EARLY CHILDHOOD Ernesto supposes that his life was about as typical as any muggleborn wizard. Strange occurrences often surrounded him as he grew up, most of which he could not explain to his strict mother. How did he get the cookies from the top shelf? Surely he's been climbing the furniture. How did he break that lamp from across the room? Must not have listened about throwing his ball in the house. Why were all the stray cats on the street always following him home? Ernie must be carrying treats in his pockets when he shouldn't be. All these phenomena had poor Ernesto Valdez stumped until the day a stranger in silly robes came to deliver a letter. As it turned out, Ernesto was a wizard. The "I told you it wasn't me!" he gave his mother was the most satisfying five seconds of his young life, up until she shot back, "It's your magic, isn't it?"

Well, she had a point.

SCHOOL YEARS
Though Ernesto missed his muggle classmates, his time at Hogwarts was nothing short of the greatest adventure he ever embarked. So much to see, so much to do, so much to learn. He was sorted to Hufflepuff, a house that suited him well and filled him with a sense of pride during his seven years. He made great friends, notably one peculiar-yet-charming fellow by the name of Theopolis Payne from house Ravenclaw. He was a brilliant mind and an excellent shot that had one of Ernesto's first year bullies spitting slugs the rest of the week after daring to call him a Mudblood. Through their years they were often seen as a duo, paired together in many of their courses, practiced Keeping on the pitch (they were rival Keepers for their respective Quidditch teams) and eventually became prefects together. It was only after graduation that the two parted ways for a good several years. While Theo was torn between Healer training and taking over the family business, Ernesto had decided to become an auror, the closest magical equivalent he could find to following the footsteps of his detective uncle--the closest thing to a father he had ever known--that was killed on the job during his third year.

POST-GRADUATION While Theo decided to travel abroad, Ernesto went straight into the workforce and began his auror training. For the longest while, Ernesto's life consisted of work, eat, and sleep, with the occasional check in call to his mother. It wasn't until he was a fully recognized auror in his own right that Ernesto finally felt like he could take a breath, one step closer to making his family proud. During his time as an auror he took down several dark wizards, one of which having taken a wild erumpent on a rampage. What was the man doing bringing a wild erumpant into England? Ernesto never got a clear answer. Though he supposed he should count himself lucky to be alive to wonder, considering he was nearly gored and blown up by that monstrous horn.
