"Not much fun, is it? I've helped out with stall work a time or two when visiting some family friends. Can't say it was ever something I wanted to do for long." Mnyiri was always a believer in treating the homes of friends like they were your own and that meant chores. She was glad she'd outgrown that stage in her life, but it was still recent enough that she could empathize.

"What would you rather be doing? If you could do something else?"

"Maybe you could try it between your chores? You could balance the two or do them in the morning so you're more motivated?" If he left it for the evening then he might rush through work just to get to it. Then again, maybe that was better?

"If you took up arrow making I could show you a thing or two. I'm not an expert, but I know enough to get you started." It came second nature to most Aishans, even if they didn't need arrows in their training, and after using them for so long Zakia could fashion one in her sleep.

"Sort of? It's only hard until you figure out how to do it." Of course she had years of experience as a kid as opposed to a quick lesson as a teenager, but Zakia went on to explain it anyway. She searched the area for a little stick and a piece of rock, going through the motions as a breeze filtered through her dreads.

It wasn't the most peaceful day off she'd had, but Zakia didn't think it was a bad one. She worried about him, in the way that older sister's understood, and hoped in the future he might be a little more careful.
