The Misty Maiden was docked along the Matorian coast, the weather having turned for the worst and now the crew was spending time in an inn that was nestled along the cliffs by a trading port. While others were enjoying the company of fellow sailors and merchants who had sought shelter in the stone building, cozying up for what would probably be a long night of howling winds and rain, Emiyn had managed to find a little bit of quiet on the upper stairs away from the drinking and singing. Pressing his cheek against the cold stone walls, Emiyn simply listened for the sounds of the wind as the storm continued rampaging outside. Not that it was an easy task, especially when he had to endure the loudest cheer after someone had drunkenly sung a sea shanty in front of the whole gathering.

Somehow, listening to the gleeful cheer of the crew sounded refreshing in the inn compared to the usual cramped quarters of the ship. There were new faces to see and new stories to hear and definitely new foods to eat! When she realized someone was missing, she smiled and excused herself from the festivities. He had probably found the quietest space that he could...

"Ah, I half expected you to have gotten a room to tuck away into," she mused with affection when she found Emiyn on the stairs. She climbed to sit on the step behind him to wrap her arms around him and rested her chin on his shoulder. "Doing okay?"

"Ah, the one soul who I don't mind interrupting my solitude." Joked Emiyn as he looked up towards Yokka, a gentle expression on his face as he watched the first mate approaching him. "I considered it, but at the same time I was worried I would miss out if someone needed me." He expressed as he leaned into the embrace, the petite Matori melting at the contact. "I'll be alright. The storm is a bit more wild than I anticipated, I suppose it's a good thing we had to hunker down here since the trades are still ongoing." Even with a shield on the ship it would have been too much to balance with the way the winds were raging outside. Between that and the noisy crew even Emiyn felt his head spinning, the very thought making him more thankful that he could rest against Yokka at the moment. She grounded him when the howling winds tried to entice him to join them, the summoner's wild magic wanting to take off with the storm and him with it. It had been years since he had felt such a strong pull and Emiyn shivered as another wave of rain pelted against the windows like fingers tapping on the glass to be let inside.

"What about you though? Not in the mood to follow up after that last shanty?" He teased with a small smile towards Yokka as he tried to force himself to ignore the storm. "Though I guess Fritz will be tough to beat." Their crewmate thought he could do anything and everything, especially after a couple of pints.

"Honored," she replied with a chuckle. When Emiyn leaned back against her, Yokka couldn't help how her body echoed the relaxed energy with a subtle kiss into Emiyn's hair. "Definitely. It would be a disaster being out there in this mess. We'd be getting tossed all over the place." A shiver along her back briefly disturbed her relaxed posture at the idea, but she let out a breath and let the warmth of her partner's presence sooth her.

A smirk quirked her lips and she shook her head. "I might have one or two more shanty's in me. Just needed a breather is all." Her brow rose at the mention of their cocky crewmate and she let out a snort of a laugh. "Ah, don't you worry about him. He's looking one mug away from passing out, and then I'll be able to show all of them who the shanty queen around here is." Though not the best singer, Yokka certainly wasn't bad at it either.

Yokka sang softly and playfully, and poked one finger against Emiyn's cheek. "Can yeh spot the siren, see ya lads, off in the sea? Singin' up those sinful chords, she'll lead ya in the deep."
