Menelie
A rare afternoon off early for Kasmai had him uncharacteristically headed for The Tangled Vine. He'd already showered to remove the day's worth of soot and sweat and he had applied his favorite skin remedy. It helped heal his dry skin after a long day in front of the fire, and it made him smell nice to boot. He sat up at the bar, not wanting to take up a whole table for just himself.

Daisicle
Eniko was going about her day as usual at The Tangled Vine when a local she didn't often see at this time of day - if at all - wandered on in and to the bar. She finished serving a pair of pints of cider before heading back behind the counter and leaning over to talk with him. "Hey hun, what you good for?"

Menelie
Kasmai couldn't help but smile, the way she leaned over the counter. "Goodness, do they ever let you leave?" He joked. "Pint of ale and some roasted hazelnuts, if you would."

Daisicle
"Sure wish they would sometimes, but that's what happens when you have a staff of two." She shrugged in response before straightening up. "Ale and hazelnuts - I'll have them right out." She then turned to go put in the food order and pour the drink

Menelie
"Thanks," said Kasmai, straightening up somewhat as well. He looked around, unsure what to do with himself, here by himself. Truthfully he'd much rather be in the cool outdoors, especially after a long day inside, but he hadn't really come here to drink. He'd come for the.....scenery, of sorts. "Are you implying if there were another server I might see you outdoors sometimes?" he asked. His tone was light and jocular.

Daisicle
She was returning with his drink when he made the next comment. "Well, I do go outside when someone decides to sit out there," she was referring to the two tables sat outside for the more... touristy-type who might have preferred to paeple-watch as they ate or drank. "But if you mean around town, then you just might. Guardians know I look forward to the day we get some extra help around here."

Menelie
"Thank you," said Kasmai as he took a sip the pint she'd just brought. "Mm, and what would you do if you had more free time?" He inquired. He was genuinely interested in her response, which showed in his body language. "I'll certainly keep an ear to the ground for someone looking for work."

Daisicle
Eniko leaned against the counter once more in a way that accentuated her modest... assets... and placed her chin on the top of her hand as she gave a wry smile. "Now wouldn't you like to know?" It turned to a smirk, then she stood back up and rolled her shoulders. "No use thinking about the 'what-ifs' though - I'd figure something out with my newfound excess of free time. Be one moment with your snack." Which she left to retrieve

Menelie
Kasmai, who was a better gentleman than to stare, nevertheless appreciated the...view...during his conversation with Eniko. He chuckled to himself once she left. 'Wouldn't you like to know'. Mm. She had no idea, did she? He started the wheels turning in his mind. He might have to pay his great aunt a visit tomorrow.

"Thanks," he repeated when she returned. He leaned one elbow on the bar. "And I would. Like to know," he said with a warm, charming smile.

Daisicle
She returned to place the nuts in front of him, pausing for a moment to place a hand on her hip as she was most certainly flirted with. "Keep trying hun. Let me know if you need anything." She gave him a wink and then went about serving the other patrons.

Menelie
"Oh, I will," said Kasmai, then grimaced at himself. Guardians, but he was rusty.

He drank his ale and ate his snack, and made some quip or another at Eniko when she came by. He didn't want to keep her from her work, but he did want to give her attention when she was able.

Daisicle
Eniko very much enjoyed the little back-and-forth they had going on throughout the rest of the night, but ultimately, she had another early morning the next day to look forward to.

A few days passed same as usual when Eniko found herself polishing some glasses in preparation for the lunch rush. There was one patron enjoying a spiked coffee, but otherwise it was a typical dead morning.

Menelie
Kasmai, who had gotten an early start to work this morning, decided to eschew his typical routine and have an early lunch at the pub. He opened the door and then stood in the doorway, realizing he was already quite dirty from the forge. "s**t," he muttered, realizing that Eniko wouldn't have seen him in such a state before, which was intentional on his part. He didn't like presenting himself like this; he wanted to be clean and smelling nice--especially when he was trying to flirt. His hands, at least, were clean. He remembered her saying there were tables outside and wondered if he could sit out there, even though the pub was practically empty.

Daisicle
Eniko looked up from her glass as Kasmai opened the door and raised a brow as she took note of the fact that he was, in fact, really quite dirty. "Hun, you get in a fight with the forge and lose?" She actually thought that joke was quite witty of her.

Menelie
"The forge usually wins, miss," he agreed with mock seriousness. "But I keep on fighting. Mind if I sit outside and not get soot all over in here?" he hooked his thumb back in the direction he'd come.

Daisicle
Eniko pouted lightly at the formality before making a shooing motion with her hand. "Saves me the trouble of having to clean up after you - now git. I'll be out in a moment to take your order." She watched him go before finishing up polishing and setting the glass in line with the others.

Once outside, she looked him up and down again to confirm he was even dirtier than she'd noticed. "What's got you coming over here without getting yourself pretty first?"

Menelie
Kasmai took a moment to sort of shake out the linen shirt he was wearing to get any lingering cinders off before seating himself. He couldn't help but blush a little. He didn't want to outright admit he'd wanted to see her again, but he did want her to know. "Well," he began, "I got off my normal schedule this morning anyway, so I thought I'd come over here and charm you while I had an early lunch," he said. He leaned back in his chair with a cheeky smile. "I was also curious to see if you're as charming in the morning as you are in the evening."

Daisicle
Eniko seemed pleased with his compliment as she shifted her weight on her heels. "I'll have you know that I am as charming as ever, no matter the day. You should know by now though that sweet-talking me mid-shift isn't going to get you much." She chucked a bit at her own joke before crossing her arms. "So, what will you be having for lunch hun?"

Menelie
Kasmai laughed and nodded a 'fair enough' nod. "You did mention that," he agreed. "And I heard the pub got a new server. Don't suppose she'll be taking the late night shift tonight so I can come back and sweet-talk you after your shift ends?" He paused to pick a bit of soot off his shirt. "After I've had a chance to clean up a bit?"

Ah, lunch, right. He'd had his mind on dessert. "Well, seeing as I've never been here for lunch before, I was hoping you could make a recommendation."

Daisicle
Eniko raised a brow and smirked a bit as he correctly commented on the bar's current affairs. "Now where in Telrunya did you hear that... Not that you heard wrong in any case." She narrowed her eyes slightly as she looked him up and down before continuing.

"Hun, you come back all freshened up and I'll let you try and sweet talk me 'til tomorrow." At her place, of course. She'd feel weird about it with both his father and son on the premises. Girl gotta have standards. "I'll get you a sandwich and some sweet tea, -extra- sugar." She raised a hand to wave back at him as she returned inside.

Menelie
Kasmai couldn't help but smirk. "Mm, it's a small town. Word travels fast." A small pause as he appreciated his own cleverness before continuing. "In any case, I'm glad you'll get more time for....leisure activities." He leaned an elbow on the table and crossed one leg over his knee. He supposed he'd have to guess when she got off work, probably some time after the dinner rush finished. He was already forming a plan.

"Sounds delightful, thank you," he said. And it was truthful. Something light but hearty before going back to work, and sweet tea did sound refreshing.

---

After work Kasmai had gone home and washed up. He took extra care and used his favorite soap, which left a mild, pleasant scent. He fussed with his hair for a while until it was the way he wanted it.

After supper he grabbed a light, sweet bottle of wine, suitable for after dinner and headed out, stopping by the flower seller for a small bouquet. Kasmai waited across the street from the pub, hoping Eniko would be out soon. He hadn't gotten an exact time out of her, and she probably didn't have an exact time to be off in the first place.

Daisicle
It was a bit late in the evening, the sun set some time ago owing to the season, but still earlier than normal for the sprite all but used to servicing this place on her own. She was currently double-checking with Abeta that she knew what to do to finish out the day, which didn't take long. The girl was smart - she'd be fine.

She offered her a wave as she left through the front entrance, and rather immediately noticed the somebody waiting out there. She, in turn, waved to him as she crossed the empty street. "What has you waiting out here all alone?"

Menelie
Kasmai was beginning to lose hope; maybe he'd missed her, or she had to stay late after all. But he stayed, and was rewarded by a familiar female figure emerging from the pub. He perked up considerably and grinned as she approached.

"Well, you see, I had this lovely bottle of wine and no one to share it with, so I thought I'd see if you were free this evening." He regarded the bottle and then made a slight frown. "I seem to have forgotten to bring glasses, however." He turned back to Eniko with a flirtatious smile. "Don't suppose you know where we might find some?"

Daisicle
Eniko crossed her arms and raised a brow, not missing a beat with her return. "Last I recalled, weren't you the glassmaker?" She smirked. "How about you inform me."

Menelie
"Hmmm," said Kasmai in playful thoughtfulness, "Well, I certainly have some at home, but there's an awful lot of people there," he mused, stroking his chin. "You don't have roommates, do you?"

Daisicle
Eniko's smirk remained as she continued their back and forth. "Aww, don't want your father and son to see you try and break 'the curse' you boys suffer from?" She shifted her weight on her heels and reached up to twirl a strand of hair. "But no, no roommates to speak of."

Menelie
"They're also just nosy," added Kasmai solemnly, although he did blush. He wished Cosme hadn't brought it up. Although the way she'd phrased that made him think she had something...in mind for the evening. "Well, then, why don't we look for something to drink this delightful wine from at your place?"

Daisicle
She shrugged and glanced away, then looked back. "If the plan is to finish it, why not just share the bottle? No glasses needed." The reality of it was that, since she really didn't get to relax at home all that often, she just didn't actually have two glasses on hand. It was never something she needed.

"You're free to join me tonight if that sounds pleasant enough for you." She then turned on her heels and started walking off, presumably in the direction of her place, without waiting for his answer.

Menelie
Kasmai did a little skip-hop to catch up with her. "If I'm going to join you tonight then I should give you these," he said, offering her the flowers. "You bring things to pae all day long...I thought somepae, namely me, ought to bring something to you." It felt very silly to say aloud, but his tone was sweet and earnest. "Plus it just seems like good manners for a guy to bring flowers for a beautiful girl he's hoping to....get to know better."

Daisicle
Eniko graciously accepted the flowers with a smile. "Hun, I'd say you shouldn't have... But I do rather like the gesture. These are lovely." She scrunched her nose a bit as she tried to hide her growing smile. "You certainly seem to know how to butter a biscuit up - how in the heavens you got to thinking you're the 'too poor for romance'-sort is beyond me. Seems you have quite the experience."

Menelie
Kasmai practically glowed with the compliment. Maybe he wasn't as rusty as he thought. "Well, you know how it is, if you don't get a chance to practice your skills you start to think you've lost them." He smiled and tucked his arm through hers. "Mm, then again, maybe it's one of those things you never really forget." He was really having fun now. He could see that Eniko enjoyed 'the chase', but the most fun part of being chased was getting caught, and he could sense that he'd almost got her.

Daisicle
Eniko's brows raised as he settled in beside her, but she didn't make any movements to pull away. Much to the contrary, her tail may have just brushed against the back of his legs tight after. "My, my, aren't we being quite forward tonight?"

Menelie
Kasmai made a little breathy noise, almost like a giggle but not quite. The gesture had surprised him, for sure, and in a good way. It was the first obvious pass she'd really made at him, and it certainly lit a fire in the forge, as it were. "Oh, I am just getting started," he quipped.

Daisicle
Eniko smirked a bit and scrunched up her nose as she held back a laugh as she pulled away. That said, if he looked forward instead of at her, he'd notice they were now at the front entrance of a modest hut. She moved to open the door and geatured for him to come in.

"Why, I do hope you'll show me what you mean - I'm very much looking forward to it, and I'd sure hate to be disappointed."

Menelie
Kasmai accepted that invitation and entered, then set the bottle of wine down on the nearest flat surface and nudged the door closed with one foot. He wrapped one arm around her waist and pulled her close. He was actually deceptively strong for having such a lanky figure, especially in his arms. "Been wanting to do this for days," he murmured intensely, then brushed her hair away from her face with his free hand, held her cheek in that hand, and gave her a soft kiss.

Daisicle
Eniko followed close behind and was in the process of closing the door when he finished it of and quite immediately distracted her with something much more exciting. She let him make the first move - how womanly of her - but he'd find she was also deceptively strong from carrying food and drink all day as she more aggressively wrapped her arms up and around the back of his neck to pull him back in as he pulled back from the first kiss.

Only when she was good and satisfied did she pull back to look upwards at him, cheeks flushed. "How about we save that wine for tomorrow sug? Unless, of course, you had something else in mind."

Menelie
Well, any and all thoughts Kasmai may have had in his head went straight out through his ears. He wasn't sure why was so surprised that she'd take what she wanted, but he was delighted to find out. She could have whatever she wanted, as far as he was concerned.

"Sounds great," he agreed somewhat breathlessly. He kissed her again, threading his hand up into her hair and pulling her tight with both arms.
