DBX . . . short for two things. Dragonball Crossover and Dragonball eXperiment. The Experiment being to try and get an intelligent and fun Dragonball oriented RP going.

Now, there will be ratings for the characters in a general sort of way. Any and ALL kinds of characters will be allowed, from Naruto to Superman to X-Men to . . . well, you get the idea.

To balance things out, I'm trying to think of a way to allow for stat boosts when characters slide to a new reality (A DBZ character would have a pooer time of surviving in DC. Contrariwise, he'd fit into Marvel fairly well, and he'd be severely overpowered in many other universes.)

Mules are more than welcome with the limitation of two canon characters per each universe per player. (This is tentative, of course)

Rules thus far. This is a work in progress.

Attributes will each be rated on a general (VERY general) scale of 0 to 11 (No player character SHOULD havwe a score of 11, barring temporary transformations)
Say, for example, strength
0- Subhuman. Crippled in some fashion where this ability is concerned (granted for energy projection, this is exactly human, unless you count thrown weapons. Hmm)
1- weak human. Low level capacity. Woody Allen has a strength of 1.
2- standard human. . . . just have a look around.
3- Olympic human. Mike Tyson at his best.
4- enhanced human. In the terms of physical strength, this is the ability to lift between 1 and 10 tons.
5- Superhuman. between 10 and 1,000 tons
6. Hyperhuman. 1,000 and 10,000 tons.
7. Demigod. 10,000 and 100,000 tons.
8. Godling. 100,000 and 1,000,000 tons
9. God 1,000,000 and 10,000,000 tons
10 Greater God 10 million to 50 billion
Note. 10 is the highest level for most charactyers to achieve.
11. Great Old One. You really don't want to know how strong it is . . .

Rated abilities include (but aren't necessarily limited to) the standards. Energy projection, strength, skill, agility, flight ability, speed, intelligence (To make things simple, this is the attribute that governs psionic abilities.)

Attacks and skills can also be rated. Each skill is linked to one (maybe, in rare cases, moreI Attribute. Generally speaking, the skill shouldn't excede the ability rating, however, in some rare cases, an attack can be (under preset circumstances) higher than the character's ability rating.

Example:Vegita has an energy projection rating of (let's say) 7 (it'll probably be more accurate to set it at 5, barring transformations). Impressive, but not able to destroy planets. But he has an energy skill attack, Garlic Gun. Against a living opponent, it rates as a skill level 2 attack. But against an inanimate object, its rating is 10 (explaining why irt can destroy planets, even though it's a weak attack).

Going Super Saiyan and similar upgrades. Depending on the natuir of the upgrade, a transformation shifts physical abilities upwards. This shift can be (but has to be decided at first, and the upgrade gained will be the same EVERY time it is used) . . . well, in the nature of Super siayan. It can upshift ALL physical abilities by two, including their related skills/attacks. OR it can upshift one ability of the character's choice by three, and the others by only one. SSJ2: In the case of general upgrade, it slides the character up one categories in most areas, but down in one. Specialized charcaters gain two slots in their specialized attribute, one slot in the others, plus they lose a slot in another category (Such as when SSJ2 made Trunks super strong, but really slow)

Other transformations will be handled as they come up.

I'm trying to understand this. How would the upgrades work for someone like Spider-man who (Barring outside influince, being 'over the edge' and bad writing) has a fairly stable power-level? Do his stats go up, or does he get an alternate form such as Cosmic Spider-man?

((Is thinking about being Spider-man in case you couldn't tell.)) sweatdrop

First, he slides most of his stats up a couple of slots each (sort of like how a character who moves from a noirmal world into Rifts gains a massive upgrade in power).

That doesn't mean he can't also gain a power upgrade, such as Cosmic transformation; After all, even with the upgrade, Spidey's still at the mid-level power range.
