Coming back to Jauhar had taken leagues longer than it should have and Ika wasn't a bit ashamed. She'd gone to Zinris on an escort mission to make sure some friends of her mentor made it home safe and then - conveniently - broken off from the group before she'd ever set foot back in Matori. Ika sent letters home, telling her mother - mothers if Ujana happened to be around - that she would 'get there when she got there' and left it at that. She would come home eventually - Ika wasn't much for travel, so it was inevitable - but for the time being...
....Well, she'd been enjoying herself and wasn't keen to give that up.
Now that she was back, though, she'd stopped off to visit with them before going back to Chibale. She'd expected to see Ujiri in the area, but instead she'd gotten to see Subira for a brief moment before Ujana ever so conveniently tasked her with cleaning up the tavern. She could have said no, probably should have, but there was something in the woman's eyes that made Ika grumble under her breath, pick up a rag and get to work.

She hadn't exactly been expecting her sister to show up when she did but was thrilled about it. It made her decide to stay a bit longer to visit before going to Chibale to work on her training. Of course when Ika had gotten conned into cleaning Subira had decided to join. Though while Ika got the rag she grabbed the broom.
The older sister finally looked over at the younger one before speaking up. "So how was it?" Subira was curious how Ika liked the traveling as well as the destination.

The bartop was just as sticky as she remembered and while it took a little bit of force Ika eventually got it to shine. It didn't matter how many times the servers whipped it down during a busy shift; messes were bound to happen. Messes that the owners kids usually ended up cleaning during the off hours so Ika knew just what combination of cleaning oils she needed to use.
"Zinris? It was weird." She raised a hand to tuck some of her dreads behind one of her ears before continuing. "Some of the older sisters didn't care for me being there, but I got some decent training with the younger generations. I don't know about going back anytime soon, but one day I think I'd like to." As curious as she'd been about Zinris there was also that vein of apprehension that had cropped up whenever Ika thought about it. Even though one of her mothers was pure Alkidike she looked mostly earthling, and to a purest that wasn't desirable.
"What about you? How was your trip?"

Weird wasn't what she thought she'd hear. Then again she wasn't sure how Ika would like a place that wasn't home. "I can understand that. I'd like to go back to visit the Vandrea at some point but likely not anytime soon." Especially not after the reaction her family had.
When asked how her trip was she chuckled. "Which one?" Subira focused on the dirt she was moving along the floor for a second. "The trip to Chibale and back was quite nice. The little journey to Tale to see Eurig was enjoyable too." That was all the traveling she had done since returning from Chiume.
With the dirt made into a pile she looked up at her sister. Stepping over to Ika she bumped into the smaller one with her hip lightly. "Wanna play a game?" It would make the chores go quicker.

A game? Thinking over it for a moment, Ika shrugged her shoulders and gave a nod. "Sure. What'd you have in mind?" Anything to make cleaning go by a little faster. Spending time with Subira wasn't bad, but they could be doing anything else.
The hybrid wrung her rag out into a separate bucket before dipping it into the clean water. In a weird way it was a little cathartic being back home. After spending so much time in Chibale, then traveling to Zinris, she’d almost forgot the smells and having her sister around reminded her of long gone years.

What did she have in mind..? Subira knew they couldn't do too much while they still had things to get done, so that limited their options. "Truth or dare?" It was both the name of the game and a question. She wondered which her little sister would pick. Not only because she was curious but because she would need to think of what she would ask or have her do.
Subira had so many questions for her sibling, even if some weren't light hearted enough for a game. And she could always dare her to do all kinds of things. The all wondered if Ika had limits or if she would act like Ujiri and do whatever to prove a point.

Truth or dare? She hadn't played that since she was little! Or maybe when she'd been a teenager? Although those memories were less of giving the other person an option and more threatening to tell everyone Ujiri was a coward if he didn't go through with a dare.
"Sure; why not?" She wrung out her wash rag into the dirty water pail, dipped it in to the clean water and started scrubbing table tops. "I'll start out with truth." Seemed easier than a dare that might wreck their hard work. She'd save those for a little later on.
