Sometimes it’s a tiger, sometimes a monkey, sometimes a chicken. Sometimes it’s something worse. Strange egg clusters have appeared in Destiny City’s parks and officials aren’t really sure what they are; these eggs have nothing inside of them. Though it’s an anomaly, they are chalking it up to teenaged pranks. However, they have advised to just leave the eggs as they are. Nobody wants to say why, but if you’re out late at night, you’ll find out. In the darkness, whispered between the sounds of the city: a guttural, rasping cluck. The creature stands on stilt-like legs, rooted to the ground with razor-sharp talons. It wears a cloak of long, oily feathers that drag on the ground with a sinister scraping. If you stare into the darkness, piercing red eyes stare back at you. That’s all it takes for a confrontation: a mangled bird, maybe a chicken in another life, comes barreling out at you. It stands easily as tall as a person, but the proportions are all wrong. The smell of sulfur follows it as it lunges, pecking and screaming and scratching as it attempts to chase you away. Maybe, from the nests full of empty eggs. The battles are fierce, but fleeting; it will viciously try to chase you away but the effects are always the same: at some point, the eggs are crushed. As always, there’s nothing inside of them, but with one final wail, the bird will vanish into a plume of foul smoke. Note: If you choose to encounter one of these bird-like creatures, your character will recognize they are not youma. It is impossible to tell if it is a single entity or if there are many. The bird does not seem to understand or care to listen to human words. It will always disappear in a malodorous plume of smoke and leave nothing but a foul odor and a clutch of empty, broken eggs behind. This RP can be used as a battle requirement as long as there are two powered characters involved; you must be interacting with another player’s powered character. This does not count as the one youma battle per stage for growth so characters can still use an NPC youma battle as well as this one for growth purposes. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt. With everything that was weird going on in the city, Florian felt more comfortable with Angel coming to his shop, especially since an odd sound had been coming from where the dumpsters were. It didn't sound normal, so he wasn't about to look into it on his own. Back up was needed, and Angel was really good with both a broom and the stick that they had while powered up. It had been embarrassing that all he had was a flower, but it wasn't like he could have chosen things. There were still a bunch of questions he had, but for now, he was fine just feeling his way through it all when he got time, and the other was free to tag along. Tonight, the noises had grown louder, and a few customers had mentioned something rummaging through the dumpster. So with a text shot off to the other, Florian busied himself with sweeping up the floor of his flower shop and waiting.

Angel was never one to turn down an invitation from a cute boy. Especially when said cute boy happened to be the one at the flower shop that had occupied his thoughts so often recently. So when he got a text from Florian asking him to come by, he didn't hesitate. Shooting a fast text back with a thumbs up and a smiley face, Angel made his way over, a bounce in his step. He didn't mind that it was for potential monster extermination, he was just happy to get to spend time with Florian. Smiling to himself, he headed inside the shop. "So what seems to be the trouble? Or did you just miss seeing me~?" He was incorrigible and he knew it, but he couldn't help himself. Something about Florian drew him in and made him want to do more than just flirt. His sister had pointed it out, he had a bit of an anxiety attack over it, but he was starting to come to terms with the fact he really might actually have feelings for this boy.

Florian had just finished up with the dustpan and had started on checking all the plants for spots and places that might need some trimming. Most of them were doing well, even if some plants had been sitting longer than others, he'd been good about rotating them to make sure they didn't get burned by the lighting or anything. Turning his face slightly to hide the embarrassment about missing the other, he wouldn't outright deny that, but he was still getting used to the other being around and being so very persistent. It wasn't too bad, but he was still figuring things out and how he might bring up certain things to the other. That wasn't the issue for today, though, and after a moment, he looked over at Angel. "I'm not sure, but there might be something in the alley behind the shop. I thought if it was one of those monsters.... maybe it would be better if you were around." Trying not to bring up the exact reason why, even as he tried to hide slightly.

"Hmmmm that didn't sound like a no to me~." Angel grinned at him, unable to help himself when it came to teasing Florian just a little. Though his expression sobered when a monster was mentioned. "Guess that means we should power up huh?" He glanced at the door and walked over to lock it, not wanting any random civilians to come in in the middle of this, especially if it really was a monster. Transforming into Kaisariani, he rolled his shoulders and eyed the back door. "Ready when you are." He twirled his stick in his hand, wondering what fresh hell this city had decided to place in the back alley. From what he gathered, this time of year had all sorts of nonsense cropping up in the worst ways at the worst time and place, and he wasn't about to let Florian get hurt by any of it.

Nodding slightly, he brushed some of the loose strands of his hair back out of his face before looking back over. He'd heard the door lock and took that as a sign to do the same, powered up, and, feeling still a bit unsure of how he felt in the outfit he had to wear with this kind of thing. It was a little more form-fitting than he liked, even with all the little floral bits, but he followed the other towards the back door, grabbing the broom just in case, since it would be better than his flower. "It's probably better to get rid of it, right? Hopefully, it won't cause too many people trouble." Hesitating slightly, he tried to stand on his toes to look out the small window on the back door to see if he could see anything, even with Angel right there. Nothing was directly in front of the door, which was good, so he felt a bit better that nothing would run right into the shop and cause trouble.
"Ready, I guess..." Pushing the door open slightly, he kept the broom in hand and looked out and around. There were some odd spots of tar on the ground, almost like someone had dropped some while walking and the smell was much stronger now that he wasn't in the shop. "Oh... I don't like that smell one bit." Rubbing at his nose slightly, he felt like it would take a thousand showers to get out of his nose.

Kaisariani smiled fondly over at Schwetz, taking just a brief moment to admire how lovely he was before turning his attention to the door as it was opened. Immediately his nose scrunched in displeasure. "Eugh. I'm with you on that. That smells disgusting." He pressed the back of his hand against his nose, holding tight to the unassuming stick that his powers granted him. He still thought a stick was ridiculous, but having met at least one other poor guy like him who literally looked like he had a twig he picked up off the ground, he didnt feel quite as bad. Taking a few tentative steps out into the alley, Kaisariani looked around before crouching by one of the puddles of the tar like substance. Prodding at it with his stick, he made a face of disgust as it clung to the wood when he pulled it away. "That's just plain disgusting.... Careful not to get any of this on you." His stomach turned a little both from the texture of it and the stench. "What in the hell even made this stuff?"Standing back up, he turned back to the other Page. "Aside from the nasty mystery goo, do you see anything else? Anything that could have been making the weird sounds?" For all Angel knew, maybe there was something he was just overlooking, but from where he was standing with his back to the rest of the alley, he very clearly didn't see the grotesque creature round the corner and c**k its head, observing both boys. Today, he was apparently zero out of ten in the awareness category.

Following behind, he kept looking around at the other little spots of oil slick and tar. Though when Kaisariani poked it with their weapon, his stomach did a little flip, and he looked away. "It looks like oil run off from a car, but it smells like bad grease from a restaurant after it's been sitting." Neither thing was good nor appetizing, but it felt like a good enough description as he looked at another few spots around that were half behind some of the empty boxes and trash piled by the dumpsters. While he didn't really see anything at first, he could have sworn something moved, and he held the broom ahead slightly as he walked around to the other side of the pile of boxes. Something moved, sending some of the cardboard sliding, and he yelped and swung out at the pile. His face pinkened at the noise he made before something else moved, and an unholy and not quite bird-like sound came from the pile ase the broomstick came back with black goo on it. "Uh!!!!!!! Kai!!!!!"

The smell really did turn Kaisariani's stomach and made him rub his face, as if he could wipe it away. It truly was positively nasty, and he was thankful the inside of the flower shop would hopefully be a pleasant reprieve once they took care of.... Whatever was out there. If it had been any other time, Kaisariani would have taken a moment to appreciate the sound Schwetz made. Maybe even teased him a little. But the way his name was said had Kaisariani turning and looking in horror. "Well. s**t. The kid wasn't ******** with me when he said there were demon chickens. I'll be damned." While his voice portrayed a calm demeanor, internally he was screaming. A freaking demon chicken. Of all the nasty things. Shuddering, Kaisariani turned to face the creature as it emerged, reaching for his partners hand to pull him back closer to him. Purely to protect him, of course. Absolutely. Not because he was freaked the hell out and wanted a tiny bit of comfort. Not at all. "I'd say it looks like chicken is on the menu for tonight, but I don't think anything in this world can make it appetizing." Because deflecting with a bad joke was always the best idea. Swinging his stick, he cracked it against the creatures head like he was hitting a baseball. It made a sickening thud as it seemed to squelch into the tar like substance and Kai thought for a second he might be sick. "Oh god...."

Jumping slightly when Kaisariani grabbed his hand and pulled him back, he didn't really hesitate to move away from the thing as it emerged in its disgusting grossness. "Oh my god, you said someone saw more of these?" Just this one was disgusting enough but if there were more of them, he definitely didn't want to cross any of them while out. Gagging slightly both at the joke and the sound the thing made when getting hit, he turned and leaned over into the dumpster to dry heave and try not to lose his lunch. "I don't want to see it! Is it done for?" Whining slightly, being a bit more himself in this moment instead of his usual polite but semi-closed off demeanor, he trusted the other to check or at least cover it up so he wouldn't have to look at it. Already, he tossed the broomstick down near the pile of trash because no matter how much he cleaned it, he had a feeling that ick would always be there.

"Yeah, a kid I ran into said he faced off against one. I thought he was full of s**t when he said demon chickens but uh. Apparently he was very serious. I owe him an apology."Kai managed to shoot an apologetic look towards Schwetz before turning his attention back to the creature. Giving it one more really good whack, the creature seemed to almost melt into the ooze. "Ugh....yeah, it's gone. And my lunch might follow if we don't get out of this alley." Kai walked over and lightly put a hand on his back, rubbing gently as he guided him inside before powering down. "Power down now that we're inside. The smell shouldn't cling that way. Sit down and I'll grab you some water or something okay? I've got you."
