take the last ask the staff on aug 1st 2023 and he comes in and answers questions often by advertising his 3rd party extension
look i know you need to get that info out there but ask the staff as far as im concerned is not a place to push a 3rd party app
he often answers at least one to four questions a week and yet he is not staff. short of putting him on ignore there's no way for him to stop answering random questions
its very irritating to see someone try to fix a problem on gaia by shoving a third party app down peoples throats, for example you can sort some inventory above 20,000 items however you do need that 3rd party program. (if you dont want major lag) gaia has a limited version but anything over 20,000 and your inventory gets very laggy while it tries to sort it. a 3rd party extension does get rid of the lag but good luck with extensions if your on a tablet or phone and using gaia on a mobile browser so its dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. got a large invo? your best chance to sort it to avoid a lot of lag is on a desktop which even i don't use all the time anymore this is 2023 not 2003 and gaia does need to fix things so they can accommodate larger invo's without lag or as severe of a lag issue
look i can tell you that there are ways to make flash work on gaia but there's a difference i don't use an app or third party to fix it i give choices on browsers and any third party plugin outside of adobe is kept to myself or to a handful in another guild unless asked for it AND i dont advertise in ask the staff
so can you sort your invo without a 3rd party app? yes but will it be lag free? not always and most likely not lag free and the screenshot that knight yoshi used does not tell us if he is using the extension or not and well without knowing all that he may or may not have running well i don't think that anyone should have to put up with his answers in ask the staff.
fun fact they had banned him for a while for this kind of stuff in the past and now he is back to it again and its like dude you got in trouble before and you want to do it again? i figure even if i don't block him well he will be banned again for it and then bam problem solved a second time but this time they probably wont unban him heres what really causes problems
you can download any extension or third party program so it works better for you and its fine to do and even to say they exist and acknowledge them to help others is ok but...
FYI: offsite adverting of your own programs is against the TOS of gaia and it can be reported
now you can say i have a third party app that fixes any issue but i cant say here what it is, well thats fine it just says the problem can be fixed but not how to find the program but once you name it and say download it and your saying that gaia cant fix it well now its becoming an advertisement and it is an issue and that is how he got into trouble before
telling users that there are other browsers besides waterfox and puffin to run flash ARE NOT against the TOS
i have told others to try other browsers before but i never say browser x by me will solve it. i give a person about 10 choices and you have to decide if the fix is worth it or just something you will pass on but my fixes would never violate the rules and by the way and most people choose alt browsers for some items anyway and its a fix that gaia has offered since the dawn of the site so want to get flash to work? try another browser
however... theres going to be lag in any browser no matter what with large invo sorting as the servers that gaia uses just cant handle things and even with all the upgrades well its beyond what gaia can handle for a million item invo that a few users have
