Character Creation Guide - Introduction

As Of Etherys is an RP-Based shop in terms of her structure, characters go through several processes. To begin with is Character Creation, and all Characters begin as a civilian with no art simply to allow players to taste the shop RP atmosphewre and lore, as well as to participate in Shop Metaplots.

To that end this thread contains not merely a form required for all character quests but an example of a beginning character's form, as well as information pertinent to ctreating a character in rhe shop.

Because the shop often leans into different unique talents for different tribes, jobs, and other minutia for customization, the Characyer Creatuion Guide is our attempt to be helpful, as well as go into overviews of how everything operates in-world so you can make decisions creating your characters! Plainly we want everything to be fun, easy, and informative, but there is A LOT of world information based on the cultures within Etherys, and further these cultures may affect different Tribes differently. Don't worry! We're here to help!

Character Creation Guide - The Aesthetic and Background Info

Current Tribes

Amaurotine || Earthlings

About the Sundered

In Of Etherys we strongly reccommend reading EVERYTHING in Mnimi Anyder as well as all available Region on the main continent. Though they use antiquated naming nomanclature (The names from Final Fantasy itself_ this is largely for convenience OOC and ICly. Adventurers commonly begin in Amaurot or Coerthas, although as tribes become unlocked, more locations may open up to those unique tribes.

Traditionally, Amaurotine are from Amaurot and Earthlings are from the region known as Coerthas; however Earthlings, whom call themselves human, are on their third gewneration in Etherys and some Earthlings may yet be born in Amaurot, and the youngest Amaurotine, also on a third generation, may be born in Coerthas, although the generational time is vestly different, with most Amaurotine generations avberage 10,000 years as a base to0 100 years for Earthlings -- again, every tribe is DIFFERENT.

hometown doesn't affect much powerwise, but may affect personality and values -- for example those born in Amaurot are more peaceable and those born in Coerthas may be more driven by honor.

Are hybrids allowed?

Hybridizing is in fact allowable with one caveate. They do not gain any tribe-specific abilities with the same strength as purebloods. Hybrid Soulseers may see souls as fuzzy lights and no further, barely even able to tell they're aetheric, and a hybrid may not adapt as well, even sytruggling in several situations. All hybrid concepts should be prepared for discussion and ere on the side of intense caution, as staff will be highly persnickity with what is allowable. Not everyone will get the best of both parents in a hybrid situation and not everyone will get the worst. We play it case by case -- however, no hybrid will gain BOTH tribe abilities to keep them balanced, so hybridizing is purely aesthetic and will follow the design guidelines with more lenient tribe DOMINATING design, with 1-2 required elements from the less lenient tribe that must be obvious. Some hybrids are less powerful than others, and while we cultivate interest, we'd like to work with players on uniformity, especially as more Tribes are discovered.

How does being Suindered affect my character? Whom can be Sundered?

Sundered souls, ,much like hybrids, might not be as powerful as the Unsundered on a first glance, however in their adventures, they gain the strength to become Masters, meaning Sundering doesn't deprive a soul of regaining a connection to their past.

Sundered souls, however, do have unique features otherwise not present in the Unsundered of the world. Some possess cat ears and tails, some possess rabbit's ears, scales and horns, and the like -- features from various tribes in Final Fantasy XIV, specifically playaBlew raves, although Garlean-based Sundered, like Hybrids, will require significant work with staff and will not be approved often to avoid drowning the market.

Not every Tribe is availible with a Sundered lifestate. Some future tribes masy not be capable of a Sundered characterbase outsuide of hybrids, as planned Tribes sometimes might not follow standard Etherian rules -- these wuill usually be documented in the Tribe informational page.

What ahge must a character be to adventure?

Not every tribe ages like humans do! But as tribes release this post will record the age ranges for adventuring. Adventurers themselves are considered largely capable, and the Guild only requires you capable of self defense to an adequete degree -- it's dangerous to everyone. Functionally Immortal Tribes will, unsurprisingly, lack an age cap, while longer-lived Tribes may have a larger window. As for disabilities, charavcters may be blind, or deaf (Not both; tcharacters whom might lack a sense can compensate but may only lose one sense -- losing another will require retirement deopending on plot for fairness).

Adventuring Ages by Tribe:

Earthlings: 16 - 65
Amaurotine - 160+ (Capless)
