I need people that want to play as a squade of about twelve people but play in the perseption of just there Captin, you can play a grunt under the caption, Talk to me about other posible options. I will make a map of the known world and tearatories captured.I will also post inportant events. Each character will have 1-3 Faith point per-battle (depending on how well of a story teller you are depends on which of the tree levels of Spirituality you have and the corasponding points). It's only as bad as the writer. o-o; I think the best rolelplays are the ones that are orginals. Totally new ones, or some sci fi roleplays. Medieval or Fantasty role plays got boring after a while, you can be a traveler with a sword for only so long. Vampire ones... depends on what the vampire is. o-O;; Since it's a fictional character, it varies from role play to role play. I personally think that vampires are like the ones found in "Cirque De Freak" by Darren Shan. And of course, more role plays don't have a plot that starts out right away, they tend to drag on for a bit. Redwall Roleplays are cool. 3nodding I love the books. But there was this one peron on one of my role plays who ws talking about a "demon tree" if people like that who come on with magic stuff is unneeed, the role play goes out immediatly. But some role plays that are based on books... I dislike them. Like the Harry Potter ones. I can't stand to watch someone take a character that's already made by an author and make up something. It's like stealing, sorta. As I said, the orginals are teh best. Mahia M Here is a great RP that happens to be run mostly by LDS peoplisms. I believe that I'm the only one who is in the AoH Guild, though . . . Anyways, it's based on an original idea, but incorporates characters from any storyline. ((My character is listed under "MahiaStar", because that used to be my avvie name, and the post hasn't been updated o.o)). Also, here is an RP Guild that is just starting up. It really needs more members. Seeing as it is also run by Mormons . . . blaugh  Just thought you might be interested. Mahia M Anyone familiar with Tracy Hickman? He co-wrote the DragonLance Chronicles, the Rose of the Prophet, the DarkSword Trilogy, the DeathGate Cycle, and other stuff . . . He also designed a lot of D&D stuff when TSR owned it.
Anyways, he's Mormon. Just thought I'd like to point out that interesting fact. sweatdrop Glyf Personally, I'm a big fan of fantasy-type RPs, but only when there's a decent plot to follow. The only problem with those is that some people tend to rush along the storyline when they don't think that it's progressing well enough, and that leaves out some character development. I've done a couple that were modern and one that was sci-fi-ish, but as soon as the plot died out, it wasn't fun to do anymore. I think anything's good as long as there are decent players who aren't in any sort of rush. The creators of D&D did no such thing. And I know for a fact that several of them were Mormon. ((Including the aforementioned Tracy Hickman))
Not to mention, D&D was the beginning of RPG in any form . . .

This class challenges PCs who play it to strive to their utmost to read every situation for the good and the bad. They must follow the Right in every circumstance, and encourage their party members to do the same.

I'd check it out, but I'm barely registering the computer in front of me right now. As for D&D, I can't say I've used the system too much... sweatdrop Tried looking at it, tried using it, went flop. More of a free style Roleplayer here. Prefer to work without a system, just play the role. It's all good. I'm gonna work on getting the links to the other games on the front page of this thread once I'm feeling better. And once I veiw over them.... I think it's kinda okay to play someone else's character, as long as you try to keep to it's nature. As far as books go, it really depends on how the reader interprets the character and decides to play them. And I actually have heard of the Dragon Lance series, got a friend who's nuts for them. Or at least she was last I checked.... Hmm. confused I can't think of an idea for Role play right now, still brain dead. Casting ideas would be good. Genres can be mixed if they get old to quickly. (Super forest elves fighting against modern day dinosaurs in space.) But, yah. Original fiction is good. ( ninja Pst. This poster has a link to their game in the banner below.... What if he wanted his crap? *laughs* You know...I'm gonna quote that! xd [Keign] Hmm, well I've been able to RP quite a bit, and it probably wouldn't be wise of me to join another RP, but... I can suggest ideas, I guess. Or, at least in this post, more like rules. 1. It's best to have a good sense of beginning and end to the story, but plenty of room for development inbetween. (So, know your ultimate goal, but perhaps don't make it bluntly obvious at first- or /maybe/ go play by play, but that usually crashes fast.) 2. The whole playable world should be defined, and just about everything about it should be stated. General things, such as literacy, language, clothing standards, culture, magic/knowledge of magic (literacy in a way), government structure, time period in general, etc... 3. Super-death-combo-moves? Those get annoying, at the least set a limitation on use. 4. Flawed characters are good. No, I don't mean you should have some bi-polar sociopath running the streets with a machete, slashing throats, and then suddenly have him stop and have a proper cup of tea with the queen. Though I just realized how much I would enjoy doing that with an NPC, it's not a good idea for a PC except in a really... different world. When I say 'flawed character', I mean not some super-charming noble with superb magical powers and deadly sword skills, and on top of that, he is an expert in stealth, with a perfect record of successes. I say, make your character screw up once in a while, even if only for comic relief. 5. Keep inter-character conflicts just that- between the characters. As ridiculous as it may seem, I've seen people split real friendships with fake clashes of ego, and it's not cool at all. Blah, I think I sound a bit bossy, or know-it-all-ish, or whatever, but oh well. Torch24601 I guess we let Xzerro decide what we're going to do. We'va ll given our opinions, not it's up to him I suppose. ruri-ruri maybe we could rp as our favorate anime or vidio game characters. i have combined three char. one time to create one cool char. i have used the G.U.R.P.S. system that is fun. my aunt made up her own system that is just cool for beginners (and regular gamers). i have game mastered for elfquest before. Just start a thread, walk onto a scene, describe it and it'll evolve into whatever it should be as more people join. It'll work great trust me. You can have people walk onto their scenes and people win interact here and there on the various scenes, the story lines will cross pathes. We don't all need to be on one place. Just start up a thread, walk onto the scene you want. Xzerro.2 It depends on how it's done. Some work that way, others need a real setting or world.
