- Video Games -- She picked up a controller at the age of 4 and never looked back. Rin has always loved video games, and they're her prime way of relaxing. She primarily plays RPGs, action adventure, and MMOs, but you can get her to play a shooter like Destiny, Overwatch or Borderlands on occasions. Honestly, she loves them so much, she's trying to make her own!
Game Development -- Her love of video games sparked her to decide to pick up a Computer Science degree and learn how to make video games herself. She wants to eventually open her own studio and ethically make games; no crunch, no sexual harassement, no powerplay. Just some people coming together to make games because they want to.
Ballet -- Her other time sink is ballet. She started ballet at the age of seven and never looked back. It's a great active activity for her, and she absolutely loves performing. Rin has worked up to pointe and pas de deux work, though has no desire to try to make ballet her career. As such, she has not signed on with a dance company in the city, but is looking into auditioning once the retail season calms down.
Pros:
- I can fix that! Tech-savvy -- Erin has always been really good with technology. It's probably a pattern recognition thing, but she's excellent at putting together computers and troubleshooting tech problems. She's not always got the newest tech - she's not made of money - but she can fix almost anything that's computer or console related. She's even picked up some skill in physical repairs on parts too. She can be a little... overbearing if she sees you struggling with something she sees as 'simple' and will want to just do it herself for you, but she means well.
Just gotta be 1% better everyday Upbeat -- For all her faults and awkwardness, Erin tries to embrace it and make the best of it. She knows she can be a lot sometimes, so she tries to balance it out by being upbeat and friendly as much as she can. Doesn't always work, but it's the attempt that counts. So she's often seen smiling and asking people how their days were, genuinely. Even as a retail worker. It's a little weird, to be honest.
Cons:
- I can do it myself! Stubborn -- Erin is, at times, incredibly stubborn about things. She doesn't really like getting feedback about the method she's uses, especially if she's mid project or mid task, and will not respond well if you try. Stars forbid you offer to help. She might want to help all the time if you're doing something techy, but she does not want any help. Ever. She's the embodiment of "no, you move" when in confrontation, and it takes a lot for her to back down. Erin can be seen as very, very obstinate and childish if she's 'not getting her way' and hard to work with.
Wait... should I have not said that? Awkward Turtle -- Erin is great with computers and tech. She's not so great with people. She has a hard time picking up social cues sometimes, and honestly just completely misses a lot of micro expressions because she's looking elsewhere. It's hard for her to keep a conversation going, unless she's asked about something she's passionate about then she will talk your ear off for hours. Worse is, she knows she's awkward. She's fully aware! It's just very hard not to be awkward, and as such she can be seen as detatched or distant. She's not, she promises! She's just worried about screwing up a potential interaction!
General Appearance
Very tiny Greek woman, Rin is 5'2" barely and whip thin with bright green eyes and long hair that shifts from black to purple as it reaches the ends. She's paler than most Grecians, and wears a lot of Graphic T-shirts with jeans. She is almost never without a set of large over the ear headphones. Rin sticks to darker colors in general as well.
