Carina was the born after her father Zeus fell in lust with her mother, and needing to sire children, naturally seduced her. Unfortunately, her mother was already of a more sickly nature, and the stress of carrying a human baby, let alone a half godly one, would have been too much for her. Minutes after birthing Carina, she named her child, and then perished not long after, succumbing to the stress of birthing a demigod.

Zeus took her, and knowing he couldn't bring her back with him, decided to leave her with Chiron the centaur and trainer of heroes. Instructing the man to raise her as his own and train her in the ways of being a hero, Zeus left. In her early years, she would see Zeus a couple of times, but was led to believe that he was just a friend of her foster father Chiron. Thinking nothing of him being part horse, she grew up with a happy childhood for the most part. Chiron treated her well, doing his best to shower her with affection while still teaching her as much as possible.

On her eighteenth birthday, Zeus reappeared bringing with him a brilliant celestial bronze sword and shield crafter by Hephaestus himself, at least not long before he decided to switch sides. Taking the offered gifts, it was then announced that the reason she had her powers, was because her father was Zeus. Being briefed not long after on everything that was going on, it was a lot for a young demigod to take in. Not to mention that she was expected to do amazing things. Chiron was meant to teach her, and teach her he did. Naturally this was a little heartbreaking for her to learn that the centaur was only meant to train her.

Overthinking everything, the young girl flew off on her own to take everything in. She gone for hours, hoping her godly father would be gone when she returned and then she could have a talk with her foster father. Unfortunately, when she returned, she returned to tragedy. Finding out about her husband's child and the mentor who's raised Carina to oppose her, Hera had sent several monsters to the island. The monsters had managed to barely gravely wound Chiron and as Carina arrived, she used her newly acquired weaponry to dispatch of what little of them remained quickly, and spent the last few moment's of Chiron's life with him. As he asserted that he had loved Carina like his own daughter, she wept as his life ebbed away.

Zeus returned not long after, and took her away to America to live out her life as best she could. Carina struggled at first, adjusting to life amongst civilization, but one of her father's other children found her and helped her adjust.
