I just wanted you to be my brother... ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▒▒Micha'el Maues▒▒▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
I was listenin' to the ocean I saw a face in the sand But when I picked it up Then it vanished away from my hands, dah
I had a dream, I was seven Climbin' my way in a tree I saw a piece of Heaven Waitin' in patience for me, dah
But no, take me home Take me home where I belong
But I kept runnin' for a soft place to fall And I kept runnin' for a soft place to fall
Lottie had invited Micha'el to another one of her sleepover parties, except usually, at most sleepovers, you won't go to the person's room who invited you. Not tonight. Lottie had insisted on coming to Micha'els room for the sleepover. He wasn't sure why, but decided trying to argue against her simply wasn't going to work. Micha'el was slouched back in his desk chair, before a great window that usually looked out upon the land surrounding Hope Academy. His leg was kicked up against the side of his bed where Lottie had made her nest. She was surrounded in blankets and some cushions she brought from her room, in bright colours of red. It was a stark contrast to his usually calm room of blue, grey and the occasional splash of yellow textile. Micha'el was in some dark trousers and a white linen shirt that could pass for casual. Lottie was in her pyjamas, black lounge trousers and a scarlet red tank top. Micha'el had just closed the curtains so that the enchanted sconces on the walls could calmly light the room. He could hear the rain beating down from outside as if a thousand little rodents with wet feet were putting together a marching band. The thought could have made him laugh if it were not for Lottie's distraction.
"Hey" she said, waving her hands in front of his face. "That rain isn't going to distract us from having the best night ever!" "Every night is the best night ever for you Lottie" Micha'el added, rolling his eyes. "And? Well... it could be better. You know." Lottie seemed to look down, saddened. Micha'el knew she must be thinking about Tsuna. Without her around, it was like a fire had been taken from their friend group. They knew that she needed to deal with some personal issues, but the way she suddenly left had hurt them. They didn't blame her, but they worried. Professor Estrella had promised them she was safe, and had managed to get involved with an impromptu mission with the Injustira Syndicate. Lottie worried a lot though, even if she often put a mask over it. Micha'el always noticed that glimmer vanish in her eyes. When she'd turn around to walk to class, or when she laughed through jokes with other students, when she would close her study book or stare out through the window. Her lips wouldn't quite curl the same way, or her eyes wouldn't quite reach the place she wasn't to look. "Well" Micha'el began, lightly kicking his foot against her bundle of cushions and blankets, knocking a few off the side of his bed. "This one kinda sucks, these pillows aren't nearly big enough for a pillow fight" "Take that back!" Lottie shouted, dismayed, pointing a finger at him. "I'll have you know these are my favourite cushions and by the spirits within my glaive I WILL use them as ammunition." But Micha'el was already discretely grabbing his own pillow when Lottie let out a gasp and at the exact moment he moved to swing his pillow at her she had already launched 3 of her own, smaller pillows towards his face. As if stunned, knocked back in his seat he let out a laugh as Lottie began to laugh with him. For a few minutes the two of them exchanged blows, taking opposite corners of the room. Lottie had created a fortress whilst Micha'el appeared to be losing the battle beside his wardrobe. It wasn't long until Lottie decided it was time for her to grab the mother of all pillows from her room to teach Micha'el a lesson. She made her way towards the door and opened it without much of a thought of whether someone would be waiting.
The two of them stared at each other for a moment. Lottie felt a rush of cold move through her body, like ice. Stood there before her, taller than herself, was a drenched Tsuna. Her red hair stuck to her cheeks and her clothes were sodden through. Lottie stiffened, falling silent as her eyes grew wide. Micha'el could only see the side of Lottie from where he stood, unsure of what had happened. "Lottie?" he asked, beginning to move. Then in a sudden act of instinct, Lottie stepped forwards and hugged Tsuna tightly, so tightly it could have took the breath away from her. She held tight so that Tsuna couldn't even try to pull away. Burying her face into Tsuna's chest Lottie let out a small wimper. "Tsuna" she said, as if a great weight had been taken off her shoulders. That was when Micha'el turned the corner and stopped, too stunned to speak. He locked eyes with Tsuna over Lottie's shoulder. Now Tsuna would notice how, since she'd been gone, Micha'el had a haircut that was more mature. In fact it made his face shine. "Tsuna" he repeated under his breath. Lottie was still holding tightly and said "now it's the best sleepover ever."

Tsuna MikiFor the first time in a long time, Tsuna was at a loss for words. Usually, she'd attempt some snide commentary or at least smirk frivolously to easy the tension, but she was dumbstruck by Lottie's embrace. Talk about prefect timing. Tsuna warmly wrapped her drenched arms around Lottie as if she'll never feel this longing of friendship again. As for Micha'el when he stepped into her line of sight she practically gasped. Maturity had suited him well, and the short haircut really accentuated his masculine features. Lottie mumbled something about the sleepover into her chest making Tsuna giggle from the buzzing sensation. Without much thought, she picked up Lottie keeping her in the bear hugging position they were locked in and waddled over to Micha'el. She reached out and yanked him into the embrace whether he rejected or not. She didn't even think about how soaked they might get from her, but figured they could all dry off in a moment. Laying her head on Micha'el's shoulder, she began to blurt out everything she had been holding back.
"My apologies will never amount to the trauma I put you both through. I'm probably the worst teammate in history, but you're stuck with me. I don't ever want to lose you two. I can't lose you. Please, let me be someone better. I know I'll make more mistakes, but let this dog learn some new tricks." She looked up smiling blinking some prickling tears away. "Loyalty is a mutt's best trait." She mustered her best cheeky smirk and finally pulled away from the two. All the weight she had on her chest had miraculously lifted and she felt whole again. Similar to an animal when they're wet, she shook of her body and hair spraying rainwater all over the place. She black tail, ears, and flaming hair were left frizzled. Water still clung to her suit and hair regardless of the violent shaking, but she figured Lottie would go get her a towel and offer up some frilly pajamas. Knowing Lottie well, she'll most likely offer to comb her hair and fur insisting on an enviable makeover. Tsuna was in the best mood she had been in for a long time and didn't intend to refuse the offer if provided.
Tsuna glanced down to the remnants of a pillow fight strewn across the floor. Crossing her arms sarcastically, stating bluntly, "And you started without me!? Your leader!" She chuckled a bit as she picked up a pillow lightly tossing it at Lottie plowing her in the face. She stuck out her tongue playfully before looking at the two of them happily. "So what else did you do when I was gone?" Hopefully, they didn't outgrow her. For some reason there was something missing in their joyful reunion, but she couldn't pinpoint what it was. Had she changed so drastically in the last couple of weeks or was it all in her imagination?

Pulling into an embrace with Tsuna and Lottie felt natural. The three of them gripped tightly onto one another, a trio of love locked together by hope and friendship. Neither Lottie or Micha'el cared for how wet they had become, it was all worth it to finally have their teammate back. When Tsuna apologised they hugged her more tightly. "You're no dog or mutt" Micha'el said quietly, "you're our friend. And we will never leave you." After a few more moments the three of them finally separated and there was a moment of silent contemplation among them. Micha'el felt the weight of the moment pressing down on them. It didn't feel heavy. It was a comforting blanket taking over them. Tsuna shook herself out, letting the droplets of water fly across the room in an attempt to dry herself off. Micha'el and Lottie tried to protect themselves with their arms raised, as if it would matter at this point. Their clothes were also damp and sticky by this point. When Tsuna remarked about the pillows and threw one at her face, Lottie was taken off-guard and almost dazed. "Well..." Lottie began, "let's go to my room and grab some new clothes, then we can come back and catch up."
The two girls went to Lottie's room, who had spare clothes for Tsuna, and Micha'el took a moment to tidy his room some and change into some dry clothes of his own. Now he wore his own pyjamas that were loose navy trousers and a baggy navy t-shirt. When the girls returned, he let them take his bed to get cosy among Lottie's blankets and cushions whilst he retook his seat by the desk. Lottie caught Tsuna up on their recent studies and training, as well as a short duo mission in the wilderness between Hope Academy and Neutral City. But nothing too exciting happened. Conversation then turned to Tsuna, who described her chaotic arrival at Skyfall, meeting a mysterious figure called Legion, and her unlikely pairing with a lady named Leah - an Inquisitor for the white guild. "So" Micha'el raised a hand to gesticulate. "You're telling me this inquisitor actually managed to put up with your hot headedness? I'd say Legion is the lesser of two here.." He let out a grin as Lottie let out a gasp. She embraced Tsuna in a tight hug from the side. "Take that back!"

Tsuna MikiLottie suggested that they go to her room and change which Tsuna quickly agreed too. Being wet was one thing, but having untamed, damp fur was another problem entirely. Lottie gave her a red pajama top with matching shorts. The top and shorts had silly cartoon suns all over it making her feel like a child when she wore them. At least they weren't frilly like a laced nightgown which would make her feel like an old lady. She dried her tail, ears and hair as much as she could and brushed out the frizz with the sharp comb Lottie had handed her. Once the two looked decent, they wondered by into Micha'el's room acquainting themselves with Micha'el's overly cushioned bed. He had changed into a navy top with matching trousers looking quiet uncomfortable in his computer chair. On his bed his sheets smelled of light spices and a pleasant hint of musk; all natural smells. Lottie always smelled like a dessert which always made her easy to pinpoint on the battle field. If she had to describe her scent it replicated the smell of burning coals or a campfire.
Lottie began regaling her of their studies, training, and duo mission with Neutral City out into the wilderness. She found their array of extracurricular activities in her absence impressive. When it came her to explaining her adventures she couldn't help but blather on and on. She described the majesty of Skyfall, the sudden encounter with Legion, and her brief partnership with Leah. Micha'el found Leah's patience with Tsuna's abrasive behavior admirable. Lottie took it as an insult and tried to protect Tsuna from Micha'el's brazen remark by cuddling her. Tsuna laughed cocky, "I'd say she did a good job keeping me in line. I wish you guys could have met her. After Legion's disappearance, she teamed up with Adam Evangelos and they left to seach for him. However, I have to say I'd rather deal with Legion than Lea Matzo Sun. An obnoxious prophet that one was. Thought himself a God...more like an arrogant hypocrite!" Just mentioning his name made her blood boil. Exhaling cheaply, she looked down at Lottie and pinched her cheek pulling it lightly. "I'm glad to be back. It's not the same without you guys at my side." She gently pried Lottie off and laid down on Micha'el's bed letting her head hang off the edge as she stared at Micha'el upside down while her feet rest on Lottie's lap. "Your bed is too comfortable Micha'el...I might steal it from you." She said mischievously with a small yawn. She realized that throughout that whole mission she rarely slept and the confront of being with her two friends made her want to sleep for days. "Aoi should join us next time."

Lottie seemed to lean towards Tsuna more and more after each detail, taking in every name and description she could with awe. "I'm so jealous" he murmured out as Tsuna continued on. Micha'el cocked an eyebrow at the mention of Lea and how he seemed to view the world. "I hate to say it, but I've heard some of the most devout of the syndicate are... something like that." It was a cliché, but often true. The Injustira Syndicate had many great people working under its name. But there were also some that took their laws too seriously. The syndicate was basically a religion too. Micha'el knew the syndicate's history well, it was one of his favourite studies. There are some in the syndicate who believe a return to immortality and the Heavens is their true path. Tsuna then turned attention to lottie, pinching her cheek. Lottie grinned but also tried to avoid the pinch. Micha'el looked down to meet's Tsuna upside-down gaze as she laid out over the bed between the two of her friends. "You'll have to battle it out with Lottie" he said calmly, "she already made her nest." Lottie seemed unbothered, and in fact looked rather proud. When Tsuna mentioned Aoi, the three of them fell silent for a brief moment.
"Oh, well... the academy is planning the christmas ball soon and... there's a rumour the Headmaster is going to invite Merlin Academy students as well." Lottie lightly patted Tsuna's legs with a mild excitement as she announced the news. Micha'el then gestured with his hand. "Yeah, a show of unity" he said, "at least that's what some of the other students have said. Nothing has been announced yet, but the professors aren't denying anything either. The same rumour is running around at Merlin too. Aoi sent a message"

Tsuna MikiTsuna scoffed knowing she didn't have the energy in her to battle Lottie even if she wanted too. The "nest" as Micha'el so eloquently described and built big enough for two. However, Lottie may have to make room regardless because she could feel herself getting ready to drift off unintentionally. Hopefully Micha'el had another place to sleep if she did and wouldn't begrudge her in the morning for taking his bed. After the room fell silent due to her mentioning of Aoi, Micha'el brought up a Christmas Ball. She hadn't realized it was almost around that time. The seasons had changed so quickly along with team sun's adolescence. Apparently, the rumor around Hope and Merlin Academy is that the ball will be held as a gesture of unity inviting all students. Although plans haven't been made official, Aoi was kind enough to send a message in case the event occurs. Tsuna could feel Lottie's excitement as she tapped lightly on her legs causing her tail to thumb to the beat. "Another ball huh? As if the last one didn't go off without a hitch. I'll make sure to keep my anger in check this time as long as those twins know their place." She put up her fists in a fighting motion before flopping them back onto the bed. "Lumina and Ivan are going to have to find me another dress to wear....but they shouldn't bother...I don't know how to dance...." In between her sentences she kept yawning until eventually her eyes closed. She was out and for the first time in a long time she knew she was safe. No worries and no nightmares, just pure bliss.

Mention of the ball seemed to pique Tsuna's interest, just enough for her to recall the Onsen twins. Those two certainly were a handful. Especially in Otherwise during the expedition. Micha'el was glad that they learned their lesson and hoped, since then, the two of them would make better choices on who to side with. At the mention of dancing, Lottie was about to give Tsuna a motivational speech but quickly noticed the girl had fallen asleep. Lottie tilted her head, giving a small smile. Micha'el noticed her expressions relax immediately. "She must be exhausted" Micha'el stated, standing up. "I don't remember seeing her ever look so calm when sleeping" Lottie pulled up one of her blankets to cover Tsuna, and then herself. Micha'el walked over towards a light switch, "you two stay comfortable. I'll grab the matress from your room and be back in a moment". He flicked off the switch and as the room fell to twilight he left.
It wasn't long until Micha'el came back, and he managed to drag the mattress behind him on the wooden floor quietly enough not to disturb the girls. It wasn't long until he had joined them in sleep. In fact he felt himself drift to sleep quite easily, no longer wondering where on Magic Earth his missing friend was.

Tsuna MikiThe next day Tsuna awoke so peacefully instead of awaking with a start from a horrible nightmare. She could feel pressure on her chest and when she looked down Lottie was there practically laying on top of her. She smiled enjoying her partner's warmth before giving her a small poke on her cheek. Lottie stirred slightly out of reaction and rolled away from Tsuna allowing her to sit up. Light breathing from down below catch ears and when she glanced down she could see that Micha'el had taken refuge on the floor. He must have gotten the mattress from Lottie's room and was just as sleepy as her. It probably was the first time in a long time for all of them to get proper rest after the turmoil they had all been through. When Tsuna glandered out the window, she saw flecks of white falling from the sky. Snow! It was the start of Christmas vacation and hardly any students would be on campus. They'd have the place to themselves for the most part unless this ball that Micha'el mentioned takes place. Tsuna gently slip out of bed trying not to disturb Lottie as she carefully tiptoed over Micha'el. Her tail accidently brushed his cheek which tickled him enough to get a small reaction.
She got to the door and opened it cautiously trying with all her might as to not wake her teammates. Once she was out she shut the door with the smallest click and began to roam the desolate corridor. Through the wide open arches, she looked down into the snow covered courtyard below and made her way down the first flight of steps she found. She was still in her pajamas and barefoot, but the cold was hardly a threat. Being Therian, her fur sheltered her from extreme freezing temperatures even if she wasn't fully transformed. She stepped out into the snow allowing the cold to n** at her ankles which gave her a funny tingling sensation. She breathed in the bitter air enjoying the beauty of the season before flopping backwards into the snow. She looked up into the sky waving her arms and legs creating a snow angel.
