There was something to be said for sunrises. The way the light pierced through the clouds to create a wash of colors that were never the same from one morning to the next. Watching the sunrise and fall over the land was a hobby that Winta had picked up over time. Sure, it was necessary for her to be up before the sun rose to get the forges burning so they would be hot enough to make weapons worthy of the user. However, instead of rushing to get her supplies ready, Winta used the time to watch the sun rise in the morning and had a slower morning routine as a result.

And at night, she would take a break before beginning to close up shop to enjoy the sunset. There were times where she'd get wrapped up in her work and choose not to close up shop, but even during those times she often stepped outside to catch even a glimpse of the sky at sunset. Of course, there were times where she'd missed it and. . . well her day felt a little empty when that happened. Balance between her passion and life outside it was often difficult to maintain.

Winta closed her eyes as she took a few moments to take a deep breath. After about ten breaths, she opened them again and turned to go back inside the forge to experiment on a sword she'd been working with for the last few days. While weapons had been her passion for quite some time, she was still a low intermediate in the field and had to practice and work hard to improve. For example, getting the perfect weight and balance for swords was quite the challenge still for her. It reminded her of the beginnings of the war when she'd been testing whether gold was a viable material for weapons. While beautiful, they were ultimately too heavy to be an effective tool for anyone. While long swords were still a challenge, arrows, knives, and spear tips were quite easy for her to complete and, without added designs to the metal, could be completed in a relatively short time. Hence why she'd dedicated any free time to work on her craft and the areas she struggled in.

While she had a couple hours to work on the Keris, she knew that she'd have to set it off to the side in order to meet with a customer who had sent word ahead that they'd be by today to commission something. Usually, when the customer was far away they'd send word through some beast and she'd Ajani back and forth to work out the design and details they wanted, but this customer had merely sent word via messenger that they'd be traveling here. Thankfully there were a couple rooms attached to the forge for such an occasion. Or the inn nearby for those who preferred cooler spaces.
