its my birthday today! whee! so i was thinking... i want to have a lolita style birthday party. lots of cute colors and ribbons! and pretty teacups! i think it would be wonderful. especially if all of my friends could dress in lolita. i think i'm going to wait for the end of spring because thats when the apple and cherry trees in my backyard orchard bloom and i could set up a cute little tent and have a party outside with all the light pink and white blossoms. *dreams*
what would you do if you had a lolita themed birthday party?

First of all... mrgreen HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! mrgreen
I really like that whole tea party under the blossoms idea. That sounds very sweet and serene. I would probably like to do the same, maybe under a gazebo of sorts with rows of columns and flower vines crawling all over.
Or I'd go for a complete opposite theme, something darker, like within a Victorian style/opera house looking ballroom with dark mahogany furniture and crimson silk drapes coming down from the ceiling to provide an indoor canopy feel.

Everybody I know, Is doing the Alice In Wonderland theme. I'm loving this idea, but sadly, I think by the time I become 16, it'll be over used.. sweatdrop
Anyways. Happy Birthday ^-^ heart

Both ideas sound fun. I've always wanted a tea party. gonk I have no lolita friends, except myself (and I don't really like her. ninja )
I think it would be fun to have a tea party, with a bunch of fake jewlery, and costumes to try on, like what little girls do. heart Of course there will be real tea there, and not water

That sounds darling!
I used to have Tea Parties for my birthday when I was little, and all my friends would dress up in cute party dresses.
However now, most of my friends are guys... which would be amusing.. but I doubt I could get them to dress up even.. and my few girlfriends have no idea what lolita is, or are more into cosplay than Lolita. [It seems to get seperated out D=]
That would be fun though ^^

Both of those sound so pretty. @-@
I do have a huge, open deck out it my backyard. Inside my house it's too crowded. I probably want to do something out there. Use vines with flowers all around the polls and overhanging thing. Then have a table with pretty table cloths and tea sets.
I wish I had fruit trees in my backyard. Oh well. X3
My birthday is in a month and I had that in mind for some time now. Guess I got to get to work on planning.
Edit: A maypole would be awesome, seeing as my birthday's on the May Day holiday.

Happy birthday!!
I would want the same thing but.... most of my friends [well, friends who I hang out with a lot, anyway..] are guys, or girls who don't have anything lolita. And ones who don't know how to sew. So it wouldn't work out that well. I was thinking of having a costume party though. Since a lot of my friends are going to go as a cosplay group to AX.....

heart Happy birthday! heart
I was just think of having a tea party just for fun. I have a friend that has no lolita clothes but she loves the style. ^^ I would probubly have it in my back yard, it's HUGE, and we have some beautiful grasses that grow really big, and it would be wonderful to set a blanket down and just lay around... Ah, I love spring/summer!

PsychodelicPenguin +V0(V)17+ thank you all very much! ^_^ i love all of your ideas. its all so dream like. *.* The ideas do sound really fun! Do you have a limited budget on what you'll be working with? If you do, I'd love to hear what you got to help work with it. 3nodding well, i have the same budget as any 17 year old girl with no job has. i think i'm going to use some of my birthday money to do this.. plus maybe do an oddball job here and there.. but i dont think i'll spend over $100. i'm going to drop by craft stores and the christmas tree shop and the dollar store... basically anywhere.. you never know where you'll find someting for cheap$$! also.. i'm going to look for stores that are going out of buisness or moving and thriftshops. i'm a bargain hunter!! oh, and i'm going to ask everyone that i know that if they're cleaning they're attic that if they have any ribbons, bows, or fabric if they can save them for me. spring cleaning rocks!... also i do some trash digging every now and then.. it may not be the most proper thing to do.. but hey, i'm broke! i've actually found my best coats and shirts in the trash. you wouldnt beleive what people throw away, like really nice chairs and tables, and things like that. i'm just going to be on the lookout for anything and everything. and if i end up not needing it.. i can give it to someone who does. at the home depot there have been alot of cheap materials. like 50 cents cheap O_O. so i'm going to look around there and see what ideas pop into my head. like if i were to have a maypole, i'd pick up something at home depot or maybe even off of someone who's throwing it away and paint it with some paint from the craft store. and then get all the ribbons i've collected from people and make it. and even if i dont have ribbons i can get those cheap paper streamers and maybe double them up so that they're a little bit stronger. and it wouldnt cost me more than $7.00. even less if i got the ribbons and the pole for free... its all a matter of creative thinking and bargain hunting really. remember when you used to make tents out of pillows, chairs and a blanket? yeah.. let your imagination take charge. X3 when i do have the party. i'll write what i actually ended up doing if you would like... gosh that was long @_@
