Many years ago, the Gods of old walked the realm of mortals. Extending their knowledge of magic with the promise of limitless power. Though just as soon as the humans had learned this power⦠their gods disappeared from the realm. So the humans had clung to their new found talent, soon expanding their reach across the waters and into new lands in search of their gods. There they had discovered Elves, their magic more wild than their own. Untouched by time. As the first civilization rose, the elven kingdom fell. The elves turned to their gods for salvation and protection from the brute force of the humans, but they never came. Feeling that they now had the power and resources to reach their gods⦠the Seven Magisters set out to complete a ritual. Through the sacrifice of many lives, they would open the portal to the Golden City, where they believed their gods to reside.
Once the seven had entered the portal into the fabled land⦠the golden spires turned black, the mythical world darkening. Before them stood the Maker, who was quick to expel the invaders from the realm. When they returned to their land⦠they were met with the corruption that they had created. They were met by the first appearances of Darkspawn as they overwhelmed the human settlement. Though as the First Blight began to wane, the magisters started to suspect the locations of their gods. The Archdemon of Silence had been their first clue, as the Second blight came to climax. They were certain now, their gods lay in slumber. Being awoken as the darkspawn burrow their way through the underground.
Time continues onβ¦ Only the oldest of the elves would be able to tell the tale of what had happened in Elvhenan, finding one would be near impossible in todays age. With the disappearance of the Elven Gods, they became mortal themselvesβ¦ Aging only a fraction slower than humans. The Blights continued to happen as the Darkspawn spread through Thades, corruption following in their wake. Among the mortals, the Gray Wardenβs arose to heed the call and end the spread of the Darkspawn, in hopes to stave off yet another Blightβ¦ While the Magisters of Old sit among their thrones, seeking out their gods before the Darkspawn are able to taint them.
So far in the history of Thades, there have been five blights⦠and the awakening of five gods.
Dumat, the Dragon of Silence
Zazikel, the Dragon of Chaos
Toth, The Dragon of Fire
Andoral, the Dragon of Slaves
and
Urthemiel, the Dragon of Beauty
Two more still slumber, and the Gray Wardens lay in wait for the call to battle once more. Though many plot of how to awaken the remaining gods early⦠if for their own gain or for the destruction of the heretic gods.
The sixth blight is coming sooner than anyone can planβ¦ Our story begins though in the unrest of the world. Though in the future all points may converge on oneβ¦ what side shall you choose? Are you seeking that of power and eternal life? Will you bathe in the light of the Maker, and slay all that brings darkness? Shall you fight for the people of the world, to ride the world of corruption and Darkspawn? Orβ¦ will you follow the path of the one not yet spokenβ¦
