»»» BACKGROUND: Born to William Heafy and Akami Heafy, growing up Niko always referred to herself as half Japanese half military. Born in Okinawa, her mother was a native, and father a marine stationed there at the time. Though she was born there, and often visited on vacation, her real home was in the United States. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Niko was a lively child that loved to venture into the forests and mountains of the nearby areas. Though she lived a very regimented lifestyle at home, in the forests and camping is when all of that went out the window. The times when she would get to live on a whim.

Going through middle school and high school, Niko, or Nikky as she more often went, kept a close group of friends. Though she loved both her parents, in her teens, she was a rather rebellious child. Explicitly doing the opposite of what her parents told her to do, or doing things behind there back without telling them. Though with her small group of friends, it was also very easy for her to be found after one of these events.

To those that didn't know what her grades were like it came as a surprise that she was accepted into a fairly decent college, and onto medical school. Though her father was not the biggest fan of his first born girl moving out to Seattle for school, he made her as well prepared as he could. Knowing that one day she would leave the nest, William taught her from a decent enough age to fight, and handle a gun. Being a marine, and the specific unit he was with, William knew the dangers of the world. Knew that foreign and domestic, there were dangers that would come around eventually. So, if he couldn't be there, he'd make sure that his children would be able to survive.

After her schooling in Seattle, Niko found herself longing to be near her family once more. Finding an internship in Portland, the woman moved back and picked back up her life with old friends, new friends, and family she missed. Over the years, they planned a trip out to Yellowstone. Though at first it was planned to be a camping trip, fortune seemed to smile upon them. Niko worked long and hard, and made herself a up and coming star at the hospital. It was this acknowledgement, and the Chief of Medicine knowing of the trip, that she was offered his cabin as accommodation. While at first she declined, Niko could not help but accept when she'd been shown images of the place. While at first she wanted to question how he was able to afford it, even as the chief, she asked no further questions. Thanking the man for his generosity, and telling the group that they'd be camping in first class.
