I was sitting here reflecting on my life this morning. The lights were out and I really wasn't doing anything except reading a couple old PMs from my girlfriend.

I turned on winamp and shuffled through my playlist.

Radiohead - Creep

I remember feeling just like this sometimes. Anyone ever had a similar experience? That is, hearing a song that hit really close to home and flooded you with memories; good or bad?

I've got a couple of those songs.
Too Bad by Nickleback. Reminds me of my mother.
Blurry by Puddle of Mud reminds me of my dad and how he never gives up with me.

I have a soundtrack of friends, not really times of my my life. Songs of when I met them, good times with them, bad times with them and just all around times with them. One of them being Too Bad - Nickelback. It just reminds me of good times in my life, even if it's a depressing song. sweatdrop

Whenever I'm in an angsty mood I listen to The Show Must Go On by Queen(or the Always Look on the Bright Side of Life song from the Life of Brian movie). Those songs always help cheer me up.

There's a Radiohead song(I can't remember the name of it for the life of me). That always put me into a really mellow mood, no matter how I was feeling before it starts playing.

Most of the time I listen to specific songs to match my mood, as opposed to hearing a song and it makes me go into a diffrent mood... there's a specific part of an AFI song that matches my mood more often than not.

Oh, and my CD by The Killers reminds me of my Morrowind game, because I listened to it so much while I played that game... it's kinda funny, I'll be reading a book, or surfing gaia, and a song from that CD will come on in one of my mixes, and I'll immediatly be thinking of certain parts of that damn game xd

I used to repeat Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg mp3's on Napster while playing Starcraft. They are etched in my brain; I know all the lyrics. Whenever I hear those songs, I think of Starcraft.

Haliegh Haliegh A Lie Haliegh by Bright Eyes.

Long time ago, my exboyfriend sent it to me via AIM saying something to the affect of "this feels relevant". I didn't know what was going on, even after I listened to the song, but then I called him. And he broke up with me.

As I found out a month after that one night when we ended up drunk in each other's arms (oh, how romantic), he'd cheated on me. Well, he never quite admitted to it. I didn't know what went wrong between us, and one of the things he said besides "It was too fast" was "infidelities". I hadn't cheated on him, nor given him any reason to think I had, so, over the years, I've assumed that's what happened.

The song hits close to home to this day. For a year after that I couldn't listen to any Bright Eyes, period. He'd introduced them to me and all.

I was a sap. Actually, he ruined a lot of music for me, as we met at a music festival and the only thing we ever talked about was music. So many bands I couldn't listen to for months after him.

I still kind of miss him. Then I remember he's a creep, even though he's one of my best friends these days.

I saw a video clip where Nickelback went to Portugal and the fans started throwing rocks at them.
The singer guy was pissed as hell, and acted all a*****e.

One song I like that really reminds me of some relationships I've had:
Burned With Desire - by Armin Van Buuren

Yeah. ^_^ Mine would have to be, "Here Without You" by 3 Doors Down...mostly because it was a song that I was fond of with my ex. XD I still like the memories though. heart

I have this song (Don't Leave Home by Dido...yes I know...Dido.....) that my 'sister' made me listen to before she went back home (in another country....). That song descibes her and I so well...it's creepy. Now I can't hear that song without thinking of her and getting sad that I can't see her and talk to her...

I have a lot of songs that remind me of certain friends, but that would be a long list sooooo...

the song "Cast Your Fate to the Wind" by Vince Guaraldi but played by George Winston makes me remember a roadtrip I once went on when I first heard the song. I was in Glacier National Park staring out my window, watching the mountains roll by.
