Crossing Paths

Solo or RP Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

Tendaji may not be bustling like the cities of ages past, but that doesn't mean someone can live their life without encountering someone else who is a bit...different. What is the story of you meeting a person who is going in the opposite direction. Maybe they are traveling and you meet in a cross roads, or maybe they are settling down to start a family while you're getting ready to leave. Or possibly it's someone with such a different personality it's like oil and water. This is your chance to tell us that story and what happens when you cross paths.

[ This prompt is all about crossing paths - briefly and of characters who wouldn't normally find themselves interacting with each other. Explore what happens when two people who are going in opposite directions (figuratively or literally) find themselves briefly encountering one another. We would like to see strangers meet on this one, so take some time to bring your characters out of their comfort zones. ]

Skadi was fuming, still after having returned home. She needed some sort of distraction, so she'd grabbed on of her tinkering experiments and headed to a small body of water nearby to zenner. yeah it was a long walk but she enjoyed it well enough.

Why was her father's family like this? they were so caught up in their tradition and status and on top of that they hated her just for existing. She knew why though, her existence defied all of his families values, despite how much her father did love her, and so did her mother but instead of dwelling on it Skadi often found distractions to keep her mind from it. It was always hard to go visit her father despite how much she missed him. Skadi definitely was going to need to find a pretty little thing on the way back into town to wave at and have a bit of fun.

She still missed how her family had been all those years ago. she still didn't fully understand why neither of her parents really fought to stay together, maybe it wouldn't have turned out quite as poorly if they did, right? She carried her small contraption carefully as she finally saw the smallish lake in the distance and made her way there setting up and having the small thing lift off. It was something smaller kinda like a toy zepplin she'd built herself.

Ahmanet on the other hand was coming from the opposite direction, leaving the secluded forest she'd found she was much closer to the capital than she'd been before, though she was still a ways off. She cast a glance back to the forest she'd be exposed for a bit but then again she didn't expect to run into anyone this far out off the road.

Yet Ahmanet had to remind herself she'd already found a weirdly secluded forest that didn't know the common tongue on her way through the forest.

Now, blocking her path was an earthling playing with some sort of.... floating toy. Yet Ahmanet was still curious she'd seen larger airships flying above but often they didn't fly directly over the tree they went around to respect the sisters. She'd never seen one so small.

She wanted to ask about it, but she remained aloof pretending she wasn't quite as intrigued as she might actually have been.

Maybe she should have paid more attention. Skadi, paused for a moment letting the small toy zepplin hover as something caught her eye that was moving across the field. Skadi had never seen one before., a tall, brown and green girl, older? maybe younger? she wasn't sure. Skadi had heard of them, a new tree existed not to far away. The island was colonized with some of the older aishains to take care of the tree at least that's what they were teaching in school so far. She couldn't say that sort of thing interested her with what was going on at home. She didn't pay as much attention to politics getting enough of it from her father's family.

She flew her small contraption back toward her still not really saying anything and landed it in front of her with a bit of difficulty. Then again the interloper might be the distraction she'd been looking for. She gave a charming smile to the Vandrea. Skadi had been pondering though about what to do after she was done with her self made toy.

"what brings you out this way?" she called not wanting to frighten the Vandrea away, not that she could do that easily by the look of her. "Come join me."

There was something in the tone causing Ahmanet making a rather disgusted face, she didn't like the earthling all of a sudden despite being curious about the contraption she was holding. But then again such a weak looking earthling couldn't do much to hurt her. With little to fear from the much smaller woman, the towering vandrea approached, she was more interested in the smaller flying machine and her gaze reflected as much.

"What is this?" she asked the earthling her free hand still on one of the blade hilts Not having seen many earthlings, Ahmanet lacked the realization this one was a hybrid. Her previous two encounters were rather lack luster with the exception of the Gaien boy. he was at least a fun sparing partner. Ahmanet remained on relative high guard despite the earhtlings weak looking apearance.

"Oh this little thing?" the hybrid said "A rather simple toy." Skadi said with a smile, not as simple as she was letting on, but she would be happy to explain it to the Vandrea. As the Vandrea got closer she started realizing just how much taller the other woman was. Seeing her from a distance was one thing but the vandrea really did tower over the smaller earthling. The Vandrea covered in bandages was even more gorgeous close up, she'd certainly love to find out what was beneath them.

There was an order to things though. Skadi held out the toy to the vandrea coming up beside the taler woman, "It works similarly to the large one but on a smaller scale." she said, but the part that was extremely complex was the control device since there wasn't someone inside to steer the machine. Skadi was imputing simple but specific sequences in it tells the machinery inside to either turn left or right. But she has to essentially click really quickly.

"My name's Skadi, might I ask your name?" she said sweetly.

The earthling called it simple but Ahmanet couldn't even fathom how it worked. The earthling tough did offer up her little contraption. Ahmanet took it and started examining it, occasionally poking it. She then returned it to the earthling and raised her brow. Ahmanet eyed the earthling who'd gotten rather close, what did she want? Ahmet's face showed the displeasure of having an earthling so close. There were a few conclusions Ahmanet could make, caring for none.

Despite the earthling trying to sound sweet, Ahmanet was hesitant to even give her name to this earthling. Skadi did explain the contraption a bit as Ahmanet had requested. "If you must know, I am Ahmanet." But with her curiosity sated she had no desire to remain with this earthling. Ahmanet was quickly growing disinterested, if this hybrid didn't have anything else interesting to offer she'd find more interesting things in the city.

"What a beautiful name." Skadi said letting the Aishan examine the contraption as she took a better look at the Vandrea herself. They had said Aishian's weren't as dangerous anymore or at least they were more civilized or something. Skadi hadn't paid as much attention as she should've during the class. Skadi's mind was still looking for a distraction, and a tall dark distraction had just walked to her.

"I can open it for you," Skadi offered, there was a few bolts and things holding it together.

"Here let me see that." sliding her hand into her shirt right around the area of her chest nestled between the fabric and her skin. she slid out a small wallet sized wrap filled with small tools. If anyone wanted to find it they'd have to be very thorough. Opening the Toolkit Skadi began carefully disassembling the casing so the Vandrea could see the inside, hoping it would keep the other woman around longer.

Ahmanet, raised her brow for a moment as the earthling took back the contraption and started taking it apart. while Ahmanet was actually interested in the inner clockwork of the toy the other matter pressing close to her was still a bother.

Ahmanet could see the earthlings intention but she hadn't the intention to let it unfold as the earthling hoped. Intending to teach the earthling a lesson Ahmanet smiled at the earthling burring her displeasure for the moment leaning over and took a look inside, there was a lot of gears and clockwork. Ahmanet could have simply brought out her swords and threatened Skadi but humiliation was a better teacher

"Impressive," she said as she let the earthling infer what she would casting a glance now and then toward the earthling, which she expected Skadi to be rather thrilled that her advance would be permitted further.
