“Genius is cultivated when thoroughness becomes the default.” Efe lives by this idea, and considers it her life work to exemplify it with everything she does. Sometimes to her benefit and other times to her detriment, Efe has made a habit of being as thorough as possible in everything she does. The cleaning is not done until every tile is shined to perfection. Her homework is not done until every answer has been explained ad nauseum. (It may explain why she likes math, because at least things will boil down to an answer, even if that answer is infinity.)

xxxxx⇾Fᴏᴄᴜsᴇᴅ
The pursuit of thoroughness tempts her towards many distractions, but Efe keeps an organized log of possible rabbit holes and will methodically either go down the sidetracks or strike them off her list as irrelevant to the current goal. Efe always makes sure she has a goal going in and sticks to that goal.
She never intentionally procrastinates, although she will admit that sometimes her insistence of perfectionism is itself a form of procrastination (But what’s the point of doing something herself if she’s not going to do it well and finish it well?)


xxxxx⇾Rᴇᴀʟɪsᴛɪᴄ
Real life is messy and Efe doesn’t like messes– But Efe loves reality. There’s a beauty in how deep things go in real life, in how something as simple as “angles” is part of explaining how buildings are built and mountains were made. Fiction is lovely, but truth can be stranger than fiction and it’s also real. Just as mathematics explains the natural world, Efe believes there is a philosophy that explains the human world. Maybe we haven’t agreed on it yet, but she believes there is, and finding that underlying.

xxxxx⇾Sᴛᴜᴅɪᴏᴜs
While Wekesa has never doubted that the twins are his or demanded perfection from them the way he does from Su, their older sibling, Efe has always maintained stellar academics. She gets a sense of personal satisfaction from good grades and considers herself a hard-working student and daughter. She is constantly pursuing a worthy, productive cause of some sort. Her studious nature is not just for academics– in fact, it’s better exemplified by her attentiveness towards everyday tasks.

xxxxx⇾Hᴏɴᴇsᴛ
Efe spends all her time studying and being as diligent and thorough as possible, and she simply doesn't have the time or energy to keep track of lies. White lies are whatever if you don’t get caught, but it’s not just a white lie if it matters, it’s an act of sabotage. And since there’s no way to know what actually matters to who at what time, it’s best just to be honest and straightforward. Despite that, Efe tries to be as polite as possible when sharing the truth. Just because you’re being honest and straightforward doesn’t mean you can be rude about it! Civilities don’t exist because they’re “just nice”--they’re polite because they exist to establish grounds and boundaries for honest communication.

xxxxx⇾Gᴜʟʟɪʙʟᴇ
Despite spending a majority of her time studying everything she can, Efe is pretty susceptible to misinformation. Her honest nature manifests as thinking that everyone else is honest as well, despite the statistics saying otherwise. Sometimes, her previous research will allow her to notice and call out incorrect information (which she assumes the situation is. Clearly not lying, just dumb). Unfortunately, if she isn't well-read on the subject, she's wont to believe whomever tells her the info.... at least until she does her research. If she does catch someone in a lie, they'll usually be on the receiving end of an icy glare.

xxxxx⇾Losing Baba’s favor–while Efe just IS studious and thorough and genuinely values it for its own sake, she also worries that if she was less perfect, she would shame her father and he would bring his wrath down on both her and Lyn.
xxxxx⇾Losing favor with her twin. Efe loves Lyn wholeheartedly, more than any other person or thing in the world. If ever they were to not be so close... well, Efe didn't know what she'd do with herself.

Efemena was born the younger twin to Lyndwe, being born only 10 minutes apart, yet on different days. Their mother, Chikere Kariuki was a perpetual cheat, having little to no care for consequence. Their father, Wekesa Afolayan, was seldom home, always off on important business trips. For some reason Efe simply couldn't fathom, their parents seemed to dote over the twins, while on the same hand, shunning Souleymane, their older sister. The girls often had to look out for one another, simply because their parents were too busy... or too busy to mind them. Su often had to babysit the menaces twins when their parents hopped out. For longer leaves, all three would go to one of their grandparents' houses to have an actual grown-up in charge.
