Kayde 1

It was a good thing Kayde had had some experience waking up in grand bedrooms. Not that his own house was quite like this. Not by a longshot. It made him feel so tiny and a little insecure. Elka would be right at home. He felt like he had sneaked in off the street and no one had caught him, yet. It was all he could do do pay attention to what leg of his pants he was sticking his legs in as his eyes roamed around. How did an insignificant orphan from another country get to be where he was today? Living in small manors of his own. Dancing the part of an Oban God. It was surreal. He always thought he'd spend his life traveling around with the trope, doing tumbles to the cheers of small crowds.

Seeing Elias off on his own separate way to do whatever it was the young boy was off to do, the Leaf man returned to the stage alone. As he reached it, he marveled at all the work done to it already. All the hangings across the stage, with the backdrops looking so bright in the morning sun. Not a bad job done to the retouching, if he could say so. He moved closer to the one he had done, stepping out of the way as someone carrying a large box walked past him to the opposite side. It was a good thing he was a morning person. He was fully prepared to show Omari what Matori dances he had learned over his years staying there.

Omari stretched, the Matori twisting his arms wide above his head as he surveyed the festival preparations. They were nearly there with everything and the stage was set so most of the activity now was from final preparations and dancers practicing before the main performances. Some costumes were being fitted as well and props were being displayed to check for any final touchups while they had to chance to address any issues. Omari had walked over and checked most of those first before heading towards the area with the backdrops, his own colorful silks of emerald and teal matching the ocean one that he found Kayde near.

His golden accessories gleamed in the morning light, the embroidery and layered jewelry looking like golden ripples of sunlight on the water as he moved, but Omari seemed at ease in the ensemble as he waved towards Kayde. "Good morning. How does everything look?" He asked with a small smile. "Fairly decent for festival preparations, right?" It was one of their larger performances that they did since this was one of the biggest festivals in Sulburi and Omari always wanted the academy to do its best for every performance, this was being no exception.

Kayde 2

Would be difficult to miss him in a crowd, was the thought that instantly came to the Leaf's head upon seeing Omari for the day. It wasn't a malicious thought. Very, very few of Kayde's thoughts ever were. He assumed it was a common way of dressing among the nobility or rich. Everyone around him who had such a background seemed to love dressing flashy. Elka would never leave the house without a full set of jewelry on, including something in her hair. Him? He wouldn't even be dressed as nicely as he was in his vest and shirt if not by her influencing his wardrobe. The wedding ring around his finger was enough accessorizing for him, though he did sometimes spice things up with a simple necklace.

He glanced behind him at the backdrop, taking a quick look at it before turning back to the other man with a smile. "It looks great. If I were in the audience, I'd be pleased with it." And he meant it, of course. Than again, Kayde was happy with most things in life. Giving a small sigh of contentment, a small exhale of breath, he brushed back at his hair, somewhat flattening it down. "So you wanted me to show you some Matori dances?"

"Then I'm thankful for your approval." Omari placed his hand on his chest and gave a slight bow of his head towards Kayde in a respectful manner. It was customary for him to show appreciation for honest praise and he felt like Kayde would be the type of outsider to speak his mind rather than empty flattery like some. The hybrid looked back towards the backdrop a final time before nodding and having it carried away by others, the prop going towards the stage where it would be lowered in whenever the time came for the ocean goddess to dance for the upcoming festival.

"Yes. I believe that was the plan." Omari grinned towards Kayde. "If you're still comfortable with that. We could find some other space if you want or move towards the stage itself, there should be less traffic there now since most are going to take a break soon." Most had come just before dawn to work on final touches and were ready to have a meal together and relax before the afternoon activities and final preparations began. Either way Omari gestured for Kayde to take charge, the hybrid wanting to give him whatever space he desired. "If you need some music, I can play something."

Kayde 3

The man scratched at a spot on his cheek, feeling a bit embarrassed by the extra gesture. He even looked away momentarily, his cheeks giving off a faint glow, a very rare sight to see. A simple thank you was all he really desired. It didn't even need to be said out loud, Kayde thinking he was fairly good at reading the emotions of others even when they tried to hide it. He always had his eyes on his own family, watching for any signs of trouble or hidden upsets. Always the one watching out for others.

"It is my pleasure to be of service," he responded back with, placing a hand over his own heart as he looked back at Omari, giving a slight bow in return. It felt like such a strange gesture to do. Despite being a fulltime dancer, he wasn't one for theatrics, but since he was in Oba, where everything felt more dramatic, why not play the role for a little bit?

"Of course." Kayde offered a regular smile, glad for the topic to be back on something he was more used to. "I've long since lost any shyness before crowds." What with his background as an acrobat when he was barely a teenager. Looking at the stage, he flicked his head towards it. "Stage sounds good. Will allow me to get a feel for the space I'll be using, as well." He made his way towards it, glancing over his shoulder. "If you want. We don't normally have musicians at home, so I can dance without it just as well."
