How To Get A Breeding
If you're ready for your phox to have bowls, post in a colorist's breeding thread. All the breeding threads can be found in the Breeding subforum. Make sure the colorist's breeding thread is Open before you do so, and please post using their specific form found on the front page of their thread or your breeding will probably be ignored. Also: Linking to your pet's uncerts is always a good idea - many marking details are lost in certs!
Breeding Costs
Breedings cost nothing except your appreciation! (Unless bribe or through RLC)
Age Limits
All phoxes involved must be adults and on the adult lineart. Perma-kits will never be able to breed.
Types of Breedings
Rogue: A breeding where one shop canon character is put up to breed with a character not made/owned. All children will resemble a mysterious, unknown parent in some way. Mixer: All characters entered will be placed in a pool to RNG or selectively CC to another character. You won't know who your character will breed with until the end of the event. Regular: A character breeds with another character with the consent of both owners. A breeding permission post must be made for this.
Breeds
Normal x Normal: Normal kits~! Normal x Angelic: 50% chance of either Normal x Demonic: 50% chance of either Angelic x Demonic: 50% chance of either Ascended x Ascended: 45% chance of Angelic, 45% chance of Demonic, 10% chance of a normal that grows into an Ascended adult Ascended x Normal/Angelic/Demonic: 100% chance of non-ascended parent's breed.
Number of Bowls
The number of bowls a phox can have...depends. Rogue Breedings: 1 bowl with a slim chance at a 2nd Mixer Breedings: 2 bowls with a slim chance at a 3rd Regular Breedings: 2 bowls with a slim chance at a 3rd without RP, guaranteed 3rd with RP Soulbonded Couples: 3 bowls guaranteed with a slim chance at a 4th without RP, guaranteed 4th with RP Ascended x Mortal: Same as all above! Ascended x Ascended: 4 Bowls guaranteed, slim chance at 5th without RP, guaranteed 5th with RP
Twins
To determine whether or not a bowl has twins in it, the colorist will RNG a number between 1 and 30. If they roll 1, the bowl has twins. You cannot force a bowl to have twins in regular breedings, bribe breedings are a different story. Colorists do not have to roll for twins if they do not want to, and customers can opt out of twins.
Throwbacks
Throwbacks are an option for gen 2+ pets. If you say yes, there's a possibility you'll get throwbacks to a phox somewhere in the kit's heritage. This means that the colors and markings of your bowl will not only look like the parents, but they could be taken from any blood relation you link with the form. Please post all images that you can/want of your phox's ancestors. Saying yes does not guarantee a throwback and a colorist will never use throwbacks to an unlinked relative. At no time will a phox look exactly like their ancestor; this is only possible through customs, and you must get permission from both the colorist and ancestor's owner to do this. An offspring may look very similar, but it must have enough differences to make it unique. Eligible throwbacks are: Parents, siblings by the same two parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts by the same grandparents, great grandparents, etc. Gen 1 pets may ask for throwbacks! Saying yes to throwbacks for a Gen 1 allows the colorist the option of throwing in markings/colors/traits that may not appear in the lineage. This is often used to saturate or desaturate existing colors within the lineage to help colorists with designs. Although some colorists prefer to make randoms similar to existing colors or markings, please remember that this option does give them the right to design something completely random. They could throw a lime green kit into an all natural breeding if they so wished. Also, please note that in a rogue breeding (a breeding with a rogue/NPC parent) you are automatically giving the colorist the right to use randoms - they get to choose what the father of the kits will look like. You may not ask for a specific random, these are up to the colorists - not you.
Growths
7 days after the bowl is dropped off, the colorist will post again with all the bowls in one post, asking the parents to bless them. The colorist will then wait for the owner to quote the post and bless the bowl. If the owner doesn't quote back, or states they'd like to not bless the bowl yet, you do not grow the bowl into an kit until the owner quotes the post someday. From there, Kits will grow into Adults 7 days later, without any steps taken from the owner. All babies must be homed before they'll grow into their second stage. This is to prevent the hard work of a colorist going unused. You may game off the baby, give to a friend, or return the baby to the shop for us to game off. Once they're in for certing they're considered homed.
Soulbonding
Phoxes can mate for life, but if they break that soulbond they suffer the consequences and cannot breed again for 6 months.
Low Luck
Low Luck couples are those that have lost a breeding raffle 10 or more times in a row. Hopefully this will never happen. Please have links to all your consecutive losses. Low Luck restarts after a win.
One Bowl Per Owner
No matter how many bowls there are, even if you own both phoxes, you can only keep one bowl. The rest must be gifted away or given new homes in contests. The exception comes with IRL Slots/Bribes. An owner may keep two if the breeding is done through RLC. You may not sell any of the bowls, nor do pet trades for them. You may give them away to friends or newbies or hold a free contest for them. If those options don't appeal to you, you may always give the bowls back to the shop (please inform the colorist of this) and we'll run a free event for them within the thread itself. Please remember that it will still be related to your phoxes and you might have to interact with whoever wins.
Incest & NonCon
Incestual and nonconsensual plots and breedings are not allowed. Pairings that imply dubious consent are not allowed. This means a character being drugged while breeding, or someone being unaware of the situation, etc.
Owner Agreements
Both owners must agree to the breeding and when they can be entered in raffles. Some owners might have other plans for other couples each month/raffle. Communication is key!
Available Slots
You may have two pets involved in a single breeding raffle, and you may win two times in a one-month period.
Breeding RP
For a role-play to qualify towards your phox's breeding, it must show at least some sort of romantic relationship (or something to show how the bowls got here) between the phoxes. It must also be submitted and approved of in the rp approval thread.
Breeding Limits
Characters can breed as many times as they'd like as long as they follow normal breeding cool downs.
Same Sex Pairings
Same sex pairings are allowed! You may breed mxm and fxf without using surrogacy!
Polyamory
Multi-pairing/poly group breedings are available, However there are some limits. Your poly group can be as big as you want them to be, but the maximum number of parents that may create bowls is 4 at a time. So let's say you have a polycule of 10 phoxes. Phoxes A, B, C and D can be entered into breedings to create bowls. The next breeding, Phoxes B, E, F and G can be entered to create bowls if you wish. So On and So forth. Poly Groups must have a Soulbonding agreement between all members. Members may join said poly groups whenever with consent from all owners and update to the soulbond agreement. Any members that break from the poly group subject themselves and the rest of the group to the soulbond breaking consequences. Be aware that only a maximum of two players in a poly-group will be allowed the right for offspring during any particular breeding raffle win, so all members must be on board and work out who is eligible for the resulting offspring before the pets are entered. It will be assumed that the individual who enters the ticket and wins the raffle will be granted one. Eextra offspring will need to be decided by the group. Please be aware that colorists can choose to not allow poly couples in their breedings due to how overwhelming it can be!
Mockbreeding
Mockbreedings are allowed but not in regular breeding slots. They will be available through special custom slots or special events. You can customize breedings through bribes.
