After the attunement, I ask Mage Kemryn to teach me rune magic. She gives me a strange look and asks if I'm using the wizarding staff to increase my charisma with her, and I place the staff down, showing her I mean it, I want to learn. She then nods and brings out a big book of runes, opens it, and waves her hand over a grid of 30 symbols.
Then she points to the first, says its name, and its meaning.
Yridy. It means intention, concentration, focus; but also motive, desire, and greed.
In order to better understand Yridy, I must recite its name as I write the symbol, thinking about each of its qualities. In order to make the rune work in the way I want, I must clearly picture what I want as I say it and use it. Yridy, or Intention, is the base for rune magics and must be used first before any incantation.
This takes one of my spoons each session, and after I can incant the symbol in the air with my attuned item (in this case, the wizarding staff) I can then learn the next symbol.
She allows me to borrow a paper and pen, and I practice writing the symbol over and over until the end of class. (1 in 30 chance of achieving the incant, improving with every class, and each class is once a day)
Mage Kemryn is impressed and eyes the staff suspiciously as I succeeded in incanting my first rune. She tells me to come back tomorrow for the next rune.

In order to better understand Rils, I must recite its name as I write the symbol, thinking about each of its qualities. In order to make the rune work in the way I want, I must clearly picture what I want as I say it and use it. Rils, or Communication, is the second rune to learn. Used with Yridy, it can improve your charisma and intelligence. (But with the wrong intention, you may end up talking a lot about nonsense and get into heated arguments.)

After Mage Kemryn's class, I head over to Professor Phira's Fighting Grounds. Here I see a large courtyard with metallic constructs littering the area with swiveling heads- each with a different sort of weapon protruding.
A purple-haired lady in heavy armor approaches me, asking if I'm here for lessons. I nod, and tell her I have an affinity for heavy armor. She gives me a strange look, noting my beginning wizardry status, but agrees to teach me about heavy armor.
She sets me up in a mock heavy armor suit made of wool, reeds, cotton, with an outer shell of metal. She shows me how to fasten the buckles and straps, not missing a single one. I then practice on my own until I'm familiar with how it works. She then takes a hefty bat and tells me to brace my stomach muscles before swiftly landing a blow of the bat to my abdomen.
(15 or higher on base roll to advance to next class) (Saving throw, con +1 = 14)
I lurch, make an unsavory sound as the bat hits, but I manage my footing and hold my stomach. Professor Phira nods, spinning the bat around. She then tells me to come back tomorrow for another lesson.
