Tsuna Miki

Lottie knew the right words, tone, and posture to finally calm Micha'el down, she was his soulmate after all. As he regulated his breathing finally holding the two of them close, Tsuna knew she had to do everything in her power to protect them. He apologized, even though there was no need, and did as instructed. Exhaustion took over and Micha'el drifted to sleep letting Tsuna release a breath of relief. Transforming into her Therian form, she was able to lift Micha'el from the ground with ease and place him onto the bed. De-transforming, she dapped the sweat from his brow with her sleeve unbothered by the wet strain it created. She then turned to Lottie and wrapped her arms around her pulling her in close as she whispered in her ear trying hard not to disturb Micha'el's slumber. "Listen, I know it doesn't make sense now and goes against everything you think you know, but just believe he has a brother. He needs our support and love more than ever...I'm going to set things right. I have to go dig up more information. Stay here with him and rest, okay. I'll be back soon." Tsuna pulled away and gave Lottie a compassionate look before heading towards the door. She hated putting so much weight onto Lottie's shoulders and felt like she had been taking her for granted. She was the glue that literally held Team Sun together, and she couldn't even fathom a life without her.

Closing the door slowly until is barely clicked shut, Tsuna exhaled another shaky breath before searching around for Nyru. He couldn't have strayed far as she called out his name heading towards the deck. "Nyru? Where are you?" She walked out into the open sea air and its therapeutic nature began to sooth her nerves. She looked up into the night sky seeing clusters upon clusters of stars trying to find the one that Micha'el was talking about. However, "the star" could mean something else and not a literal star, but the way Micha'el had been gazing at the night sky lately confirmed her speculations. She wondered if that Captain might know about astrology being out on the sea constantly and possibly using the stars as a guide to sail.

Lottie sat beside Micha'el on the bed. He was still sweating, and his cheeks were damp and pale as a ghost. But at least now he was breathing calmly and asleep, eyes closed and resting. She turned to face Tsuna when she explained the situation as briefly as she could for now. Lottie nodded first. "I believe you" she said, eyes glazed but not tearful. "I believe Micha'el. He just... never brought it up. Yeah, go ahead. I won't go anywhere. And if you see that... Prince..." Lottie looked away and back towards Micha'el. She put a hand on his. "Tell him he's not wanted. Not now. And not ever."

"I asked young Statem to to grab a meal for you all" a voice said from behind Tsuna. Captain Fenmaw appeared at her side and leaned against the edge of the ship to take in the view with her. "Can't be going w'out supper. And he appeared anxious." Fenmaw glanced slightly towards her, "now I won't go pryin', it's none of my business. But I do believe a hearty meal does wonders for the mind and soul. We Therians can get hungry, all that transforming at will 'n all."

Tsuna Miki

As Tsuna peered out into the seas over the ship railing she took Lottie's words into consideration. For now one she'll only fraternize with the Prince, he just didn't know when to keep his mouth shut. Plus, she was probably the only one to handle his brazen attitude along with her own. It wasn't long until Fenmaw joined her stating that Nyru left to get them something to eat. She didn't think about it, but she was starving. The Captain mentioned that he looked anxious and after the conversation they all had she'd bet he was. Fenmaw promised he wouldn't pry, but believed food would lift their spirits as well as satisfy her since changing uses up so much energy. She honestly didn't know much about herself, especially as a newly changed Therian. She had so many questions about it, but knew if she delve to deep into one topic she'd neglect the other. Right now her focus was on finding Micha'el's star. Tsuna smiled slightly and teased, "I'd like you to pry a little. My friend, Micha'el, said something about a star earlier and I figured you may be just the right person to ask. Are there any special stars in the sky tonight? One that might stand out?" Tsuna began searching, but she couldn't see any differences between them other than some stars looked a little brighter than other.

Alaric followed Tsuna's gaze. She was peering out into the night sky, examining the stars the were scattered across the endless expanse. He pondered her question for a long moment, recalling the constellations he knew and the various important stars for navigating the seas. Alaric mumbled. "Well - the only important star out tonight is the North star over there" he pointed northwards, where a bright, large star shun in the distance. "O'er there would be the Crownless King" he gestured off to the side, where a cluster of stars couldn't be identified from one or the other. "Though its too early in the year for that star... it's faded, barely shining through beneath a crown of askew stars. It first appeared when our ancient King Zurrakis sacrificed his throne in Southmarch to save our ancestors." He continued to look around. "That there be the Felthane, the emerald flame and o'er yonder is the Hermit Lantern. See - above that wounded star." He gestured east towards a silver star, it shimmered slightly. "Apparently the prophets in Zakernand watch that thing all the time. Us, mind you, think of it as the East Star." The space beneath it looked as though a star had once existed, but burst and was pierced by something arching downwards towards the Earth. All that was left was a twilit aura in the cosmos beneath the Hermit Lantern. Huffing nonchalantly as he resigned and shook his head softly. "That be all I think, Miss Tsuna. Is your friend from Zakernand? Though I have to say he looks more like one of those angel-folk. Not that I ever spoken to one. Though any friend is good to have, and to see you have a friend is good to see."

Tsuna Miki

After a few minutes of collecting his thoughts, the Captain took her on a tour through the stars. He first pointed out the Northern Star, the brightest and biggest one in the sky tonight. He then directed her over to a cluster of barely identifiable stars named the Crownless King. According to him it was to early in the year for that constellation to appear, but the story behind it was inspiring. It first made appearance after the Therian's ancient King, Zurrakis, abdicated the throne of Southmarch to save their ancestors. Tsuna gazed in wonderment until he turned her attention to a star named Felthane, or Emerald Flame. Just beyond that was the Hermit's Lantern, it rested above a long combusted star shimmering a slight silver. He noted that the prophets of Zakernand watched the formation consistently, but to them it was just simply the Eastern Star. The star left behind a twilight aura in the cosmos that stretched downward beneath the Hermit's Lantern. That was all the ones he could point out before asking about Micha'el's origins. He was rather angelic, but he didn't hail from there so she shook her head. The Captain knew having friends was important, but to see her with friends was even more so. The way he spoke stroked a cord with her and she turned to him confused. "For a minute there, if I'm not mistaken Captain, you sounded as if you've known me. Have we met before?" She may have been reaching, but something in her gut told her that they were connected somehow and not just be lineage.

The wise old man smiled under his salt and pepper beard. He nodded slowly, as if confirming what Tsuna had asked him. "Once, a long time ago." Alaric was still staring out into the sea, watching the waves pass beneath the ship. He recalled in his mind the memories of days long gone. "I gave your parents safe passage to Magic Earth. That was after they had already spent time on this very ship. Otherearth was our oyster. Eventually - you were their pearl. I honestly didn't expect to see you again, not after giving you and your father safe passage to Magic Earth. But - that tail of yours was unmistakable. Never before had there been a Therian like you. I was the one that told your father about Hope Academy. Tell me, Tsuna. How is Ash? He hasn't dropped by for some years now. Last I 'eard he was heading back to Otherearth for something inportant."

Tsuna Miki

In the next couple of minutes she felt like she was drowning in a sea of memories. The Captain did know through her parents whom worked and boarded his ship years ago. He helped them throughout their lifetime, and even saved her life as a baby by granting safe passage for her father. To him, her appearance was unmistakable and everyone she's come across has either been fascinated or horrified. He was the one whom suggested Hope Academy and without his interference she wouldn't be where she is now. There are probably multiple timelines where something could have changed, but in a way, she was glad that it was this timeline she was stuck in. Suddenly, he asked about her father's whereabouts probably missing his dear friend. Tsuna's heart sank and her lips quivered trying to find the courage to tell him what she knew. "He's dead." She almost whispered the phrase still not believing that it was true. Shakely, she continued on. "He died right in front of me...on Team Sun's very first mission...its been two years now." She grabbed the front of her jacket gripping onto it trying to hold herself together. "I wish he would have told me...about the past...about you...about her...but he didn't...." Tears flowed down her cheeks as she began to sob uncontrollably. "Did he even love me?" She questioned herself because her father did love her deep down. However, everything on the surface level was all darkness that she was kept in until things were revealed to her much later.

"Oh..." Alaric's shoulder sank. He watched the waves splashing against the side of the boat, foaming and turning into white before vanishing again entirely. "Two years?" he softly asked, turning his head to look at Tsuna. As she began to ramble and cry he felt himself move before he could think. He pulled her in and wrapped his arms around her, leaning down to bring his tall stature down a little. "Don't be asking silly questions like that, lass" Alaric's rough voice came from above her shoulder. "Your father loved you more than anything else. He would have had his reasons, not ever secret is out of hate or spite. Sometimes it is fear - or love. T' protect those that are close to us." Alaric remained still, squeezing her gentle to reassure her, and allowing her to choose when to let go. He allowed this moment to take a moment of solace himself. He had just lost a friend... two years ago without ever knowing. Though he supposed he had suspected that something happened. He just never allowed the thought to be real. Tsuna, now, was all he had left of his two dearest friends.

"I can tell you about them, Ash and Seraph. But first - you need supper. And rest."

Tsuna Miki

The Captain hugging her was almost identical to being embraced by her father again. She buried herself into his salty coat and bristled fur as he imparted her with wisdom she had heard once before. Solomon told her the same thing before she left, but hearing it from the Captain felt more valid. The loss of her parents affected her just as much as him knowing now that they all had a history. She held onto him for a bit nodding acknowledging to him as she soon calmed down and collected herself. Hesitantly, she detached herself swiping away some stray tears as the Captain reassured her that he would share all that he knew about them. First though, she needed food and rest and feeling the aching pain in her empty stomach and the tiredness in her eyes setting in he was right. "I'd like that." She replied softly when she heard Nyru approaching them with a basket of food. She smiled gingerly to him and meet him half way taking the basket. "Thanks for not taking off." Tsuna really was appreciative of him and the Captain before walking off back to the cabin to check on Lottie and Micha'el.
