WISTFUL Della has always been a bit of a dreamer. She's always felt as if there was something out there for her, and as a result has always been longing for something... But truth be told, she doesn't rightly know what that may be. She's hardly seen any of the world, so more than anything she would love to take the time to stop, take a look around, and enjoy the world for all its beauty. Sadly there just isn't time for all of that.
COURAGEOUS Everyone is afraid of something, and Delia certainly is no exception. She's scared of plenty. However, Delia is the type that believes true courage is not being brave for the sake of being brave, but to have the guts to do something even when you're bloody terrified. She will never let her fears stand in her way, especially if it's for the sake of someone else.
LOYAL A true friend until the very end. Once you have befriended Delia Lane, she will do everything in her power to be there for you when you need it, even if her being there means some tough love to help push her friends in the right direction. She just wants the best for those she loves.
KIND-HEARTED Della is one of the kindest ladies you may ever know. Although not as quick to trust as her son, she believes there is good in everyone and strives to find that in each person she meets. She is always willing to lend a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on, and she is even willing to give second chances to those that have done wrong. More than anything, she just loves to see people smiling. There's truly not enough kindness in the world, and she knows hers certainly isn't enough, but she hopes that she can make a positive impact on those she comes across at the very least.

EARLY CHILDHOOD Delia Lane (Born Delia Chance) was born as the only child of Jonah and Vera Chance in their small cottage in Godric’s Hollow. Her father, also a former Gryffindor, worked as a potioneer, and her mother, a Slytherin, was an auror. She grew up next door to the Kierans and made friends with their children, Martin and Elysia.
SCHOOL YEARS
Delia’s school years went by uneventfully, really. Her parents were strict and kept her nose to the grindstone when it came to her studies, but it didn't do much good. She was busy having too much fun with her friends. It was during the summers that she truly got to enjoy herself. She would often go to her best friend’s house(Nora was her name, from Gryffindor)on the coast of England for a few weeks, where they had bonfires and parties on the beach.
In her fifth year her mother had tragically passed in the line of duty. Her father became much more withdrawn, and time at home was deathly quiet. Delia had known she should have made more effort to spend time with her father in such a difficult time for the both of them, but as a moody teenager she thought it best to immerse herself with her friends and keep her mind busy. It was during that summer that she met her future husband, a muggle named Marco Lane who knew nothing of the wizarding world. Wanting to reduce suspition, she lied and told him that her friend Nora was her cousin that she visited in the summers. The rest of the time she went to boarding school in the west. Not entirely false, but she felt bad about it, especially as their love blossomed. The following summer, just before she went back to Hogwarts for her final year, they had gotten intimate for the first time, resulting in the unexpected pregnancy of her first child, which she did not discover until she was back in school. Delia wanted to keep her child, she wanted to finish Hogwarts, and she wanted to keep her romance alive… She wasn’t sure how else to do it than confess the truth to Marco. She borrowed Nora’s owl to send Marco the letter informing him of her pregnancy, how she hoped he would stay with her, and that there was so much more she would need to tell him over Christmas. Instead of going home to see her father that year, she had told him of the situation and fled back to Rye to tell Marco everything. Surprisingly, he was very understanding and found her magic fascinating. He proposed to Delia and they promised to wed once their child was born and she was finished with school. When she had to return home to have her child, her father kindly looked after the newborn to allow Delia to finish her schooling. It was the hardest few weeks of her life.

POST-GRADUATION Rushing into adulthood at full speed, the summer after Delia’s graduation was spent with a wedding and raising her newborn son, Orion. Convincing Marco to agree to her name choice was a struggle, but they agreed to let Marco choose a more… Conventional name for their next child, should that ever happen. She left Godric’s Hollow to move in with her husband in a small flat in Rye and lived happily for a while… Until she met Marco’s brother, Joseph, and Marco’s parents.
She had not wanted her in-laws to discover her magic for obvious reasons, but Marco had made the mistake of telling Joseph, and from there things turned into a disaster. The Lanes thought Delia to be a freak, and her spawn the same by default, so they often urged Marco to leave the both of them. Marco however loved his wife and son, and did not see how the magic was an issue. Hoping to gain her in-laws favor, Delia ceased all magic at home and kept her distance when she could. While she would have liked her son to take after her, she desperately hoped Orion would not inherit her magic, even if it meant he would be shunned by magic society as a result. As long as he had family, it would be fine. It wasn’t like they lived amongst any wizards anyway. Maybe no one else would ever have to know…
Fortunately her job of choice didn’t require much magic on her part, and Delia applied to become an astronomer as she always wanted. Amongst the stars seemed to be the only place Delia could find solace.
Life went on as normal for a while, and by the time Rion was four, they had lived to see the passing of both of Marco’s elderly parents, as well as the early demise of her own father due to an illness. Her biggest regret was not spending enough time with the man, but she was cheered to discover she was pregnant again shortly after the funeral. When they found out they were having a son, Marco was kind enough to name their second child after Delia’s father: Jonah. Of course, Delia had to throw in her astronomer roots with his middle name. Her son, like her father, was born under Gemini... So she decided to pay further tribute to Jonah Pollux by naming her boy Jonah Castor. She hoped he would take after him in the future.
With Marco’s parents gone, their busy schedules, and expanding family, the Lanes unfortunately had to rely on the assistance from Marco’s brother Joseph when it came to raising the boys. He chose to move in for Marco’s sake and watched the boys as he worked from home, antagonizing Delia at any given moment. This was fine with her though, so long as Joseph treated the boys well, which he seemed to… At least from what she could see.
Years passed uneventfully up until Delia gave birth to a daughter, Rhea. She was a boisterous tyke, just like her mother. The same year, Jonah began to show signs of magic and Rion began acting out due to jealousy... Delia felt so guilty wishing a squib status on her eldest, and even more guilty when she had to pay special attention to Jonah to guide him through his accidental magic phase. Rion clearly needed attention that neither she or Marco had the time to give. Delia was absolutely shocked years later when Rion had told her about how Joseph was treating Jonah. After a lengthy argument with Marco, who didn't want to just kick his brother out, Joseph was phased out of their family and Rion... Seemed to be doing much better with his little siblings. Delia determined that the strain to her marriage was certainly worth it if it meant the happiness of her little ones. Still... Magic was quickly becoming a touchy subject with her husband. She wondered how he would react if Rhea was a witch as well...
The answer was not well. Not well at all. It turned out that Rhea's magic had sparked a string of several other arguments throughout the next several months, and after years of struggling with her marriage, Delia decided it would be better for everyone if her and Marco got a divorce. She moved to her father's old home in Godric's Hollow, taking primary custody of her children. The divorce was peaceful at least, leaving Delia with a sense of closure and allowing her to move on to the next stage of her life with no regrets.
While it was nice to be back in her childhood home, there were some setbacks. While Orion and Rhea were handling the divorce better than expected. Orion commuted, and Rhea made quick friends with the neighbors. Instead it was Jonah--her sweet baby boy--that was suddenly not coping well. He refused to talk, and spent as much time as possible with his friends Vespera and Sonora. Delia tried her best to be patient, even though he blamed her for the divorce. She didn't want to tell him the full story though; after all, a boy should have a good relationship with his father. Fortunately, the cold shoulder only lasted a few months before Jonah came home from school in tears ready to make up. It was good to have her Sunshine Boy back.
Shortly after moving, Rhea brought home a new friend from school named Aidene. Her father came to pick her up, and it turned out to be Martin Kieran. Excited to see a familiar face in town, the two made plans to go out and catch up. They ended up doing a little more than catch up, considering Delia woke up naked in Martin's bed with a hangover. It was an embarrassing start, especially after being caught by Elysia the morning after, but the two of them decided to continue their friendship and put the mishap behind them.
The following Summer came one of the scariest calls of Delia's life: The boys were in the hospital. Delia rushed to Rye Hospital as quick as she could apparate. Jonah and Sonora were thankfully fine--scarred and traumatized, maybe, but at least they were alive. Delia couldn't have been prouder that the two of them managed to fend off a werewolf by themselves, though she was furious they were out in the woods on a full moon to begin with. Orion, however, barely made it through. Soon enough she found out she had a werewolf for a son. As if being a squib wasn't hard enough on him!
After that, things really went on in a blur. Delia worked. She spent time with friends. She looked after her children. Rhea started Hogwarts. Orion graduated school and moved away. Delia brought Elizabeth into her home and treated her as her own daughter, just like she treated Aidene and Brook. Her children squabbled, and there were certainly scares (First Rion's a werewolf, then Aidene's a vampire!) They each found love at their own pace. Even Delia found her own love again with Martin, and soon enough they were married. She kept her maiden name due to her published works, but loved nothing more than to be called Mrs. Kieran.
A while later, Martin and Delia welcomed Aelius Kieran into the world, and Delia swore after this she was done having kids. All that was left was to raise him as well as his siblings, and to enjoy her years with her husband and growing family.
