Quote: Radioactive Mysteries (13) : Destiny City has been booming, but with more people you need more power. Recently, an old power plant has been renovated and updated and just opened for business–but now people have been claiming dizziness or fatigue when in the area. Not to mention the animals. So far one shady, blurry video has been posted online of a strange bear-shaped humanoid ‘monster’ in the area. It’s difficult to tell if it’s a hoax or not, but whether or not you believe it, it might be a good idea to keep your eye out if you’re in the area. Especially because if you pass through, you feel like something’s watching you. It doesn’t have an aura so it can’t be a youma, but if you poke around too late at night you might find a strange creature that's built like a bear, covered in fur, but which has a strangely human presence. Something about it is just off--or, maybe it’s just your imagination. Maybe it’s just someone in a costume having a bit of fun at your expense. Still, its claws are sharp and it’s fast. When it runs through the forests, the trees seem to crack upon impact, and if you explore during the daytime you might find strange scratches and odd markings in the grass. The longer you’re in the area, the dizzier you get. Note: If you choose to encounter the strange creature, your character will recognize that it is not a youma. The creature seems smart enough to understand human words but does not respond and does not seem to listen. It will always disappear before it can be caught or gravely injured. This RP can be used as a battle requirement for a character, separate from your ‘one youma battle’ per stage if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered and interacting with another player’s powered character for it to count. This can only be used as a battle requirement once per character, but there is no limitation for how many times a player can use this prompt.

Mabella was searching the woods she had heard some strange rumors and she decided to check it out herself. She thought for sure it had to just be some guy in a costume there couldn't be a real radio-active bear out here right? That was just nonsense. Who would ever believe something like that anyway? She asked herself and shook her head. She then saw some things that made her not so sure of her thought process. There were a lot of broken branches along the path she was watching. She moved along slowly since she didn't want to get herself into trouble she couldn't get out of.

Mel had seen that video in all its blurry goodness, and she was curious. Despite often being told that her curiosity would eventually get her into more trouble than she could handle, here she was in some nearby woods looking for any signs of proof that the bear-shaped humanoid existed. For science, she had told herself. To make things worse, she was equipped with nothing but her cell phone and a really, really bright flashlight.
"And my stamina," she said with a confident nod. "Varsity track and field, even made it to regionals, senior year." High school senior, of course, but still! It had to count for something, and she was still relatively fit. How hard could it be to outrun a bear?
"Honestly don't wanna find out," came her answer to her own question in a very 'I can't believe I even asked that question' sort of tone. Not to mention, the more she walked the stranger she felt, dizziness gradually creeping up on her until her pace had slowed to about half of what it was when she had started. She actually thought she was starting to see things when a small figure in white came into view just a short distance ahead. Squinting, she jogged a bit to close the distance and confirm.
Because that was totally what you ought to do when you see questionable things just ahead of you.
Once they were in reach she extended a hand to try and gently grab them by the shoulder, seriously hoping that they were corporeal in nature, and that they had some Excedrin on hand. Her head was absolutely killing her.

Mabella blinked in confusion when she was grabbed by a strange.. "Umm what are you doing?" She asked looking them over "Are you alright?" She asked. She tired to get them to let go pulled away a little bit, she felt a little tired being in this area for some reason so it wasn't easy to do. She heard the sound of something growling and she turned her head to see a really freaky looking bear that shouldn't be there. Not to mention she was being held by this stranger this was not turning out to be a good time for her.

Oh, good. Corporeal. And speaks English.
Relief washed over her and Mel relaxed, almost going slack at the sudden exhaustion she felt. Thankfully she managed to stay on her feet, but this wasn’t exactly a good sign. How was she supposed to outrun a bear in this state?
"Sorry," she said, quickly letting go when the girl pulled away. A reasonable reaction–stranger in the woods grabbing onto you–so she took no offense. “Uh. Not sure what happened. I was just walking around looking for that bear-thing they’re talking about online,” Mel paused, the headache suddenly shot up from a five to a ten and causing her to grimace. “I, uh, was out here looking for it when suddenly I started getting dizzy and my head..”
She heard the growl then, too. Following the girl’s gaze, she saw it. The bear-thing. It was dark but she was pretty sure that was it.
“Okay, guess it’s true,” she whispered, finding that the discovery was not exactly as satisfying as she thought it would be. Unfortunately she wasn’t quiet enough, though, because the growling suddenly stopped. She froze, lips pursed together.
Oops.
The bear-thing snorted, slowly turned to face them, then without warning began to run right at them.

Mabella nodded and then said "Yea I feel weird too, we shouldn't stay here too long I don't think it's good for us." She said firmly and it had clearly driven this person a little bit crazy. Mabella watched as the bear thing sorted and ran right at them. She stood her ground and then did a kind of leap from jump over the bear things and then turned around and yelled out. "Chilling n**!!" She touched the bears leg to numb it making it feel like it had fallen asleep. Then she grabbed the person's arm and pulled them along to get them away from the bear. "Come on we have to get out of here." She knew from what she had been taught this wasn't a youma so it wouldn't turn to dust and she wasn't going to kill the creature. Which only left getting the civilian out of here before they got hurt. Once they were safely away she sighed out a breath and then turned and looked at the person she had been running with. "Are you ok?" She asked them still trying to catch her breath. Sailor Scout Attack: Chilling n** A spectral ermine appears and bites her enemy causing a small amount of numbing effect that lasts about 15 secs. Range 5 feet. The effect numbs the area making it feel as if the area has fallen asleep, which may make the area hard to use. 3 uses

Okay, she had to be seeing things.
The kid jumped over the charging bear and yelled out…something…that caused the bear to stumble, which gave her enough time to sidestep and get out of its way. She felt the kid then take hold of her arm at that point, and all Mel found that all she could do at that moment was bobble her head.
Get the hell out of there. Excellent idea.
By the time they came to a stop Mel was heaving. Between her headache, the adrenaline, and the sudden sprint, she really wasn’t feeling all that great. Actually, she felt like she was about ready to puke, but she held it in as best she could.
Mel nodded her head at the question, motioning to give her a second as she caught her breath.
“Eh, could be better, thanks for asking," she said with a cheeky smirk. "Definitely happy to be alive. Pretty sure you saved my life back there. Thanks for that, too. How 'bout you? Are you okay?”

Mabella nodded and said "Yes I'm alright, let's get out of here I'm sure we could both do with a drink and a star charm from one of the shops to calm down." She suggested already moving away from the wooded area with the freaky mutated bear. She was too young to deal with this by herself specially when she was protecting a civilian. She had found the evidence she wanted anyway it wasn't a youma and it wasn't some weird guy in a costume. It was an animal that was clearly hurt and out of it's mind likely in pain.

Mel gave a nod again at the suggestion to leave. Her curiosity was well sated after that, and despite the headache and dizziness gradually fading she was still left feeling extremely nauseated by the whole situation so she really, really wanted to lie down.
“Good plan. You gave good ideas, I like you.”
The young woman gave a little smile at that and gestured in a vague direction to her left. “Think I’ll grab that drink at home. Are you good or do you want some company on the way home?”

She shook her head and then said "No I'm alright I'm glad you are too." She then turned and left she was proud of herself for helping. She went and got a star shop as she said she would. (Fin)
