Long ago, in a land far away, there lived a kingdom full of radiant energy and warmth. Located between two mountains, the area was shielded from the elements. Even in winter, the valley retained warm weather. Ancient folklore holds that as long as the villagers worshipped their gods and made offerings, the kingdom would prosper forever. There are many gods. These gods were Tea Gods, each with a plant that granted them immortality. As long as each tea was cultivated and kept thriving, so too did the gods live on.

As centuries passed, the Gods grew bored. They began mingling with the locals, entertaining themselves in their dens. They would appear as mortals and spend a night with the living. Some would barter and trade for their time. Others would offer a drop of their spirit to quicken a female's womb. In return for a promise to keep their lands healthy and pure. Descendants of the Gods were born. Marked by the essence of the Tea God that helped sire them. The strongest bloodline is the Kemuri family. They were descended from the Black Tea God. While not gods themselves, they possessed greatness in luck and good fortune. They brought prosperity to their people.

For a time, the people and the gods lived in harmony. The land was blessed with prosperity and happiness. The Kemuri family became rulers under the gods. Benevolent, they helped keep order as the kingdom grew. Guards were trained to help protect those who lived in the valley, as outsiders began to visit. They expanded their wealth with tea trading. Kemuri children were sent to other lands to ensure peace would continue. They brought back tales of their travels and new goods to trade.
