The forest breaks into open space, filled with wildflowers and dug dens of random creatures, not just wolves. Outlineing the clearing are stumps, which used to be trees, that the humans undoubtably chopped down to use themselves.

Hm, it had finally calmed down around their homelands...finally. After moving in and getting past the winter, she was sure she could deal with anything, at this point. Yawning silently, she glanced around the clearing, staring at the wildflowers and such that were scattered around her. Lifting a paw, she swatted at them, making them bob and spring back up, not losing any petals. She stood out quite blatantly in the sea of yellow, pink, purple, blue...her yellow and brown coat shimmering against the contrasting colors.

Rune was out on his morning walk, casually and proudly trotting through the woods towards the clearing. He was in charge of keeping communication between this pack and the pack in the mountain. Apparently they had pups as well, three of them, two sons that were being trained to become as able fighters as their fathers. The additions to both packs was small but something at least. They'd be able to unite the packs under them...yes some day it would become a reality and put an end to the dark alphas of the freelands... those so like the ones who had taken his family.
He paused, noting a presence in the area. His haunting eyes soon picked out the small form of Nile, the pack's omega, amusing herself in the flowers.
"I always did like this time of year." He said casually as he moved out to where she could easily pick his form out of the wood's boarder. "So full of life... everything starts anew."

Nile glanced over towards Rune, and perked her ears up, turning slightly when he approached. You startled me. She replied to his words, and flicked her tail, moving to stand up and approach him with her head down. Yes...it's my favorite, too. She nodded in agreement, and plopped back down a few feet away from him.
