The eastern coastland was a mostly flat land of grass as far as the eye could see, stretching every forward until the jagged, rocky cliff edges that outlined the exposed sandy beaches. From it, the skyline of Entei could be seen, to the north, the coastline was flatter, and to the south, one could make out the coastline becoming more difficult to traverse. The 13th Arcane Battalion touched down atop the guard tower of the White Bastion, an ancient, defensive fort left behind from the days of the Burning Invasion. The bastion itself hung onto the edge of a steep hill, with great polished stone archways emerging from the earth below to create a large platform. Back then, the Order of Injustira would have scouted the nearby coast for incoming attack, and would have defended it from within the near-impenetrable walls that lined the ground further below, which now houses arcane turrets. Behind this platform, built against a rocky formation, was the re-purposed tower. Half-way up the polished stone is mixed with tall, carved sections of pure arcane crystal, creating a thick stained-glass effect. At the top of the tower was a pavilion surrounded in a wrap-around balcony that had several more arcane turrets, put together with metal and crystal, manned by guards. Hovering atop the entire structure was its own arcane crystal. As Adelia descended beside it, she could feel the thrum of energy it gave off. She couldn't help but feel as though its magnificent power reached out to her whenever she passed one of these things.
"Status report!" Adelia commanded, "where is the commanding officer of this regiment?" The nearby guard stationed at his turret glanced down at her, unsure of what to say, when a chiselled man, perhaps in his 40's, stepped out of the pavilion. "Why exactly should I report to a group of students from the academy? Look around, the Scarred invade our coast like it was their own stomping ground." Valeye, with eyes trained to see far away, peered out over the balcony to see the attack. In the distance she could identify the battle. Hordes of scarred enemies were invading the land on-foot, and up above she could see winged beasts dropping further reinforcements. Adelia however was staring up at the Lieutenant. "Very well then, Lieutenant" she said, her voice as stern as that of a child could muster. "13th Arcane Battalion, we are returning to the Grand Mage, it appears hierarchy is not followed here." The Lieutenant went stiff, stuttering as he said "No, no! We summoned reinforcements and we appreciate your quick arrival from the academy. I just-" "You just, what, Lieutenant?" "... Captain Verstoßen, you are much younger than I expected, your reputation precedes you." "Whilst you humble me, I advise you keep your opinion quiet on the battlefield - it will bring clarity to mind when you fight the enemy to the bitter end. Now to get to the point, what are we facing?" "Aerial beast units in the higher atmosphere, Captain, they were spotted 20 minutes ago and have since allowed carried Scarred units to make landfall." Adelia scowled, turning to face the balcony herself as she watched the advancing enemy push through the line of turret fire up ahead. Blue, glowing bullets shot through the air and exploded on impacted. "How is that so many units are come from the sky, Lieutenant? Your cannon's should be able to intercept them before causing an issue with mid-air explosions?" "That is the problem... the enemy reinforcements are being summoned by the aerial drop-offs. We don't have the land units available to proceed."
It was then that they all watched on as one of the soldiers at his turret announced that he could see another batch of beasts flying in the sky. All nearby turrets turned, whirring to life as the combination of magic and engineering launched a volley of arcane missiles into the sky. Adelia waited with bated breath as she watched the missiles explode into a bright blue light, followed by black cloud and falling, burnt bodies. But then she gripped the balcony's edge tightly as she saw one of the beasts make it through. It was a gigantic-bat-like creature, a demon she suspected, and in it's claws was a tiny figure, a scarred abomination no doubt. It had two glowing red hands - no... "Valeye! What is that scarred holding?!" she commanded, watching the figure fall through the sky towards the ground below. "Red crystals, Captain!" Valeye responded, holding up a silver set of binoculars with blue lenses. "they're... emitting a powerful energy!" Then, the scarred figure landed on the ground, no doubt breaking it's legs as it did so, rolling to a stop. Adelia expected it to give up, but instead it pushed itself up, brought its hands together high above its head, brought the crystals down deep into the earth on either side of itself. As it did, it's hands caught alight with demon fire, a bloody-red, soot-filled flame that consumed its arms and body in a few moments. An archway grew from the earth beneath it made from black stone, and as it's body turned to ash a red portal tore open within it. Adelia's eyes widened as Valeye confirmed the sight. "Portals Captain! They're opening portals!" "Well then, it appears we have quite the battle ahead of us. 13th Battalion, we go to the sky and intercept any and all demons. Follow me!"
As Adelia's team shot off into the sky once more, the reinforcements from Merlin Academy arrived in beamed of blue magic that cascaded into the bastion like an explosion of falling stars. What was once a mostly empty square, suddenly became filled with various teams of students all wielding their weapons. Aoi and her team touched down a few feet away from the Onsen Twins and JayBird. She gripped her arcane wand that Alexis Truesvale gifted her tightly in her hand, staring out into the distance to see the battle they would be fighting. Adelia's voice could be heard ringing out across the sky, amplified by magic. "Attention all Merlin Academy reinforcements! Engage the enemy on the front lines, then seek and destroy all demonic structures to control enemy numbers! My team will focus on enemies in the sky! Any teams that excel in aerial combat, accompany us and provided assistance to allied combatants whilst not engaging flying enemies!"
With that, the balcony walls unfolded to revealed a large launching platform for the students to make their own, personalised exit from the bastion down to the fields below. Kotaro and Kaito turned to JayBird, ignoring the ugly sight of the female twins nearby, as Kaito said "JB - this is a perfect time to show everyone your advancements in gravity magic."
“Soldiers, go forth! Bring absolute extermination! There's only one thing to do, create a living Hell!”
“⟣Peace and tranquillity, let alone reconciliation, are the acts of domestic dogs who're forsaken their fangs! I haven't forgotten my thousands of scars, the flame's heat... spilling organs, final cries... clouded eyes... ahh, those are the things I truly seek!⟢”

JayBird Song Even after trying the comfort them, the twins continued to extort him until the school's emergency alarms rang out. Along with the 13th Arcane Battalion, whom were given explicit direction from Alexis Truesvale herself, all students were called into action. The twins were obviously irritated that their spectacle was ruined, meanwhile, he was secretly relieved as they pulled out their devices. Using the teleportation tool built into the device, arcane surrounded them and transported them via balls of light that rained down in the new location like shooting stars. When JayBird opened his eyes, a chaotic battlefield lay before him. Rayra and Rysette didn't end up far from them and neither did Aoi's team which gave him some stability. They landed in the empty square of the White Bastion which was an ancient, defense ruin left from the Burning Invasion. It acted as a watch tower long the coastal shoreline to watch for sea and aerial attacks. Most attempts were intercepted before any damage could threaten them. The land was most flat grass lands that stretched out into a jagged cliff that lined the beach. The bastion itself was imbedded in a steep hillside accompanied with polished stone archways to get across. The Order of Injustira used this place for scouting preserving its almost impenetrable walls that now housed the arcane turrets. There was a re-purposed tower where guards manned the balcony, but they were impossible to see through the windows of arcane crystal that looked like thick stained-glass. The 13th Arcane Battalion took off from there when their young leader announced the tactical plan.
The twins turned to him, especially Kaito stating his confidence in JayBird's gravitation abilities. JayBird immediately shook his head and stepped back, "I'm not as great as you think I am, Kaito. I've hardly made any progress in controlling both of my magics at the same time." After the Winter Tournament at Hope Academy, he took what Maverly said to heart and practiced everyday on his own. However, his success was dismal and he was begging to lose faith in himself. The last thing he wanted was to let them down, as well as the companions that he has come to know around him. He glanced back at the battlefield and saw one of the demon-winged creatures release another creature that plummeted onto the sand. Even from far away, glowing red objects could be seen within its clutches before the Scarred buried them into the sand. The beasts would disintegrate in a red flame as a black stone archway rose up in its place. Red light filled the archways giving birth to portals for more enemies to come through. Every second they stand there the more the invasion grows, so if the twins wanted him to shine it was now. He wasn't a tactician like Tsuna, he noticed how she directed her team so flawlessly during the competition. He did compromise an idea, one that may work if everyone could stand together. He remembered how Rayra and Rysette recommended he join them because their magic complimented his. Now really thinking about it, that wasn't a bad idea at all!
JayBird passed Kataro and Kaito walking right up to Rayra and Rysette whom looked amazed and stunned. "I knew you'd choose us!" Rysette nearly jumped for join until JayBird interrupted. "I am...to work with me and the Onsen Twin...and...Aoi Team." The girl's stared at him mouths agape before screaming. "What!" JayBird closed his eyes and breathed deeply before asserting some authority. Normally he wasn't so outgoing, but when it was a matter of life and death he choose to fight regardless of his odds. "Please listen to me for once!" He looked between the girl's as well as his own teammates raising his voice for the first time. When he had their attention, he looked to Aoi knowing he had alerted her and her team. He waved them over until all of them were in earshot of one another. "It doesn't matter who hates who, we have to ban together for our school and fellow students. I can't fight or even extend my magic without help. Just this once, okay."
JayBird brushed back his messy hair before looking to Rayra and Rysette again. "Rayra, if you combine your singing magic with Aoi's you two can enhance everyone's abilities. You two will stay on the rear end and be covered by the rest of us. Rysette, you'll be in front of them defending from any demons that come close to your sister and Aoi. Carmelia will be in front of Rysette for extra support while Kuroyuri takes the right and Sagiso takes the left. Kataro and Kaito will be in front of all of them and behind me. You two are the best at switching from attack to defense in seconds. With my magic I can make a pathway for us to get to the portals. We need to take those out more than anything if we want to reduce the enemy numbers....I know I'm asking a lot, but its the best I can think of for now." Rysette and Rayra glanced at one another acknowledging their pact as Rayra voiced, "I'm in, but only because Birdy asked. This doesn't mean were friends or anything." Rysette flipped her hair at Aoi and Kaito, "Just don't out shine us." JayBird rolled his eyes and defused the situation quickly before the bickering could start. "No one is out shining anyone. We're a team...a unit. One for all and all for one. Now is everyone in or not." He placed his hand out as the two twins set aside their pettiness placing their hands on top of his.

“✴ No gods. No kings. Only calculations. My curse is control. My power is leashed. I follow not because I believe — but because rebellion costs more than it pays. ✴”
Aoi and her team hurried over, preparing their weapons as they listened in on what JayBird had to say. Carmelia raised a brow, taking a stance like some supermodel in a vogue magazine as she wondered what on Magic Earth this quite boy could have to suggest. Aoi meanwhile listened carefully, eager to hear the plan. Sagiso and Kuroyuri make eye contact with the male twins, grimacing as they looked away to find the other twins and grimaced a second time, looking at each other before tuning in to JayBird's tactics. He intended for Aoi and Rarya to sing together, joining their voices into one harmony as songstresses. Aoi let out a gasp of approval, looking over to the tall woman and suddenly looking away. Carmelia nodded, accepting her placement with Rysette without much of a second thought. Kuroyuri and Sagiso agreed too, preparing for their attack. The Onsen Twins were waiting eagerly, but were surprisingly quiet until finally it came to their roles in the plan. "Correct" Kotaro replied, happy for their skills to be recognised. "An apt tactical plan" Kaito agreed, clenching his fist, "we can survive battling alongside you all for this war." Rysette them remarked about them not outshining the girls, to which Kotaro raised a brow and said "oh don't worry, you're absolutely blinding already." However, JayBird quickly forced them to stop the bickering and accept their roles in this plan. Aoi was then first to follow him when placing her hand above his, "I'm in!" she said eagerly, followed by the twins, and then the rest of Aoi's team. The Onsen Twins then gave in to the stomach-churning level of teamwork and placed their hands in too. "Let's go!" Aoi announced as the team of 9 ran towards the balcony's edge.
As they neared, arcane magic dusted the floor and caressed their feet, generating energy to be expelled upon jumping, launching all of the students into the sky, already in their designated spots so as to be ready the moment they landed near the beaches that the Scarred were being summoned. The Onsen Twins, preparing for JayBird's gravity magic, gave some loud words of wisdom in the air, speaking in unison, "BEND THE LAWS OF GRAVITY ON THE GROUND, USE WHAT EXISTS, NO NEED TO CONJURE SOMETHING NEW!" The advice was half meant honestly, and half out of desperation as they were taken off guard by the shear force of the arcane magic launching them from the White Bastion behind them. ((I hope you don't mind this!))
The rush of the air was over in just a few moments as each of the group touched down on the ground, assuming their positions. The Onsen Twins stood side-by-side, placing one hand together as they mirrored each other and pulled away, summoning their weapons from a flash of light between them. Kotaro swung round, taking a kneel to aim at some Scarred rushing by his side as let loose several bullets that pierced through flesh. Kaito mimicked him in the other direction, slashing out with his sword in a wide arc that left a trail of magic and struck through a group of enemies. Meanwhile, Sagiso ran a hand through his coral hair before revealing his fist weapons, whilst Kuroyuri pulled out two clean and simple daggers made of single pieces of metal from end to end, etched with symbols along their edge and tipped with tiny blue crystals. Behind them, Carmelia pulled out her bright red pistol, transforming it into a long red whip that snapped through the air with a red crystal at it's tip. Then, following the female twins behind her, Aoi glanced at Rarya nervously, but swallowed her shyness and smile. She then turned to Sagiso who was up ahead and shouted "ready!". Without further command, he planted his hands into the ground and with a flash of blue light arcane magic he lifted up his hands as if lifting up the very earth itself. As he did so, two pillars of earth rose from the ground and lifted both the girls up a few feet, giving them clearance from the ground so that the others might protect them a little more easily whilst the team stretched into the battlefield. If the girls had to move, Sagiso would be keeping watch whenever possible to create new platform infused with arcane magic. Aoi pulled out her wand, which doubled as a mic, began to sing.
"Someone calling you.... someone calling you... can't you hear the voice?" her voice was like velvet, as if the heavens had opened and cut through the darkness. Blue light dusted around the team before clinging to their skin and vanishing, filling them with a renewed vitality... "now it's time to go... show your bravery!" She turned to Rarya, ready to join their voices and let the battle commence.
“Soldiers, go forth! Bring absolute extermination! There's only one thing to do, create a living Hell!”

JayBird Song Finally, everyone was on the same page, or at least he hoped, but now was the time for battle. They all gathered at the launch pad where arcane magic caressed their feet. The magic was so aggressive to the point where it sent JayBird and the twins flying faster than intended. They shouted words of advice behind him which he took into consideration noticing the speed they were accumulating downward. Following their instructions, he used the natural gravitation pull towards the ground and slowed them enough to have a solid landing. The beach sand helped sense it wasn't hard earth and would cushion the students landings. Rayra and Rysette had practically no trouble as they both spun through the air acrobatically landing in unison with a bit of flair. Aoi's team also made it down perfectly and without hesitation all of them progressed into the war zone.
Behind him, the Onsen Twin mirrored each other before stepping to either side and summoning their weapons. Kotaro wasted no time spinning around and coming to a kneel as he released a volley of bullets piercing the flesh of several Scarred nearby. Kaito mimicked his brother and sent a slashing arch of magic from his sword into a heap of enemies. Sagiso brushed back his coral hair and revealed his double gauntlets, meanwhile, Kuroyuri pulled out two daggers that attached to one another. Symbols etched the edge and tiny blue crystals stuck out on the ends of Kuroyuri's weapon. Carmerlia's weapon was a bright red pistrol that transformed into a long whip with red crystals at the end like Kuroyuri's daggers. If he looked real closely, yellow crystals were imbedded in the knuckles of Sagiso's gauntlets. (I know you didn't say he had crystals but I thought you'd like the idea to make the team more cohesive. If not you can totally ignore this part!) The crystals within their weapons must have channeled their magical capabilities. Rysette hung back with her sister and Aoi beginning to tune her transparent guitar. The instrument had arcane magic within it and it would glow in small bursts of purple when she strummed the strings until it fully lit up when she found a tune. Rayra adjusted her headset, it didn't look like much but a small pink crystal was in place of a mic giving her all the vocal power she needed.
Aoi shyly looked to her new singing partner before commanding Sagiso to help them out in case of an emergency. Slamming his gauntlet into the sand, two pillars of earth raised up beneath Rayra and Aoi lifting them a few feet from the ground. This way they could focus on their singing and not be distracted by the fight around them. Aoi summoned her wand that transformed into a mic stand and began flooding their ears with her velvety voice. Blue light enveloped them before disappearing leaving them all rejuvenated and ready for a long battle. Rayra bounced her head softly to the beat until her turn came where she erupted into full fast-paced pop rap number. "You hear what were sayin! The magic so bangin! Up, down, here, and all around, let your essence flow! Don't stop now let's go!" Her dancing was sporadic like a J-pop artist as Rysette quickly picked up the beat and stummed through a solo after her sister's set before the two joined in chorus. "Someone's calling you...someone's calling you...can't you hear the voice? Find your bravery!"
JayBird could feel magic surging through him and it was welling up to the point where it had to be let loose. Raising his hand, his blue eye glowed furiously as a massive wave of lightning shot out before him. It tore through the beach sand turning it to shards of glass jetting out from the earth do to the eminence heat. Any enemies in its path were electrified to a crisp. The damp sand and water lapping at the shore carried his magic taking down a significant amount of Scarred. He'd never felt power like this before, although he didn't want to become over zealous with his magic. A pathway had opened up to them and JayBird waved them onwards seeing the first portal in sight. "If we can just make it to that portal I can use my gravitation magic to pull out the red crystals implanted in the sand. Carmelia, Sagiso, and Kuroyuri can help take down the archway while Kotaro and Kaito destroy the crystals!" JayBird ran forward zapping any approaching enemies with his lightning until the made it to the portal. Switching to his gravitation magic, he focused on the crystal's underneath picking up the fate humming. Reached out his palm and raised it upwards as if he was pulling on invisible strings. The sand was diffcult because it was shifty, but Rysette's guitar strumming shook the earth all around the area despite it not being felt. The crystals began to give and poke out of the sand as the others handled the archway. If thing came through, the twins knew to dispatch of it until JayBird was able to get the crystals.

“✴ No gods. No kings. Only calculations. My curse is control. My power is leashed. I follow not because I believe — but because rebellion costs more than it pays. ✴”
Aoi's eyes lit up the moment that Rarya joined in, her eyes practically dazzled as Rarya changed the beat and broke out into a pop pre-chorus. Meanwhile, Rysette joined in with her guitar, letting loose a torrent of thunderous notes before the two songstresses joined together in chorus. Aoi could've squealed had she not have been focusing so much, and this was also the first time she experienced the effects of a songstress! She could feel her body energised and her vocal chords ready to sing endlessly. As their song continued, she would sing her chorus in the background whilst giving Rarya the spotlight.
JayBird pointed out a portal, and the Onsen twins quickly reacted by following him forwards and defending him from oncoming fire, then striking back at foes that overstepped. JayBird then let loose a torrent of electrical energy, frying any scarred that got too close, then began to pull at the crystals. Aoi's team dashed forwards, Carmelia leaping over as she swung her whip around her in all directions. Slashes of red magic scattered all around, slicing and dicing the scarred. Sagiso took one side fist-first, punching it hard as it erupted with ice. Kuroyuri swung his arm out, tossing one of his daggers connected by a smooth metal chain. It hit the arch with a clang, dropping to the floor before he recalled it. "I can't penetrate it!" he shouted, followed by Carmelia shooting the ice Sagiso made with her gun, then watching in shock as the ice exploded but the arch remained. Then, whilst JayBird continued to pull, new foes stepped through the portal.
Undead.
"JAYBIRD!" Kotaro yelled, jumping back to defend Jaybird with his gun. Kaito jumped towards him, summoning up a wall of arcane magic to hold back the dead that shambled through. They looked like grotesque abominations sewn together of dead scarred flesh and bones, singed and burnt to a crisp from their homeland, but eyes glowing blue. Carmelia activated her unique ability to divide herself up into multiple magical clones, each firing at different enemies with arcane bullets from a circle all around the portal. Sagiso fell back to defend Aoi and Rarya alongside Rysette when some scarred warriors attempted to battle from behind.
And then at last - the crystals came free. They thrummed with a a magnificent fiery energy that threatened to burn JayBird's skin the moment they were uprooted from the sand. The others watched on in astonishment as the archway immediately disintegrated to ashes, washing away with the shallow water. "JB!" Kaito shouted, slashing sideways at an undead scarred, then blasting it with arcane magic to smash its body, "destroy them!" The sound of an explosion could be heard overhead, followed by the falling body of a sacrificial scarred that was killed before it could open another portal. It's body smashed into the sand beside JayBird, and the crystals that looked exactly like the ones he was now magically suspending in the air. But with it's host dead, the crystals' light faded away. It was then too that they could see the crystals were literally tied to the Scarred's hands with thorny sinew, as if it was made of its own flesh. At least the failed portal crystals couldn't be reused, but now JayBird needed to brute force these two crystals into smashing!
“Soldiers, go forth! Bring absolute extermination! There's only one thing to do, create a living Hell!”

JayBird Song Rayra could feel the spotlight on her and continued to sing her fast-paced lyrics. "No one can stop what we're doin'! The beat is pumping right through it! Display your magic for me! Just wait and you'll see! Don't ignore the voices calling now!" Again Rayra joined in harmony with Aoi as Rysette stummed the beat in and out assisting the others where she could. Meanwhile, JayBird kept a hold of the cystals while Carmelia sliced and diced creatures left and right. Sagiso punched at the archway accompanied by shards of ice, but to no avail. Kuroyuri assisted tossing a dagger connected by a chain at the archway only for it to rebound. The arch must have been made indestructible and the only way to bring it down was the crystals because even Carmelia bullets didn't make a dent. JayBird remained distracted by his tug-a-war with the crystals when undead began to seep through the opening of the portal.
Kotaro and Kaito stepped in to defend JayBird from the monstrosity, Kotaro summoning his gun and Kaito a shield of arcane. He glanced back slightly to see the mishappened being sewn together by different chunks of Scarred flesh and bone. Most of its structure was burned to a crisp to do the elements from their homeland, but the glowing blue eyes was new. Carmelia decided to use her secret ability to divide herself into magical clones and surround the enemy. Sagiso fell back noticing that Rysette was about to be ambushed from behind which even she took priority of by slamming down on her strings really shaking things up.
As if a taught tether snapped, the crystals were free and thrummed with furious energy that threated to burn his skin. The heat emitting from them formed beads of sweat on his forehead as he levitated them upward away from the sand. The archway completely disintegrated into ash which got watched away by the salty sea. Kaito commanded him to destroy them as he was preoccupied by the undead at the moment. Suddenly, an explosion erupted over head and a dead Scarred plummeted from the sky into the sands below. It nearly crushed JayBird, but he was able to get a good look at the portal making creatures. The fading crystals were tied to its hands by thorny sinews which was actually fused into its skin. These Scarred were the most dangerous and the more they prevent from making portals the more chance they stood of wiping the beach clean. JayBird need to smash these crystals and move onto the next portal before things got to out of hand here. Closing his eyes, he honed in on Aoi, Rayra, and Rysettes concert trying to direct their energies to him. Maverly told him to practice using both of his powers at the same time, but he had trouble mastering this technique. Is it because he's holding back and he's so afraid of hurting his teammates? At this rate, he won't have teammates unless he takes control! Opening his eyes, both glowing vibrantly red and blue, JayBird stretched out his other hand and pointed it at the crystals. Not letting up on his gravitation magic, he released a surge of lightning the sparked around the crystals until they eventually shattered into tons of tiny pieces. He almost lost his footing, but was able to pivot and hold the undead down with his gravity magic for Kotaro and Kaito. In doing so, he distinctly heard a cracking noise from the rings on his thumbs but choose to ignore it focusing on the danger ahead. " I got you! The crystals are destroyed! Once this beast is taken care of its time to move to the next portal!"

It was as if a huge weight had been lifted from them all when the sound of shattered crystal filled the air, followed by a distinct, demonic groan as the fiery gems were obliterated into smithereens. "Nice!" shouted Sagiso, punching a scarred in the gut before exploding it with ice as Carmelia shot it from one of her doubles. Meanwhile, the hulking undead was still being held down by JayBird's gravity magic, which even the Twins had to admit was impressive. "Brother, shall we?" Kaito asked, holding his blade out straight to the side. "Say no more" Kotaro, waving his hand out to begin some magic calculation, an advanced type of magic used to concentrate and re-order a spell. Kaito dashed forwards, slashing one, then dashing again for a second slash, again, and again. Each strike leaving behind a glowing gash that Kotaro's magical calculations began to lock onto. "Got it" he said, firing his shot as the bullet divided and ricocheted off the air into each weak spot that his brother had created. After a flurry of blue flashes, the monster fell, blue light vanishing from its eyes. "We should continue" announced Kuroyuri, combining his daggers into a sleek, runed katana.
The team managed to take down a few more portals, excelling at their mission, perhaps more than their peers, thanks to JayBird's plan. However, that all changed with the third portal. As they approached they realised this one was protected by two undead, giant snakes made entirely of bone with bony heads made of several giant, conjoined humanoid skulls. They were each coiled around the sides of the archway, protecting the crystals embedded in the ground. From it, spawned a Scarred unlike the others. He was dark skinned, with black horns protruding from his head. He had messy shoulder length white hair and wore the unmistakable black cloth of the necromancers of Necrovalley, with a curled up whip at his side. ((See Mor'laz character profile in my thread)) He stepped forwards, looking down upon the coast around him as the undead stepped through behind him, eyes glowing blue, unlike his own which were completely white. "Vile children" he muttered. He then looked up, noticing the 13th arcane Battalion flying around above, stopping many of the portal sacrifices before they could land. He then looked back at the team, noticing the music that grated in his ears. He face revolted, then he pulled up a hand as a spine of bone erupted from the sand behind them, aimed directly at Aoi and Rarya - interrupting the song. Aoi threw herself from her platform, clinging onto Rarya as Sagiso attempted to create another platform for the two to evade on. But undead lunged for him, causing his pillar to crack and fall beneath them. Whilst they were distracted, Mor'laz hid himself among his army.

JayBird Song The demonic grown echoed in JayBird's ears as he held down the undead for the twins to finish off. Sagiso celebrated the victory by beating down a scarred using ice while Carmelia provided a barrage of bullets. With the brothers in agreement, Kotaro began performing magic calculation to concentrate and re-order spells. Kaito slashed up the undead leaving behind glowing marks that Kotaro locked onto firing a bullet that divided and ricocheted off the air. After a blue flurry of flashes, the blue light faded from the undead's eyes as it crumbled into the sand. Kuroyuri rejoined them connecting his daggers and stating that they needed to keep moving. The second portal was a breeze to annihilate, but everything changed when they got to the third portal. There were snakes made of bone wrapped around the pillars of the portal with several large, infused humanoid skulls as their heads. They were guarding the crystals beneath and this time it would be no easy feat to get to them. A Scarred unlike any of the others spawned from the entrance standing ferocious and unwavering. His skin was dark, black horns protruded from his skull, and long shoulder-length white hair brushed around his black clothes that the Necromancers of Necrovalley wear. A curled whip at his side as undead stepped through to accompany him. Their blue eyes against his white eyes caused a shiver to go up JayBird's spine knowing that this fight wasn't going to be easy.
The Scarred immediately knew who to attack as a bony spine arose from the sand behind Rayra and Aoi and attacked. Aoi fled her platform jumping onto Rayra whom stopped and caught her temporary partner. Sagiso tried to create another platform for them to jump to, but was interrupted by an undead mid-conjuring. Rysette stepped in and stummed her strings as hard as she could towards the undead to knock it off balance or distract it so Sagiso could help them get to safety. Without them, the power boost that they had was gone and also their lives were at stake. The special scarred vanished into the chaos leaving the team disoriented. JayBird used his gravity to levitate himself up high enough to see if he could find the leader, but it was to overwhelming to locate one scarred in a crowd of scarred, undead, and students. For now, his focus was the undead left at the third portal and the two snakes. Lowering back down, he looked to the twins, Carmelia and Kuroyuri. "We may have to split up for a bit. Sagiso, stay with the girls! Kotora and Kaito, I leave the snakes to you two. Me, Carmelia and Kuroyuri will take the undead. If we can just weaken them maybe their hold of the crystals will loosen. I don't know where the special Scarred went, but keep an eye out." Using his gravitation once more, he made the undead light as a feather and as they struggled in the air, he nodded to Aoi's teammates to do what they could.

“✴ No gods. No kings. Only calculations. My curse is control. My power is leashed. I follow not because I believe — but because rebellion costs more than it pays. ✴”
"Right!" Sagiso shouted with a nod as he darted away to back-up the girls as instructed. The Onsen twins grinned, glad to be pitted against the snakes to show off their combat skills. Meanwhile, JayBird instructed Carmelia and Kuroyuri to stick with him to take out the undead. As for the final mention of the notable scarred necromancer, they all agreed and went their separate ways. On his way towards the trio he reached down with his metallic-lined gloves and opened a cannister at his hip. Alchemical stars shined a magical blue on the back of his hands as a silver powder released, commanded by arcane magic. He clapped his hands together and formed a longsword, whipping it out to strike at passing undead as he came to a stop beside them. He then flung out his other hand, releasing a spread of blue dust that turned to water overhead. He snapped his fingers and in a flash of blue it all turned to shards of ice that rained down on his enemies. Aoi screamed, dashing backwards from the slash of a scarred's heavy axe just as Rysette disposed of him. "You've got this Aoi!" Sagiso reassured her, patting her on the shoulder as she recomposed herself. Biting her lip, she twirled her wand so it became longer, about the length of her lower arm, then stabbed the air above her. The blue sphere at its end crackled with arcane energy just as Sagiso and the twins were covered with a thin magical barrier. They deflected attacks that then rebounded back at the attackers like bullets before dissipating. Aoi couldn't sing right now, not safely, so would have to make do with protecting enchantments to help her allies.
The Onsen twins rushed around the portal, making a plan on the spot to try and get rid of these giant skeletal snakes that writhed around the pillars of the archway. Even now, ti was giving birth to more undead than scarred. Kotaro continued to shoot them with piercing beams of arcane magic, noting how they were much easier to down than the scarred, but were so much more in number. Kaito dashed forwards, leaping over the undead to reach one of the snakes. It lashed out, striking down on the ground as it missed Kaito, who struck with several times with his magical blade. Bones splintered, but weren't destroyed. He noted how the snaked lower-halves were coiled tightly around each side of the portal, protecting the crystals. "Echo shatter!" Kaito shouted, jumping backwards whilst Kotaro got the message and cleared the space around him using a magical blast. He then locked in and took aim, shooting several shots at the farthest snake's coiled body. Each bullet penetrated the skeleton, leaving behind no damage except for a glowing line that pierced completely. Several more were created whilst Kaito rushed forwards, sliding beneath another strike from the snake before empowering his blade. The magic made it become ethereal, like glass, and he sliced through. As his blade struck each line of magic, the energy left behind by the bullets shattered, releasing explosions of arcane magic that turned much of the first snake's body into crumbling fragments. Kaito immediately moved onto the next snake, jumping up onto it's head as it whipped around. He clung on tight, stabbing his sword into one of it's eye-sockets before getting slammed against the indestructible arch. Kaito fell, tumbling down onto the ground as he noticed he lost his weapon. With an angry glare, he began to conjure a ball of arcane magic in his hands and spat on the ground. As the snake struck down upon him, he dashed out of the way and threw the condensed orb into the snake's skull where it rattled around, growing slightly in size. He then moved back beside his brother, who took aim once more. "Condensed mana?" Kotaro asked, grinning as he took sight of his target. "Make it suffer - it stole my sword" Kaito glared. Kotaro gasped, then locked in a took the shot. The bullet hit true, straight through the eye socket and into the orb, shattering it. The resulting explosion glashed bright blue. The Onsen Twins then clapped each of their hands together, mirroring eachother, then snapped their outside hands in unison as the explosion reversed, imploding. The snake's head instantly crushed, followed by most of it's body resulting in the bones being blown into smithereens. The lower-half was still somewhat intact, but both the twins would deal with this in the coming moments, ready for JayBird.
JayBird forced the undead around them to float in mid-air. Kuroyrui dashed forwards first, slicing and dicing from below with his katana. Carmelia lashed out with her whip, sending arcs of red magic through enemy one after another. Kuroyuri then began to dash from one area to the next, leaving behind carved lines in the ground beneath him as he went. Carmelia meanwhile commanded JayBird to look out! In that moment, one of her doubles dashed in front of him as Mor'laz appeared, stabbing the double with a bony knife. He let out a disappointed sigh as the double vanished. "Pathetic child" he said, attempting to strike JayBird again with his dagger. When he missed, he dashed backwards, commanding two undead to step forth. These two looked almost alive, except their skin was pale and only slightly shrunken. Their eyes, aglow with a wispy blue essence, seemed to recognise JayBird as an enemy. "Do not let him cast magic!" Mor'laz announced. The two undead then raised up their guns, and suddenly it all became apparent. These two were fallen Arcazian soldiers, for how long they had been dead no one could be sure. But the more concerning part was that they could speak... and think... and make decisions. "This should be a piece of cake" one said to the other, who replied "students know nothing about rea battle!" The two then began to open fire on him with bullets of arcane magic.
Up high, above the clouds, the 13th Arcane Battalion continued their assault. They were successful with taking out many of the sacrificial scarred, but as Adelia looked below she could see the numbers of undead rising. "This makes no sense, where are they getting all those corpses from?" She then looked out into the distance, noticing that reinforcements were no longer coming. Valeye then pointed down and said "Captain, our forces are heavily outnumbered, I'm not sure even our team can take out enough before they reach the bastion." Adelia scowled, then said "request permission for Pixie to use full force." Valeye took the command immediately, then touched her temple with her fingers as she repeated the request verbally. "Request for Pixie to use full force. I repeat, we request permission for Pixie to use unrelenting force." Adelia knew the magical message would take some time to travel - but not too long she hoped. She felt the anticipation of her commander's response... she could feel the bound magic within her swirling, dancing, burning against her insides as if her body were a prison. All she needed was permission, then the curse set upon her from The Entity would temporarily be released! She could caused all the chaos she wanted to, all the devestation she needed.
((I'll let you be pretty free for what your characters do in this time, especially between JayBird and the two new undead units! Then I think i'll wrap up this battle in the next post!))
“Soldiers, go forth! Bring absolute extermination! There's only one thing to do, create a living Hell!”

JayBird Song Kuroyuri reached down his lined metallic gloves to a cannister secured to his hip. The alchemical stars glowed a magical blue on the back of his hands and a silver powder released commanded by arcane magic. He clasped his hands together a longsword formed when he whipped them apart which he used to tear down the undead as he passed. He flung blue dust out of his hand that transformed into water flowing above the floating, struggling undead. With the snap of his fingers the water turned to ice and shards of it rained down on their enemies. Meanwhile, Aoi barely dodged an axe-wielding undead just as Rysette stepped in basically blasting it to pieces with the sound of her stumming alone. Sagiso reassured her to keep fighting which she did by extending her wand and stabbing it into the air above. Arcane magic crackled and erupted from the end until a sphere of magic covered Sagiso and the twins giving them the protection they needed. The barrier deflected the attacks and sent them back like bullets as Rysette repositioned herself next to Sagiso holding her guitar up like a back. Rayra shadowed the two humming a tune to give them a little bit of a boost as she also protected Aoi valuing her magically enhancements. Rysette hint a cord at the top of the strings each time an undead or scarred drew near and swung with all her might. When the enemy was hit it would shake as if brittle bones were shaking from the inside before it was propelled back. The bodies would completely fall apart or unravel midair until they crashed into the sand lifeless. She would occasionally switch spots with Sagiso taking the lesser half of monsters knowing it was stronger and could take down more.
As the twins handled the snakes, more undead than scarred where emerging from the portals which Kotaro dispatched with beams of pure arcane magic. Kaito came in and leaped over an undead to get to the snake which dodged a strike easily from it before slashing at it several times splintering the bone but not destroying it. They decided to introduce one of their combos, Echo Shatter, and to start Kaito had to pull back so Kotaro could clear the field with a magical blast. Taking aim, he shoot several bullets that didn't damage the snake, but marked it with glowing lines throughout its recoiled body. Once the lines were locked on, Kaito slid under the snake dodging another strike and activated his blade ethereal, glass-like blade. He sliced through each one of the lines that exploded with arcane magic crumbling the snake into a pile of bone fragments. Kaito acrobatically jumped to the next snake and embedded his sword into its eye-socket to stay clung to its thriving head. He was flung off hitting the indestructible arch before tumbling down into the sand. He recovered quickly and conjured a ball of condensed mana in his hands as the snake opened its jaw ready to bite him. Kaito leaped out of the way and released the ball into its mouth rattling its skull around as it grew in size. His sword was stuck within the beast, but his brother remedied that by shooting the snake right through the eye socket shattering the orb of mana. Bright blue leaked out from the cracks as the twins mirrored one another snapping their fingers at the same time. The explosion reversed imploding the snake from the inside out annihilating its top half. Now the arch was unprotected, JayBird could swoop in and take care of the crystals!
Kuroyuri continued slice up the undead while Carmelia followed with her whip sending arcs of red magic at them. Kuroyuri carved lines beneath him which JayBird was about to use to direct his lightning when Carmelia told him to duck. From behind, JayBird gasped when Carmelia double had been stabbed through from one the Scarred Necromancer's bone blade. She vanished leaving the demon disappointed as he attempted to strike JayBird again. Releasing his gravity hold on the undead he jumped away using the gravity to carry himself some distance away. The Necromancer commanded two undead to arise, these ones were different from the others not only in looks but function as they were more intelligent than their comrades. Their skin was pale and slightly shrunken and their eyes held a blue wispy essence as they exchanged comments to one another. The Necromancer commanded them to stop him from using magic as they aimed their guns firing bullets of arcane magic. JayBird condensed a ball of lightening in his hand and smashed it down into the sand creating a jagged wall of glass to protect him momentary. He moved out from his make-shift barrier quickly as it was easily brought down by the bullets and ran its electric ball along the sand beside him. More glass erupted as he made his way around the two waiting for the perfect opportunity to ambush them.
They fired along his wall shattering the glass everywhere which he used to his advantage. Switching to gravity, he levitated the shards of glass before throwing them like little projectiles all around cutting up the undead's thin skin. Even though the creatures had sentience, it wasn't enough for them to react fast enough to JayBird's nimble moves. As the two began to argue over the boy's location as he darted from glass barrier to barrier, JayBird jumped out and threw the two down with gravity disarming them. He then brought them up and closing his hand he crunched them both into contorted flesh mounds before flying them with bolts of lightning until they were piles of ash. This last attack caused an enormous strain on his rings causing them to break entirely. With them removed, his magic consumed him and he began to get out of control, but maintaining a little bit of sense by aiming for Mor'laz. He jumped up and came down upon the Necromancer creating a sword of pure lightning to combat with the Necromancer's own bone sword. At the same time, his gravity was pushing back on Mor'laz while keeping himself levitated for extra strength. Bolts of lightning flew outward from the collision attack anything in its path whether that be monster or friend. Gravity around the area was fluctuating from light to heavy infected anyone or thing within the radius around him. His eyes glowed a blinding blue and red as his powers went haywire and the entire time he was in an uncontrollable hypnotic state. The only thing he was focused on was defeating the Necromancer in front of him and everything else was white noise, even abandoning the mission. However, this surge of magically energy would only last so long until his body gives out on him which would be shortly. He wasn't able to handle a magical overload of this magnitude and within minutes his power was beginning to wane.
As a last ditch effort, he pushed as hard as he could and expanded the sword of lightning until it exploded sending him backwards and hopefully the enemy as well. He crashed into the sand unconscious not knowing if he succeeded or doomed the whole academy. Since the twins were somewhat away from JayBird's breakdown they did realize what was happening until objects around them like debris began bouncing up and down and sparks of lightning traveled randomly in all directions. Rayra stopped humming and Rysette looked around frantically before looking back to her sister and Aoi. They all automatically new where this phenomenon was coming from until it abruptly stopped. "Birdy..." was all Rysette breathed.

“✴ No gods. No kings. Only calculations. My curse is control. My power is leashed. I follow not because I believe — but because rebellion costs more than it pays. ✴”
Kuroyuri and Carmelia sliced and diced together, criss-crossing and skidding to a stop when they noticed JayBird creating walls of glass to protect himself. They erupted from the sand, splashing up like works of kaleidoscopic art. As the new enemies' bullets shattered the glass, he continued to run around them whilst using his magic to create more glass barriers that were thick enough to take a few hits before breaking. He then showed excellent skill in commanding his gravity magic when repurposing the shattered glass into weapons that shot through the air. The two then continued on with their pursuit. Mor'lax crept up slowly, watching his opponent to analyse and predict his every move. The magic was unexpected, to use it in such a way to manipulate the environment was less common among these students. Suddenly, the boy was falling down upon him with an electric sword, which he blocked by bringing up bone dagger. It was surprisingly sturdy as the two stared into each others eyes with malice. However, Mor'laz noticed the huge weight pushing against him didn't cease, and neither did the boy's descent from the ground. Mor'laz' eyes widened as he realised with surprise that this boy used gravity magic, and not just telepathic arcane energy to shoot those shards of glass earlier. No wonder he so easily demolished the two undead he just sent after him. Lightning began to caress JayBird's skin, dancing off into the sand around them and cascading across the ground. The Onsen Twins noticed the huge power, suddenly coming to their partner's side after watching the debris around them begin to levitate and crackle. "JayBird!" "JB!" the two twins called. They tried to march to him, pushing through his gravity magic like it were a storm raging against them. "He's going to expend himself!" Kaito shouted to his brother, "there's no stopping him! Finish what he started!" Kotaro replied, twisted round and jumping back as he pulled out his rifle. Kaito looked at JayBird's eyes, looking for a sign of acknowledgement within them... but JayBird was in a state entirely focused on the enemy. Kotaro was about to fire at the Necromancer when JayBird unleashed the full might of his power, causing a great explosion that crackled in the air and pounded the earth. The Onsen twins were flung backwards, Kotaro launching towards Carmelia, who was taken off-guard and lost focus on her doubles, causing them all to vanish. Kaito fell beside JayBird, still barely awake. Mor'laz came to a crashing stop in the shallow waters, his face and body burnt more than it already was, further deforming his visage. "Damned kids" he spat, clutching at something in his pocket, visibly angry, "forcing me to use this... borrowed power-" Mor'laz stopped mid-sentence, keeping the object he held hidden in his pocket as he felt the ground beneath him thrum, and a glow from above alert him. Eyes widening, he shouted "FALL BACK!!!" His command somehow reached the fellow scarred far away, other necromancers like him similarly noticed what he was warning them of and began to sink backwards into their portals. He raised his hand backwards, summoning a skeleton claw twice the size of him to demolish the earth behind him towards the nearest. He then clenched his fist and was sucked into the earth, reappearing where the claw of bones ended... and stepped towards the portal as everything flashed a brilliant gold. "Captain!" Valeye shouted across the open sky towards Adelia. The small blonde girl finished firing a round towards the ground that exploded on impact before looking back at the brunette, sweat dripping down her cheek. Valeye was holding her temple and nodded, "Orders to use unrelenting force approved by the Grandmage Truesvale! Ground units will be prepared!" Adelia felt his spine shiver with excitement, a tingling, hot sensation overwhelmed her fingertips, reaching up her arms and into her chest like lightning struck her in an explosion of ecstasy the moment she heard the confirmation. Eyes widening, he grinned like a cheshire cat and let out a mighty guffaw. "13th! Prepare for total annihilation. You have T-minus 30 seconds to support ground units and prepare for the end of this battle!" The shackled on her power were released, she could sense it, as she had each and every time she was permitted to use her extreme power against the enemy in the name of the greater good. Rules, permissions, law, good vs evil. It was all necessary for her to do what she truly wanted, to do what The Entity denied her! All she had to do was aim it at the right target, and her power was limitless! She looked around, finding the best position to inflict her carnage on the scarred. Their support in the skies were eradicated, so it was the hordes of scarred and undead below that had to be delt with... and the portals were the source of all their power. She had to decimate the land... and murder her enemies along with it! Aoi heard a ringing in her right ear, as if a bell had chimed miles away and the echo was flying towards her. It buzzed, becoming high-pitched as if something was tuning in. She recognised it as a telepathic message sent long-distance. She dashed back, in the middle of Sagiso, Rarya and Rysette as cast another round of deflecting barriers on them. She then placed her fingers against her temple to receive the message, and the voice was familiar! It was Headmistress Truesvale! "Aoi - I have authorised unrelenting force by the 13th Arcane Battalion, now is the time to use the gift I gave you and do what we practised. " Aoi's body shivered, a cold tingle rushing down her spine and causing her legs to become heavy as she almost stumbled. Her eyes drifted up towards the sky where she could see Adelia, a small blue sprite in the sky charging up some kind of magical spell. She looked around for her team, noticing Sagiso first, who noticed her expression of pure shock. She then peered back as an explosion sent JayBird soaring backwards into the dirt alongside Kaito, she then saw Kotaro get thrown against Carmelia. Kuroyuri then used his magic to activate a load of runes he etched into the ground around them with his blade during dash attacks. They erupted with magical energy to attack nearby foes as he dashed to his team's side. There was no time, she couldn't be afraid now, if she didn't then Adelia would certainly do something that may hurt everyone else here. "Rarya, Rysette!" she shouted, pushing herself off the ground, "I need your support. Enchant me and only me! Sagiso, I need the highground!" Sagiso asked no questions and flung out his bag of metal dust and activated it with arcane magic, forming a plate of metal for Aoi to stand on. Once on, she plunged his hands into the wet sand and magic sparked towards her, commanding the earth beneath her to push upwards, creating a pillar then grew and grew, fusing with the metal as it went. As she ascended, she let her wand shrink down to mic size, then let the magical metal unfurled into the tall mic-stand she was recognised for. She took a deep breath and kissed the glowing blue orb at it's tip, activating it. It glowed bright, and the magic within began to swirl like water as the energy of the Starwell began to react to her voice. She looked out across the battlefield, noticing all of her comrades, all of her friends, her peers... everyone that she needed to protect. She pictured her sister, whom she missed always, who protected everyone in Skyfall as the current Overseer. Love she thought, her love to protect would let her achieve this wish! Finally, she opened her mouth and began her song once again, this time her aura, like blue dust, fluctuated around her then burst outwards into the air as it stretched out like a velvet blanket to reach everyone in the battlefield. Those that were harmed, those that were exhausted, anyone that could hear her voice from over a mile away felt their aches lesson and their bodies warm as her magic enveloped them. MUSICAdelia rises high into the sky, far above the battlefield—so high her silhouette is but a speck in the clouds. Wind howls around her, parting unnaturally as arcane glyphs swirl in layered orbitals around her body like a celestial war clock, ticking toward obliteration. Her expression remains blank, save for the faint glow in her pupils—signs that The Entity is watching. Below her, enemy soldiers glance skyward, dread swelling as their instincts scream. She raises one hand—clockwork runes spin into alignment, hovering like targeting reticules over every major structure and encampment, even over fleeing squads. These markers are imbued with surgical precision. There will be no mistakes. "O', power of mine" she began, eyes furiously burning blue and purple, "bring order to the chaos of the arcane. Unleash thy will to protect the innocent!" Suddenly, the magic screen vanished and her body erupted with purple magic, which condensed into blue magic that was sucked into her single loaded bullet. She chuckled, grinning, "the power of sorcery, ordered into a weapon by the arcane. I'll be your end, Entity." And with that, she pulled the trigger and the bullet shot downwards in a collosal flash of blinding golden light. It then explodes beneath the clouds into dozens of cascading, arcane spears of cyan light that shot towards every single portal on the battlefield. The blasts don’t just explode—they invert, collapsing inwards before releasing devastation outward, flattening fortifications in calculated arcs. It looks less like war and more like divine architecture unravelling reality. From the sky falls not fire, but glittering motes of violet light, slow at first, beautiful like snow, flickering with cyan light in it's core. Each one is charged with compressed arcane potential. As they make contact with the ground—or with flesh—they detonate in precise, micro-targeted bursts. Bodies twist violently as limbs vanish in flashes of lavender-white. Trench lines are ripped open like paper seams. Vehicles combust without flame—just a sudden collapse of internal space. The falling motes seem random, but in truth, Adelia has calculated every arc of descent. They strike only where needed. She intends for survivors to witness this. Moments prior, as the golden light flashed, all of Aoi's team, all of the students on the battlefield, witnessed the complete annihilation of the enemy portals. They attempted to protect themselves from the blasts, running, dashing, hiding behind their weapons as Aoi's blue light began to glow more aggressively around them. Then - as the motes of magic began to float down from the debris, each and every single one of them was recalled by magical transportation back to the White Bastion's overlook by the cliffs, just in time for the motes to explode and cause utter carnage. Aoi dropped to her knees, exhausted, not realising she was successful and protecting everyone as she muttered "I must - protect... save..." She then collapsed, falling unconscious alongside JayBird.

JayBird Song Rayra and Rysette noticed a different aura around Aoi as she created another barrier for them and placed her two fingers on her temple. She was receiving a message that only she could hear and the shock on her face after said it all. As JayBird and the twins were taken out along with Carmelia with only Kuroyuri continuing to defend them, it was now or never. She asked the girl for their assistance to only fuel her with their magical duet which they agreed silently and took their places behind her. Sagiso dug into his bag and flung out some metal dust that alchemical transformed into a small metal platform. Rayra took her place on one side of the platform adjusting her own mic while Rysette strummed for the right tune on her side. Aoi plunged her hands into the wet sand gathering her magic to command the platform to rise up high from the battlefield. A tall mic stand rose up out of the metal and Aoi shank her own microphone down to fit nearly into the stand. Kissing the mic, it flourished with a bright glow reacting to the swirling magical energy from the Starwell around her responding to her angelic voice. As she sang, blue dust fluttered around her before bursting outward across the battlefield like a velvety blanket of rejuvenation to any and all students. The girls felt impowered as Rayra kept tempo with background vocals and Rysette matched the notes to her strings perfectly as if they had all preformed this set before.
From all the students prospective on the ground, all they could see was a flash of golden light marking the devastation of everything including them. Small dots of cyan light broke out around the beach annihilating portals by sucking them into a rippling void before exploding outward leaving nothing behind. Undead and Scarred were torn asunder even the shoreline suffered damage. Vehicles and anything not tied down were obliterated in minutes and if the students didn't get to safety the same would happen to them. Screams and students cowering or running in fear from the enviable were heard and seen before they were all recalled back to the White Bastion in a flash of light. Aoi had expended herself like JayBird and collapsed next to him as the twin's caught their breath realizing they were still alive. However, the shoreline ahead them had seen better days and now looked like a wasteland thanks to the 13th Battalion.
JayBird began to stir feeling something warm next to him and when he opened his eyes letting his vision adjusted he sat up. He looked over to see Aoi sleeping right next to him causing him to immediately blush. She looked like a sleeping angel and he was almost scared to touch her and arouse her from her slumber. He leaned over instantly noticing his thumb ring was gone and checking for the other just brought him another wave of discomfort. Slowly, he placed his hands under Aoi and scooped her up cradling her as he came to a stand holding her close. All their teammates were close by and looked around expect for Kaito as he clung to her brother exhausted. JayBird was about to ignore the devastation behind him when an itching feeling told him to turn around. A breath barely left his lips as he faced turned pale wondering what had happened to the shoreline. All the students looked safe and accounted for, but...right Adelia and her team. Could they really have done all this? He stood there for a moment completely taken back until her gathered himself and turned to his companions. "What happened?" He asked oblivious even though he had already figured out the answer.
The twins came to either side of him as Rayra cheerfully chimed in. "Nothing we need to worry about." Rysette noted. "The 13th Battalion took care of everything. We're safe." She smiled lightly before gasping. "My hair! Rayra, my hair!" Rayra ran over to her sister fussing over her seeing that her hair got fizzed up during their scrimmage early. JayBird shook his head, secretly glad it wasn't something serious as the two girls walked away from the ground to rectify their problem. JayBird glanced at Aoi's team and sadly admitted that the plan failed. "I'm sorry...I didn't hurt any of you...did I?" JayBird may have been unaware of the events in the last few moments of his attack, but knew with his rings gone that he had possibly lost control. He looked to the twins with big puppy dog eyes intentionally looking for sympathy. Sometimes when he thought he did something wrong he usually got this melancholy look on his face that drew the twins into his plight. It also won a lot of women over and he would end up finding himself surround by their empathetic jabbing.

One day, I’ll command to live. ⚙” “⚔ I was not made to kneel, yet here I stand — my fingers curled around a weapon I can’t fire freely. Law and order... are constructed by madmen. Completely false. Utterly absurd from beginning to end!⚔”
“✴ No gods. No kings. Only calculations. My curse is control. My power is leashed. I follow not because I believe — but because rebellion costs more than it pays. ✴”
Aoi remained asleep, seemingly peaceful and angelic in her slumber whilst JayBird carried her, gazing upon the destroyed shoreline in shock and awe. The musically talented twins reassured JayBird before suddenly becoming distracted by their frazzled hair and departed. He then quickly turned to Aoi's team, instantly concerned that he hurt someone because of his un-restricted powers. Kuroyuri and Sagiso patted themselves down, shaking their heads giving him a reassuring smile. Carmelia then stepped up and said "you didn't - but this oaf nearly ruined my French outfit" whilst gesturing at Kotaro. "How dare you" Kotaro rebuked, gasping. Carmelia grinned, "I think you need to have a firmer stance." However, by this point, JayBird was already giving the familiar, doughy eyed gaze at his teammates. Kotaro and Kaito both let out a sigh in unison, "none of that!" Kotaro exclaimed, crossing his arms, "you can't be all sad when you were the one to show everyone just how strong our team is by frying that necromancer!" "Honestly, JB" Kaito added, while Carmelia stepped up and patted him on the back, "you did kid." By now, Aoi began to stir, her eyes opening slowly as JayBird's face came into vision. "Jay...Bird? Did... we do it? Is everyone safe? I used up all of... my energy... so I couldn't fail..." It appeared both she and JayBird were a little in the dark on what happened, and neither truly knowing just how pivotal their roles were in the fight. Sagiso then appeared beside them, with a huge grin on his face, "JayBird exploded! Well - not like what Adelia just... did do the place, but he sent a necromancer soaring! He couldn't defend himself!" "Neither could Kotaro apparently" Carmelia added once again. Sagiso chuckled, then added "and you teleported everyone to safety! You were both great!"

JayBird Song Carmeila was the first to step up to acknowledge JayBird's feelings assuring him he did nothing wrong. She even teased Kotaro about her outfit which he rebuked naturally. The twin immediately stopped his self-loathing advances by telling him how he nearly took out the necromancer he was fighting which made him surprised. Kaito was firm and Carmelia gave him a gradatory pat on the back expressing his success. Suddenly, Aoi stirred and groggy asked him if everyone was safe because both of them fought hard, but passed out before they saw their own efforts. JayBird smiled lightly and nodded before Sagiso jumped in explaining the situation in bombastic terms causing JayBird to blush embarrassingly. All of them poked fun at one another knowing that their mission passed with flying colors and they're all safe. JayBird gently let Aoi down still holding onto her in case she fell and looked to the others proudly. "We all made a great team. I'm just glad its over and the 13th Battalion stepped in when it was critical." He gave a sweet smile to Aoi secretly glad that he was holding her instead of burying her which he didn't think his heart could handle.
