarts governor with deep ties to the Department of International Magical Cooperation. Though Bennett was initially wary, he appreciated Walt’s transparency and intelligence.Walt took a liking to the boy and began offering subtle guidance on the intricacies of global magical governance. Bennett, ever observant, soaked in every detail.

The influence of Walt Carnegie was clear by the time Bennett returned for his fourth year. He requested extra reading materials on magical diplomacy and started independently researching the International Confederation of Wizards. His essays leaned more into ethics and logical analysis of laws, often exploring how spells and statutes interacted. Charming but never performative, he treated his classmates with warmth and sincerity, and was often the voice of reason during group debates. He even helped mediate a dispute in the Ravenclaw common room over the interpretation of prefect responsibilities.

FIFTH YEAR ~ 2053 - 2054

The summer prior to his fifth year, Walt and Lucy got married, it was a rather simple time, but Bennet loved it, he could see the love his mom had to Walt, and Bennet was pretty happy about it too - he looked up to Walt, and loved the support his mom now had.

Fifth year brought the pressures of O.W.L.s, which Bennett met with calm strategy. He continued excelling in History of Magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Ancient Runes, but it was in Muggle Studies that he surprised everyone, drawing comparisons between Muggle legal systems and wizarding law. During this time, he began writing regular letters to Walt, asking about the nuances of magical treaties and international legislation. His thoughtful, analytical style earned him quiet respect from teachers and peers alike. Even under pressure, he was kind, dependable, and always ready to help others organize their revision plans.

SIXTH YEAR ~ 2054 - 2055

This was a memorable summer to Bennett, Walt officially adopted him, he didn't change his name or anything, but he was really a part of their family now, he belong to Lucy and Bennett, and just fit in and it was perfect.

While Bennett probably should have dropped a few classes after OWLs, he couldn't convince himself that there was something he wouldn't need, o he dedicated himself to continuing forward, with everything. Bennett's warm, inclusive personality remained a staple of his character—he was the kind of student who’d explain a difficult concept with patience and good humor.

SEVENTH YEAR ~ 2055 - 2056

With a clear vision in mind, Bennett entered his final year more focused than ever. His N.E.W.T. essays demonstrated legal insight and polished rhetoric, and he was often called on by professors to help with discussion groups. He applied for an internship with the Department of International Magical Cooperation and was accepted before graduation. Though dedicated to his work, Bennett never lost his easy charm, whether it was lightening the mood during late-night study sessions or bringing tea to an overwhelmed friend.

POST-GRADUATION

After graduating, Bennett legally took the surname Carnegie, feeling that it might open professional doors—and as a gesture of gratitude toward the father who helped him get into this world.

Bennett’s internship transitioned into a full position with the International Magical Office of Law. The office proved the perfect fit. Bennett thrived on the complex logic, the challenge of reconciling international and domestic law, and the thrill of diplomacy. His legal briefs were praised for clarity, and his collaborative nature made him a favorite among colleagues.

Still, even as his professional life flourished, Bennett felt a quiet longing for something more personal. He adored his work—but a part of him still craved family, connection, and a deeper sense of belonging. He often thought about what it might mean to share his world with someone else: not just the diplomacy and law, but the quiet kindnesses, the morning coffee, the shared dreams.
Ever logical, Bennett knows life doesn’t always follow a clear path. But he believes—wholeheartedly—that a future with both purpose and love is possible
