Sleet Tempest Snape

Noble Vampire

PostPosted: Mon Jul 28, 2025 6:39 am

Name: Rowan Windward

Nickname: None that are appropriate…and they are more insult than nickname anyway.

Gender/Pronoun: Male, he knows this all too well.

Age: 1,159 (looks 18ish though).

Birthday: Not sure, he’s pretty sure it was in the summer though.

Sign: Not a thing on his home planet

Gemstone: He does like shiny things…

Blood Type: Blood is blood.

Fav. Food: He’s not picky, he’s never had a choice in what he eats.

Hated Food: I mean he’s not picky…but anything rotting/spoiled/moldy would be disliked.

School/Occupation: None, he’s new to the planet. Once he figures things out a bit he might try the whole university thing…just because he can (the idea of learning things and being social might become appealing).

Hobbies:

Woodwork: Maybe not a hobby, as it was what he was trained in for a job, but it’s what he worked on in his free time and still works on. Rowan was trained in wood carving and crafting, making furniture, for sale and he is rather good at it. He had learned how to make many things in many different styles and colors, sometimes including gemstones being embedded in things, it took a long time to learn as much as he has, but he’d had a long time to work on his skills.

Gem work: Sometimes people just want gemstones to decorate their bedframe and Rowan can do that, he can do many things with gemstones. From cutting to polishing and setting gemstones there is little Rowan can’t do. It was always a shame he couldn’t keep any of the gemstones he worked with, that he couldn’t use them for anything person, they were so pretty. But he knew better, like everyone else like himself, now though he’s taken to making many things for himself. Taking things apart and reusing the stones for himself…from combs and brushes to decorations.

Metal work: Along with being able to work with wood Rowan can work with various metals, he’s had to, this goes hand in hand with his gem work because while gem stones can be inlaid into wooden furniture gemstones can also be used in jewelry - obviously. So when learning to inlay gemstones he learned how to do settings that worked for necklaces, rings, and other things. While his metal work isn’t as good as his wood work it isn’t bad either, especially given how much time he’s had to practice, and over time it’s become something he’s been doing for himself. Taking pieces of jewelry he finds laying around and he remakes things for himself, using what is available.

Virtues:

Resourceful: Rowan has learned many skills in his life, before and after the fall of the planet, so he’s learned to survive and make do with what is around him. Able to work with his hands and to imagine what things can become, and how to make them what he wants them to be, Rowan has gotten good at making things and scavenging parts from other things.

Sharp: He might be old, by human standards, but that does not mean he suffers from a failing memory as elderly humans do. Quick to pick up on minor details, and keep them in the back of his mind, Athebyne is quick to recall these details when the need arises. This allows him to think on his feet and act quickly in a pinch. He is, because of this, good at learning new skills rather quickly and takes to new jobs/ tasks with amazing ease. It's a matter of pride really.

Flaws:

Push over: Since he was born Rowan was taught to do as he was told, to anticipate and to know his place, and that has not changed. He isn’t the sort to speak up for himself, to make his own personal choices, or to do anything which may step on someone else's toes. He’s quick to apologize for whatever he might have done wrong, even if he didn’t do anything but breath, and it’s really no wonder he’ll do whatever he’s told all while smiling (if you want him to) without a single complaint or issue.

Habitual liar: Rowan is so used to just doing what others want, saying what others want, which has translated into Rowan giving everyone what they want including saying what he thinks/knows they want to hear…whether it’s true or not doesn’t matter - he’ll still say it. It does mean he’s a habitual liar and he’s good at it, it’s hard to tell when someone lies if they don’t have tells or emotions to give them away. The fact that things are different on earth doesn’t matter, it’s hard to break such habits, and so he continues to lie to people with the ease of a well practiced individual…which he is.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Pale green

Hair: Blond a gold decoration in it and maybe a red bead in his hair (things he found once his planet was deserted and he wandered alone).

Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack: Dry Spell
Making a motion with his hand, wiggling his fingers really, Athebyne will call on this magic and with it will come a wave of cold temperature and dry air in a ten foot radius around him. The air feels brittle and stifling, like there is an uncomfortable pressure swirling around them. There is only a faint wind, but the stagnation breeds a deeply unsettling air. This dry monsoon feels like the precursor to something big; there is a palpable unease which can cause anxiety and stress, like the waiting for something to happen but it never does. The dryness can cause discomfort to the skin, sore throat, coughing, or irritated eyes. The uncomfortable pressure and dryness lasts for 30 seconds and can be used three times.

Super Sailor Scout Attack: Dry Season
Making a motion with his hand, wiggling his fingers really, Athebyne will call on this magic and with it will come a wave of cold temperature and dry air in a fifteen foot radius around him. The air feels brittle and stifling, like there is an uncomfortable pressure swirling around them. There is a moderate wind in the distance, but the stagnation of the immediate area breeds a deeply unsettling air. This dry monsoon feels like the precursor to something big; there is a palpable unease which can cause anxiety and stress, like the waiting for something to happen but it never does. The dryness can cause discomfort to the skin, sore throat, coughing, or irritated eyes; targets may also feel fatigue, thirst, or headache. Symptoms can persist after the magic ends at player discretion. The uncomfortable pressure and dryness lasts for 25 seconds and can be used two times.

Eternal Sailor Attack: Drought
Making a motion with his hand, wiggling his fingers really, Athebyne will call on this magic and with it will come a wave of cold temperature and dry air in a twenty foot radius around him. The air feels brittle and stifling, like there is an uncomfortable pressure swirling around them. There is a moderate wind in the distance, but the constantly shifting wind direction breeds a deeply unsettling air. This dry monsoon feels like the precursor to something big; there is a palpable unease which can cause anxiety and stress, like the waiting for something to happen but it never does. Deep Space Senshi: Is 1,159 years old but looks 18 or so years old (Hhis people age normally as toddlers and children and even taangers. It's once they pass their teenage years that they age very slowly. They only start to age again till they come towards the end of their lives, then they suddenly age rapidly and seemingly all at once.) His blood type is -A.

Physical Features: Small fangs (dulled with time so do not give a battle advantage) while having the ears and small tail of a hyena. Slightly tanned skin and somewhat smaller in stature (for his people) as he stands at 5’5”. Lightly muscled, he's more lean than anything. With some henna like (color wise) markings decorating his skin, they are natural and unique to everyone on his planet.

Backstory/History: Many years ago, while the species was still nomadic and living off the land, the biological differences between women and men led to a matriarchal society led by women. Naturally larger and stronger, the women effortlessly dominated major roles and served as leaders and protectors of their packs. Men were often driven out or kept in smaller roles to preserve the functioning dynamics, especially because territory disputes between them culminated in very toxic hormones that could result in extreme aggression that affected men and women alike. The simple solution to preventing these disputes was to prevent the men from being in this situation.

As technology improved and they adapted into a more modern society, the women maintained their dominant roles while the men were usually relegated to subservient roles. By teaching men at a young age to control themselves and avoid taking on too much stress to avoid these outbursts, they hoped to preserve the peace.

While this was often a highly effective method, and men and women were capable of living in relative peace, not all pockets of society shared the same respect for each other, and some regions required men to be in complete subservient roles, forcing them into an immovable caste society where they were always treated as servants, useful only for what they could provide–be it labor or offspring.

Rowan was born into the strictest and most misandrist groups, where boys were raised as servants to their family until they were old enough to be sent to the outer edges, where they lived in small groups together, regulated by the government to ensure that they were functioning members of society. Here, they were expected to mine resources. This was a hard life, and few men ever escaped it.
However, it wasn’t properly regulated, and the deeper they were sent into the mines, the more dangerous things became. No one realized that the men were being exposed to a strange Chaos, which began to alter their biology. Men and women alike began to slowly become less fertile, and the population began to slowly drop.

By the time the numbers were realized, it was already too late. No one could find the source of the strange anomaly, they only knew that it was worse in Rowan’s colony–and it had already begun to spread throughout the rest of the world, too. Worse, impotence was not the only symptom of this sickness. A wasting sickness took them, quickly weakening their body until they passed. First, the old died. Then, the young. Then the healthy adults began to get sick, too. Fear and rage seemed to run rampant, and people even fell into uncontrollable and irrational fits–another sign of sickness that sometimes made them overly aggressive and almost rabid.

Because all previous senshi had been born women, no one thought to look for a man; it was a great surprise when Rowan was discovered to be the senshi. A panic erupted within Rowan’s colony; they once thought the senshi might be able to save them, but now they blamed him for this spreading curse.

Rowan had no choice but to go into hiding while society began to rapidly collapse around him.

With technological advancements, the women of his colony began trying to create clones or other alternative methods of reproducing, but when other colonies learned that they had pushed the senshi into hiding, hostilities erupted between them, eventually leading to war.

Rowan’s colony was quick to sacrifice the men for war and research, but sickness–spread from a Chaos they did not understand, because who would have ever thought to go into the mines to look for the source?--took all of them eventually.
Rowan was emotionally numb, a product of his harsh life as much as the death and suffering he had seen, and the weight of survivor’s guilt. He hid, not knowing what else to do, and only peeked out when the world was silent.

He had avoided war, and labs, and death, but everyone else was gone.

Somehow, he didn’t have it within himself to seek death himself…he just didn’t care enough for that any more. He’d once wanted death, to die before anyone else, but now..now he didn’t care. He decided to explore because he could - because he was free.

And, because a part of him wondered if this was his fault, or if there was some greater curse at hand.

Slowly, his world died around him. The Chaos crept across the world, killing off the people, and then the animals, and then finally even the plants began to die. He was alone on a rotting world–and then, when he looked to the sky, he saw a strange light. A beacon, in a dark world.

He reached for it–and it carried him to Earth.
