The ship finally docked underneath the Club and the crew started unloading the cargo while Wolfgang led Bast and Desmond from the ship. But he had already made a point to change his clothes before leaving the ship. If he didn't, Cassarria would have attacked him. When he changed, she was a bit more subtle about it.
He directed the couple towards the elevator pushed the button for the private quarters of the staff.
They said nothing in the elevator. Certainly nothing about the ship they'd sunk on the way here. One less batch of Hunters...
The doors opened and Wolfgang exited into the arms of his beloved. Cassarria didn't hesitate to give up her mouth to her mate and husband, giving a very pleased moan as he kissed her very thoroughly.
When she was let up for air, it took her a moment to get her breath back and look at the guests he'd brought. She considered Bast for a moment then knew she was going to have to remove the memory-block from the young Hylarr.
She looked at their Marks and didn't hesitate to smile, "Congratulations on finding your Mate, Bast. I'm happy for you," she told her simply.
Bast couldn't resist a shy yet happy smile, "Thank you, Aunt Cassarria. This is Desmond," she introduced him easily while letting him know who the vivacious redhead was.
Cassarria looked up at Varos for a brief moment then looked at Desmond with a more serious expression, "I need you to do us all a very big favor and hold her. I have to remove a memory block from her and it can be a bit overwhelming. But she will not survive here if I don't do it. Once she processes the memories, she will be fine," she told him simply then simply acted.
She raised one hand towards Bast and her sapphire eyes glowed briefly. A flash of light moved through Bast then she simply passed out and collapsed into Desmond's hold.
She shook her head, "I'll explain after you get her into a bed," she said then led the way to an apartment, "This is hers. Put her in the master bedroom. I'll make some coffee," she told him as she moved into the kitchen.
The master bedroom easily showed Desmond her subtle and cautious personality with a slight flare of humor. But this room also showed him a lack of the laughter and teasing he'd come to know. This room showed him the girl that had just left her family.
He tucked her into the bed and petted her for a moment then went for that explanation.
Cassarria served everyone coffee in the living room, sitting herself next to Varos as the older male wrapped his hand around her thigh possessively, "Bast spent five years here before we could get her to Sebastet. RRT was patrolling the harbors too heavily for him to leave. So she started to develop a life here. She even became one of our Blade Dancers. Very successfully, I might add. She's quite deadly," she started the explanation easily then looked up at Varos briefly before continuing with a heavy sigh, "Unfortunately, someone took an interest in her. There were other things happening and I freely admit that I got distracted. I think that's the only reason it went as far as it did... He wasn't a good match. Now please understand, I don't judge anyone. Everyone has a right to their path and kinks and I don't interfere with them. In fact, I make a great deal of money from some of those kinks. But I didn't see this one coming until it was almost too late. The only thing I could do in the end was block her memory and send her to Sebastet. Then I cleaned up the mess left behind. Unfortunately for you, you may wind up dealing with him... Upstairs, in the Club, you have to abide by the rules. So does he. But if he comes for her here, you are free to do as much damage as you want to. I will simply clean up the mess after," she explained everything as calmly as possible, only Varos keeping her from doing anything regrettable with how angry she was over everything.
After another moment of silence she continued, "She has a friend here, Vivian. She's one of the Sniffers," she waved off any explanation since he'd be able to pull the information from Bast as she regained her memory, "One of the rooms here is set up for Vivian. It allows her a place where she can escape for a bit. She will be cautious with you. When you first meet her, explain what you are to Bast. That will help. Past that, give her the space to get used to you," she needed to add that but in because sometimes Vivian still came to sleep in her room here.
"I've made sure that the kitchen is stocked with shifters in mind, so there will be plenty for you to eat. Your luggage will be delivered in a short while. I will tell you that you can trust all of the staff that work in this building. If you have an issue with any of them simply let me or Varos know about it. I should also let you know that he has about six different names he uses, so don't be surprised by it. The manager of the Club is named Garos and he's a trustworthy demon, highly efficient. Wayne is in charge of the Sniffers," she gave him a few more bits that he would need then moved on.
"I have something else that I need you to prepare her for. One of my siblings saved most of her Clan from England. Unfortunately, her parents didn't make it. Her brother did. He's alive. Unfortunately, the way the clan was saved meant that many of the children were aged to varying degrees. Torr is now a fully adult male Hylarr. He's been processing everything since they arrived and has finally gotten his feet under him. He's also been going through a fast tracked training program, so he's just as lethal as his sister," she explained, hoping that he'd understand what she would need to be told.
"You're welcome to find something to do in the Club if you wish to. Just ask Garos about it. Bast will know where to find him. Also, be aware that some that work here have a different name while working, much like Varos does. Bast is known simply as Kitten among the visitors. Staff will know her real name," she added then looked up at Varos as if asking if there was anything else that needed to be discussed.
In the bedroom, Bast slept. But she twitched and moved here and there as her mind supplied fragments of memories, almost like a computer defragmenting a hard drive. Slowly, her memory was restored, one piece at a time. In frames and moments that slowly became days, weeks, months, then years.
Back then, she'd only been at the Club for five years. Then she'd been gone for five years. Back then, she'd made friends, taken a job she'd liked, even got into a relationship. The first two had been a wonderful dream... Until the latter had turned it into a nightmare...
And right now her memory was supplying plenty of the nightmare....
It increased her breathing and made her shift a bit more.
Through the bond, Desmond was getting more and more from her. But he would be able to put the fragmented memories together easier. He knew how she thought. He knew her heart. So organizing her memories would be easier for him right now.
