Hello Project Catwalk Fashionistas! This topic is for general chit chat purposes. There has been interest in such a thread in the past, and the time has come for it to be posted! Feel free to just drop in and say hello, this would be a great thread to post in to make sure you don't get purged from the guild for inactivity or anything. Happy to see this chat thread that I was asking about lol (I already have a random chat comment.) Anyway, thanks for giving out the bundle items for auditions, I ended up getting something I actually really wanted. One of the schemes I collect on this account, and none of the items were duplicates of things I had either so even better.

After the most recent guild post, I do have one thought. I found that it's really unnerving to have a model with no visible nose, so I always add a nose. However I always use the same nose item for the same model every challenge. For example, last time (on the bord account) I used the same nose mod for Esther every time I dressed her up, regardless of the outfit and challenge theme; this time, I found a nose that works with Arden's face/makeup item and used the same one for her audition AND the first challenge.

Its also not a very strong nose which is why I picked it it just indicates she had facial structure. in fact taking a look I think everyone but sleepy added a nose to their model. I think the Mod/makeup thing might have been aimed at people who changed more aspects like the lips or used make up that changes the structure of the eyes. I know last season in the first challenge I used eye makeup that made Raven's(my models) eyes look partially closed and the judges weren't fans, and in the same challenge FaithEmblem originally had altered their models lips but changed it back before the challenge closed because the mentors advised it was better to not risk the mod.

I asked about noses in the main forum page back when I was working on my auditions As for the recent announcement re: mods: Personally in my entry for challenge 1, I think my eyeshadow/lashes combo may have slightly changed Maeve's eye shape Also I definitely added brows, but in retrospect I probably shouldn't have (I did post in the mentor chat to seek clarification on it, but no response yet) ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ gaia_moon ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆

Yeah, they didn't like it when I changed the lip color even though I didn't change the lip shape, even though in real life applying a different lipstick color would be normal. Two cycles ago I also used eyebrow (brow basics) for the model Esther, but I made sure it was always the same colored ones- I actually layered brown over blond every single time. But I made sure not to use eye mods that might change the shape of the eyes.

I wanna compete!! … ME!! Pick me! … I’m not like the other girls!
Alas, ‘tis a shame that I am but an unreliable hermit wench. Not to mention it would be entirely unethical of me to enter lol
From what little I can see on my phone, the new cycle looks fab, Bae heart

pintachu I'm completely new to this idea of "project catwalk." What advice not in any of the stickies do y'all have for me? Have fun and be yourself heart
But for serious advice: we're a fashion-focused competition, so if you're thinking of auditioning, I recommend trying to get in the mindset of designing with intention. Opinions will vary from judge to judge (which is why we have multiple people giving input to provide some checks and balances), but in my book a simpler, grounded look where all the details connect to a greater "story" will trump something that looks flashy at a glance, but has a lot of parts that feel incongruent, messy, or like they were thrown in "just because." A successful entry should marry style AND substance!
Secondary to this, your description will be a key factor in getting us on board with your look. Being able to explain your thought process and design choices is so important in helping us connect more to your entry, and can also sway our opinions to be more in your favor even if there was something we disagreed with on a visual level first. You can peep all the previous judging panels alongside their respective cycles in the the archives, so I highly recommend doing some research to see what lands and what flops!Haunted VCR Was gonna work on my audition entries but avatar builder broke atm damn emotion_skull I'll check if it works tomorrow It's a little better today but still somewhat broken lmao. Try adding the filter for "Not In Stores" if you're having trouble with some items not loading; that seems to make it a little better for now!
