Hi, umm... Yeah. I am almost 16, and am almost 130pounds. Now, thats not fat, I know I'm not. I am however, trying to drop a few pounds (like 15) by about mid June. I was wondering if anyone here had recently gone on a special diet or work out plan that maybe you might want to share with me?

Oh, and maybe you could include how long it should take before I start seeing results. I am only trying to lose about 15 pounds. And, I am not looking to take any special pills or drugs to do this.

Why would you want to loose that much weight when you are already so small? Yes, 15 pounds is a lot of weight, especially to an already small person. How tall are you? If you are doing it only for vanity reasons (ex: to look good in something sexy and/or revealing like a bathing suit or summer clothes) then you will be highly disappointed. You may be able to loose that much weight by then, but your body will gain it back plus some if you do it in an aunhealthy way. Most healthy ways take time until you see results like that.

I have been on a diet called the South Beach Diet. It is a fairly popular one. It deals mainly in reduced and "right" carbs and sugars. There are three phases in the diet and Phase One is the hardest! It only lastest two weeks, but it is designed to help rid your body of cravings and get it ready for the actual diet. For two weeks, you are not supposed to have A) any carbs whatsoever: breads, pastas, potates, ect. B) any sugars whatsoever: processed suagrs like in candy, natrual sugars like in fruit and veggies C) any caffine whatsoever: coffes, teas, sodas, ect. The average person normally looses 10-15 lbs during this time. I lost 12 the first time I did it and 10 the second time.

Phase Two is the reintroduction of very limited carbs and sugars. It is designed to help you continue to loose weight in a steady and healthy way until you reach your goal (usually 1-3 pounds per week for the average person). This phase can last weeks, months, or even years depending on how your body handles it and whether or not you stick to the diet and whether or not you exercise regularly.

Phase Three is the reintroduction of more carbs and sugars. It is designed to help you keep off addtional weight and maintain your goal. This is a lifetime, or as long as you see fit, phase.

No matter what diet or exercise plans you decide to use, just realize that you still need to eat sensibley and exercise regularly. Almost anything can be good in moderation. Self control is a must. Some junk/candy is perfectly fine in controlled amounts from time to time. You still need to eat three full meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Simply cutting out sodas and coffee and drinking less tea and drinking more water on a daily basis can help greatly.

Just by being normal and regular and consistant you will be greatly surprised how well it works. Depending on your body type, it may take more then you want it too. If you do decide to use diet pills, shakes, ect just realize that you still nedd to eat healthy and exercise regularly for the full effect. Read the bottles very carefully as well as the ads. They always say results will cary/results not typical and to still eat healthy and exercise. The pills alone will not work in a healthy way.

How funny! That's what I am doing for my main sorce of exercise as well as Tae Bo, which has worked for me before. I do DDR every day and Tae Bo every other day. I work retail so that has me running all over the place, especially on fridays (stock/inventory day), but still that is not enough alone. Atleast for me. I really want to get back into doing Hawaiian Hula but all the halaus (hula schools) around me are mainly for competition only. I wouldn't mind being a part of one that preforms, but not a competition one.

Because you don't weigh that much to start with I suggest you lose weight a healthy way so that you don't risk putting it all back on once your diet is over.

Exercise -
20 - 40 sit ups a night
Do something such as swimming, running, cycling, a class at least 3 times a week but perferably 4.

Eat -
3 small healthy meals and healthy snacks
Nothing heavy right before bed but you can have a small something is you're starving.
If everything you eat is healthy you should have nothing to worry about but you might want to calorie count? It doesn't need to be to the exact calorie, it's just to give you an idea of what you're eating. Eat around 1200 but you can allow up to 1500. To maintain weight you can have 1800 - 2000 but for weight loss I wouldn't recommend more than 1500. Also less than 800 a day is bad because you will lack energy which means no exercise and your metabolism slows down meaning you will not buirn fat, you will store it.

My attempting diet (learned all about this in commercial cooking xD)

Breakfast- Include 3 of the main food groups
(a good one I like is a grilled cheese sandwhich and apple juice)

dinner and supper - All four food groups, supper with bigger helpings

and do a little excersise

See, people think that if they want to loose some weight they should cut out one of the meals entirely, which is very wrong. If you stop eating breakfast, your body starts to think it wont get much food, so what food it does get it will store as fat. (it affects metabolism GREATLY) so the people that think their losing weight, acctually gain some. And you'll know that your eating healthy, when after you eat breakfast, you start feeling starveing. Why? Cuase your body is taking in the food and kicking it out, cuase it knows its going to get more later.

Any drink that is like Apple punch or apple drink, is mostly sugar. You want "Juice" and nothing else.
what else is there...

Seriously concerning excersise, I find if (when doing sit ups, push ups, crunches and such) if you start going as fast as you can, and stop the moment you slow down, it forces your body to use all the energy it has quickly, and since it cant pump out as much energy as it needs when going fast, that it will start taking fat to keep up with itself. And since you stop so soon, your muscels dont ache, and you feel better too. But thats just what I found, it may not acctually do anything lol. but there was a time, when like other guys, I wanted a six pack, so thats what I did.

Its what I do, and Im 15 too, and 5'11 which is above average tall for my age. I dont know how well this works for weight loss, but Im guessing that your around 5'6, and you think you should lose a little weight cuase the people you hang around are skinnier, or you like a guy, in which case, just eat healthy and be yourself.

Milk 2-4 serveings a day
meat 2-3
grain 7-10
fru/veg 4-6
if you eat 2,2,7,4 you will change weight just as much as if you ate 4,3,10,6
and that whole thing about people that can eat like giant plates of food and still be a toothpick, is cuase all their life they have eaten three meals. Or smoke, in which case do not take up smoking. It'll make baby jesus cry. (Cuase he likes his women chubby. xD)

You can lose all of the weight that you want, but it wont necessarily make you any thinner. What I propose to you is just doing some toning excercises to give you the look that most people want.

It's a simple and easy excercise routine that I follow every day.

For toning you would naturally want to life weight. You would want to life a small amount of weight with a lot of reps (how many times you lift) which generally means somewhere inbetween 15-25 pounds, lifting somewhere between 20-25 times, and repeating the entire cycle at least three times.

Cardio helps you to lose weight because it gets your heart pumping, and that burns calories. It is recommended that just to keep your figure you should keep your heart rate between 130-180 bpm for at least 20 minutes, at least 3 times a week.

Doing the same excercises every day like push-ups, sit-ups, curls, lunges, squats, etc. isn't good for your body. To truly help your body you need to let the muscels heal, because everytime that you excercise you put micro-tears into the muscle, and improperly using any part of your body can cause it to tear. If you wish to target every part of your body then switch on and off inbetween excercises, every other day. That way you wont overwork any one area of your body and you will see results faster.

A great ab work out that I use:

20 knee hugs
15 crunches
10 jack knives
15 sit-ups
20 crunches
20 cross sit-ups
15 jack knives
15 hold-crunches
10 knee hugs
20 straddle sit-ups
15 sit-ups
20 knee hugs
15 crunches
20 jack knives
20 cross sit-ups

This workout targets each abdominal area and it works the muscels so well that you're bound to see results. Depending on your body type and how often you do the workout (the best is every other day or so) then it could take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months to see results.

If you need any other information please feel free to PM me, keeping in mind that I'm online quite infrequently though I would love to help.

Just eat less, and then you'll gradually get full faster. I haven't ever gone on any hardcore diets, but said idea seems to work for me.

Just have to make sure that you change how you eat according to your new stomach size. Eat when you are hungry, and only eat until your satisfied; don't eat until you're full.

Taekwondo worked wonders for me, and it was a once a week class.

It really helped slim down my tummy and shape those abs.
