Masterpost of all the best gothic make-up, hair, and beauty resources I can find across the web. Feel free to request more!
+ Tutorials + Tips +
There are no shortage of tutorials on basic goth looks online, and while they all offer something useful to the audience (like how to avoid having your white foundation looking too cakey), most of them are so basic that every goth over the age of 13 already knows it. White powder, red shadow, dark dark black eyeliner. Simple. For that reason, I wanted to try to steer clear of "Basic gothic make-up tutorials"

+ Gothic Beauty +
So this website may or may not load for you, I've been having some issues with it myself. During the 2000s Gothic Beauty was the premier publisher on all things gothic and macabre, with tutorials and interviews. However, it appears the physical magazine is no longer in publication. As of April 2022, it appears their Facebook and Twitter accounts are still active. If this site loads better for you, you may be able to search for fashion and make-up tutorials and tips. UPDATE AUGUST 2024: Gothic Beauty Magazine is back in print and is available for purchase via Zinetastic!

If the official site doesn't work for you, here's an archive with a few issues of the magazine.

Not strictly goth, but this company's selection is bold and expressive, making it good for all kinds of alt looks.
+ Necromancy Cosmetica* +
A 100% cruelty-free, 100% vegan indie beauty brand from Puerto Rico. They make amazing bullet lipsticks and just recently released their A Gothic Romance palette. Be forewarned, the homepage does autoplay music.
+ Baby Bat Beauty* +
Based in Philly, this independent brand features a wide selection of duochrome and multichrome eyeshadows, as well as bath and body products.
+ Glam Goth Beauty* +
Known for their glitters and sticky based primer, this brand recently released their LILY MUNSTAR line, which features a palate using colors lifted from renaissance art.
+ Lethal Cosmetics* +
Based in Berlin, Germany, this company makes a wide range of products, including eyeshadows, blushes, highlighters, bronzers, gel liners, lipsticks, glosses, and liquid eyeshadows.
+ My Pretty Zombie* +
Mostly vegan and 100% cruelty free, featuring a wide range of eyeshadow colors perfect for any look, featuring morbid and sometimes humorous names like I EAT YOUR SKIN! and Mad Cow. They also feature blushes, as well as some lip and nail products.
+ Concrete Minerals* +
100% vegan, mineral based cosmetics, this brand is known for their high quality and highly pigmented products.
+ Fyrinnae* +
Based in a Pacific Northwest, this cruelty free, vegan brand features eyeshadows in both loose and pressed formats, eco friendly glitter, lip colors and other makeup products, as well as perfume. Fyrinnae’s packaging is very simple, but the colors are otherworldly.
+ Melt Cosmetics* +
If you frequent Sephora, you've probably seen this brand. Melt Cosmetics is a 100% cruelty-free beauty brand with vegan offerings, and they make a wide range of different products from lipsticks to highlighters to eyeliners to their popular Supernatural Lash mascara. You can click the link to order from them directly, or check them out the next time you find yourself at Sephora.
+ Devinah Cosmetics* +
This brand make tons of multichrome and duochrome eyeshadows, highlighters and bronzers, all hand blended, hand poured and hand pressed. Manufactured and distributed in Albany, Oregon.
+ Terra Moons Cosmetics* +
Specializing in beautiful duochromes and multichromes, this indie brand offers a wide selection of iridescent and pearlescent eyeshadows, presented in somewhat witchy, space themed packaging.
+ Lime Crime* +
If you frequent Ulta, you've probably seen this brand before. They are no longer an indie company, and Doe Deere is no longer associated with Lime Crime and stepped off the board of the company. This company still has a fairly controversial reputation, ranging from accusations of cultural appropriation, repackaging wholesale products, using toxic ingredients, using animal ingredients (while claiming to be vegan), and threatening beauty bloggers over bad reviews (just to name a few). All that said, they are still a well known name in alt beauty, though I heard one should stay away from their hair dyes. Their eyeshadows are still well liked.
+ K.V.D. Vegan Beauty* +
Speaking of controversy! Kat Von D (now branded as KVD) cosmetics was founded by tattoo artist Katherine Von Drachenberg, who has been accused of blatant antisemitism, as well as having once claimed she would not vaccinate her then unborn child opting to instead raise her on a vegan diet (she has since deleted said post and claimed to have changed her mind about vaccination). However, she is currently uninvolved with the company. Their products are high quality, so if you were unsure about the brand due to Von D's controversy, you may want to give them a chance now.
+ Deadly Sins Cosmetics* +
Australia based vegan cosmetics company. They don't have as large of a selection as most of the other companies posted, however I love the selection of colors they use for their palates, as well as their packaging.
+ Portland Black Lipstick Co +
You very well might have heard of this company before, but if you haven't, it's pretty much exactly what it says on the label. Using high quality, natural ingredients listed on every product, don't let their name fool you into thinking they only sell black lipstick! Unfortunately it doesn't seem that they're certified cruelty free, though since their products appear to be handmade it's hard to say.
+ Notoriously Morbid* +
A West Virginia based make-up company, all their products are handmade using ethically sourced, cruelty free ingredients. Though make-up is their main focus, they also sell products for the home, accessories, and clothing, though it looks as though their clothing selection is far more limited.
+ Arctic Fox Hair Color* +
Another well known and highly rated hair color company, known for having a nice grape scent (unlike most hair dyes that have a chemical scent), and for their commitment to animal welfare.
+ Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab* +
Established in 2002, this shop specializes in hand blended perfumes made from high quality oils, with most of their scents themed around the occult or macabre. They're also known for creating licensed perfume themed around various intellectual properties, including the works of Neil Gaiman, Hellboy, Paranorman, and Labyrinth. They are honestly one of my favorite perfume companies. In addition to perfume oils, they also sell bath and body products, home and linen sprays, and some hair products.
+ Sucreabeille* +
Another natural, cruelty free perfumery, Sucreabeille sells itself as "Handcrafted Perfumes Made for Weirdos like You", though unlike BPAL, their scents are mostly sold in spray bottles. There's a wide range of scents to choose from, including "Goth as ********", or you could go searching through their various collections.
+ Hexbomb* +
Specializing in macabre bath bombs and other bath products, though they also sell perfume oils, home decor, wax melts, and (strangely enough) sweets. They're UK based, but ship internationally.
+ Fabled Fragrances +
Artisanal perfumes and cosmetics. The perfumes are presented in Victorian gothic packaging.
+ Shop Spellbound Beauty + *
Witchy vegan make-up
+ Seven & Six Cosmetics +
Bath bombs, homemade soaps, and make-up, some with a witchy aesthetic.
