It's a new year in the Kawani lands! Winter is in full swing and much of the land is covered in snow. Does your soquili do anything to acknowledge or celebrate the new year? Are they part of a herd or family that has a tradition or ceremony? Have they made a promise to start the new year with a clean slate and change themselves for the better?

Or did they simply try to stay warm and wait for the snow to melt and spring to arrive?

Write an RP responding to the above prompt. Your soquili should acknowledge the fact that it is a New Year - how they react to that is up to you.

Arun was very excited for the New year. He didnt know what it was, not among his tribe. They had their holidays in the desert sure like all tribes, but it wasnt till he got to these Kawani lands that he learner of new holidays or he learned new names for some traditions and celebrations that were very similar to his. This 'New Year' celebration seemed similar to his tribes Life Festival but happens during the cold time but he didnt know what fireworks were? But it sounded wonderful. His tribe made the special desert flower that's fruit help give them hydration. They would dye paper from different sand sediments and other things. Something they could get richer colors from berries that are traded, the use the bad ones as a dye. It was just fond foalhood memories.

He was even more excited as he was seeing so much and learning. He also loved to preform for different soq as they traveled. His tribe picked him as an ambassador to go with their traders and learn about the 'grasslands' and their ways and traditions. It was when they met up with the other half of the group at the broder that he learned of New Year and fireworks. He knew fire and how to work but they said it was nothing like that and you watch them.....strange but exciting!

There were a couple in the traders group that teased him about something else but just made sly comments about hoping he would like the cold. It got cold in the desert, he was fine with cold same as any in the tribe. What could he mean? He asked but no one would say anything, some would just laugh, the leader even chuckled once and just told, 'Dont worry, youll see.' Arun was getting frustrated and soon stopped asking. Finally after a week of traveling they were almost at their big destination. Their group set up camp for the night. Arun commented on the ever growing chill on the air. Again, all of them snickered as the leader looked to the sky, clouds starting to pepper the sky, 'Yep, its sure going to be a cold one. Sleep tight.' And with that he left to ready his own area for the night.

Arun looked to the sky after setting up his area for the night. It was cloudy, very cloudy. They seemed to be full, he couldnt help but groan thinking rain was coming. He didnt like rain, he didnt like to be 'wet' so he was not looking forward to rain, but nature does as it will. He headed to bed, thinking about the fireworks he would see in a few days. He did not know what he was in for when he awoke. Sleepy from the morning Arun shivered and just thought that he seemed to be much colder than they expected. But as he turned to leave his tent he saw white....?

How was everything white, he looked at the branches that held build his shelter and tent, looked out of the cloth entrance and he winced. It was so super bright, and cold!! He looked to his claws and looked out and moved to gather with the group. He looked at everyone and they laughed saying he should see his own face. He asked what it was called, they said SNOW!! It was cold, but kinda wet, but dry at the same time? It was like magic, but it was something nature hadnt shown him yet....still kinda magic though! He didnt mind it, except his feet, especially his front claws got very cold, luckily the traders had special coverings to help.

They packed up and the next day was spent getting to their New Year destination. It was finally time to party and 'Ring in the New Year', the locals said. He knew what a big deal his Life Festival was to his tribe so he was excited to celebrate this one with the locals. He had to wait till the dark time, or night he was told they call it. 'When the stars dotted the sky that was when the show would begin.', they told him. He was so excited. Then finally the time came. There was dancing, singing, music...everything! Everyone was having a great time, Arun even danced even though he missed his scorpions. He had to leave his little friends with his family while he traveled. Everyone still his his dance was beautiful and great. He was proud of the praise, it means his mom and teacher had taught him well.

He suddenly heard the locals leader call everyone together. It WAS TIME! Arun was almost dancing on his 'toes' and there was a loud *boom* and bright sparks lit the sky. Followed by three more and everyone cheered while these fireworks lit up the night sky. He got it now, he smirked to himself and enjoyed the show. It was slowing and the leader said it was almost midnight and the new year and day would soon begin. They started the countdown, timed with fireworks shooting 10...9.8....7...6...5...4...3...2..1! The fireworks end started, finale they said, 'Happy New Year'!! They all partied and arun learned to make a snow person and a bunny! He thought he could manage it out of sand for his family and friends. He was so excited, they all danced and played till the sun rose bringing light to the New Year.
