Deities, the male was bright. He rolled his eyes as they smirked at their obvious guess, already irritated. Of course, the old geezer was amused with themself; they were just like Sin, weren't they? Was that how all oldies behaved? Disregard the fact Erebus wasn't the youngest fox in the tribe, he just absolutely hated how the older generations acted like they automatically knew how things were going to go.
Or, honestly, maybe Erebus was irritated for reasons not associated with Sin or Doku. Maybe he was just in a terrible mood due to losing her.
Nah. It was the old dinosaurs' fault.
"Mhmm, that's me, complete with that perfume of death he seems to bestow upon us all. Aren't you a lucky guy?" His sarcasm was thick and sharp, but Erebus doubted the male would find offense. Cruor foxes tended to have thicker skin.
He did crane his head briefly to eyeball the mate clinging to the green fox, eyes narrowing. Creepy -- she had Sin's eyes, but with genuine warmth behind them. Yeah; those two were related. She also had similar coloring to Yuki. Weird. He knew they had a family but actually witnessing it was something else.
"Travel far? Hope you're not too tired -- the feast is about to begin and I doubt you'll be spared from it."

Unia had known Doku's involvement with Sin prior. She had met her half-brother a few times, although always with her pressed into the background. They didn't talk -- didn't keep in touch or even acknowledge one another. It had been too hard, something that suffocated her lungs each time she thought of reaching out. Unia lived in a world where she was a caretaker and protector of those considered wrong. Doku had come to her with his own issues and she had welcomed him with warm arms. She was understanding; something she was sure her mate had loved from the start.
But, with Sin, it wasn't about understanding him.
Yuki and Unia had grown up together until Yuki fled home. They had suffered similar abuse and clung to one another to get through it. Yuki fled when they were teenagers and Unia hadn't, lingering behind until she became an adult. Despite not seeing Yuki for ages after, when they bumped into one another they both felt the same kindred connection. They had survived hell together as brother and sister, and Unia loved Yuki dearly.
Sin, her half-brother, was a force who had arrived in her life in a bloody blur, decimating the parents she had never loved and vanishing before they could even exchange a glance to one another. She had only remembered his scent -- death, decay, blood. He had been a nightmare in her dreams for years, reminding her of the worst day of her life. The brief attempts at a family reunion (that ended with the entire family splitting even further and picking sides) had slowly made Sin's existence less something she feared and more something she just.... didn't know. Her and Sin had no connection other than half of their blood and his slaughtering of her parents, and Unia didn't know how to cross the bridge between them.
Could they actually ever be family?
She clung tightly to Doku as he entered Cruor lands, pressing her frame into his. Would Sin be okay with her joining? Would his newest son, the Elder, accept her? Would she be the reason Doku wasn't accepted back into his original home? She cringed into her mate, ears flattening against her skull. She couldn't bear that - being the cause of his rejection. She didn't know what she'd do if she ended up as a burden to her lifemate.
"What if I ruin things?" She whispered faintly into Doku's ear, nuzzling against his cheek. Oh, her heart was racing!
Doku had the urge to roll his eyes but he remembered when he had been younger and had attitude for one reason or another. He was ready to go. The other male was in a mood and he wanted to get Unia settled somewhere she felt safe. He felt her nuzzle and heard her whisper. She was going to have a panic attack at this rate he was sure of it. In a low voice he told her in a comforting voice"You wont ruin anything my love now take slow deep breaths." He made sure his breaths were steady and calm so that she could mimic them if need be before addressing the other male. "Yes he does seem to have a way to give even those not his air of death and blood. There are those that like it and those that don't care for it but if that were the case we wouldn't be here," He paused before commenting "Unia love say hello to one of our nephews." He gave the other fox a look to see if he was going to be hostile with her. He was hoping that he could distract her from her panic by getting her to meet her nephew. Ahmes sat in a patch of light that had made it through the dense trees at the flag that indicated pick up for those wanting to join the tribe. He hadn't thought much of tribes to be honest. Ever fox could either join one or not and wander. He might have toyed with the idea in the past but he couldn't be sure exactly and that was way before he meet his lovely mate. He knew the idea of a tribe after becoming mates with her and having kits was out of the question. Her spirt, her fire was to much for what most tribes allowed and she would more then likely get banished for whatever act she had deemed needed and he would leave after her. So they never sought out a tribe till now. Now there was one that was accepting of his lovely mates more violent behavior. With that thought he glanced up into the trees and smiled. To anyone else it would look like he was smiling at a tree but he knew what was really there.
From high up in the shadows of the tree branches lavender eyes scanned the forest floor below and the patch of light with a flag and grey fox. Not any grey fox but her mate. He was on the ground to meet their guide for he knew she wouldn't put herself in a vulnerable position. He didn't even have to ask or discuss it with her he just knew. He was more calm and at ease then she even when she sometimes wished he was more on edge like her. But she didn't ask him to change and he didn't ask her. They were them and they worked. She had the advantage on those wishing to harm her from the trees being a much smaller then average female and sometimes size beat skill.
She was quite during the kick off. Still behind her wild mane there was a soft smile. “yes.” Her voice might not have been heard over the flight itself but she had indeed come to a choice. She knew she cared for Ithel. She had no doubts about it but was worried for the joining of the tribe. Still the deava’s answer had helped to calm her heart. She spoke up again to Miles. “Yes. I am sure. I know Ithel and I care deeply for him. More then I think I should at times. What I worried was well. All the rest that wasn’t Ithel.” She wondered if that was a good way to put that the tribe had scared the fur on her neck straight up for a while a long long while. “But even if I miss him when he is out or busy I know that my heart isn’t the only one who knows that pain.” And there it was. She didn’t mind thievery, murder was a bit bothersome but wouldn’t stop her but a tribe that was honesty with her and knowing she wasn’t alone in times when it came to missing her mate and having someone who she could talk to was the last piece she wanted to confirm before she chose to join. She couldn’t talk to Balor he was rather intimidating and many of the other members of the tribe she knew were solo, grumpy, hermit like foxes.

^.^ she's quite sure about things just happy to know she isn't alone if Ithel is to busy to be near her for a while.
Ixen padded off to see his mate by the riverside and did in fact find Yuki laying down. “Hello there.” He had a warm smile on his face and moved to see his beloved mate. “Seems like your special food request got filled by Cheyenne. Make sure to say thank you as she did a great job though her mouth made sure to complain all the while.” It reminded him of having a grumpy unruly child who would follow instructions and liked to be praised but wanted to have a grumpy aloof image the whole time. It was rather enduring in it’s on way. “Having everyone here makes me feel like we have more children then before Yuki.” He leaned to nuzzle his mate when he got close enough. He was surprised Yuki wasn’t at the feast area already. “Everything alright or have something you need to do before the feast starts?” He didn’t know why his mate was laying down still and not knowing about the injury was curious.

aww poor Yuki
Ithica smiled when Murmer mentioned the second garden would be nice. She understood plants could be very fragile so she really would need guidance on how to care for them but she would be very happy to help dig and maintain a garden. After all it could only help the tribe. “Yes, though honestly I don’t know much about plants. I love the sweet lemon scented ones and the ones you can use to numb pain with if you get hurt. Still I know almost nothing about growing them, so as long as you’ll instruct me on what you need me to do I’ll be happy to follow your words.” She grabbed the branch she was cleaning up and followed Murmer toward the fest she dropped the branch off in a side pile she was going to be picking up after the feast was done.

I don't know why she likes the numbing plants but her muse is a strong advocate for lemon scents and pain relief if inured.
Now she was worrying her mate -- great. Unia smiled faintly up at him, swallowing her panic for him. The Elder had to have known about her anyway, right? She knew the new Elder was not Sin, but the male had been aware of her existence a few times prior; he'd have told the new leader eventually. If Doku had still been invited then, in the end, it was fine. Or, that's what she hoped, at least. She still twined her tail around Doku's, gently squeezing it when the black and white fox leading them had turned his gaze away for a moment.
Doku summoned her attention and, for a brief moment, Unia wondered on it. He clearly was taking the reigns of both the conversation and experience, and normally Unia didn't mind. Doku was a doer -- someone who took over when needed and guided her gently. Currently, though, she disliked the attention brought to her, hiding it with a soft smile and the sound of her clearing her throat. She couldn't just drift by, anyway; Doku had a point. Attention was going to land on her whether she wanted it or not.
"Hello," she called out faintly. She didn't push further, not necessarily ready to converse with anyone but her lifemate until her nerves were settled, or until she had to.
Erebus did his best to ignore the lovey couple's murmuring, although he wasn't the most successful. It irritated him further, digging into the pits of his stomach as he felt himself almost boiling over. He wasn't going to, he knew, but Deities it was hard not to snap under the pressure of his unaddressed feelings over his lifemate, mother, and some siblings vanishing. Reigning in his emotions was not something either his parents prioritized in teaching him, but Erebus didn't want to be like his parents. He didn't have the energy to deal with the consequences of a lost temper.
"Things have changed," Erebus answered Doku, vague intentionally. Gone were the days Sin led, but he still held an impact as The First. He doubted Doku would find much familiarity with the members currently a part of Cruor, though -- especially with those like Fey and Marina. Foxes of softer and brighter natures. Fey's neon pink and flowery scent was definitely an example of what was new, and even Sin's blood couldn't find its way onto her.
An ear flicked as Doku directed the woman, glancing briefly over and noting the dynamic. It seemed his aunt was a soft one. Interesting.
"Hi," he grunted back, although Unia had piqued his interest. He turned his attention back to leading the two, leaping over a fallen log. "Solarie? The old man mentioned something about that. Wasn't great on specifics -- is that another tribe?"
Max had been sent out to pad between the pick-up points and he was already tired. So many new faces, so many foxes to hold their paws and lead them to Balor. He had sent out quite a few invitations and advertisements, hadn't he? Max couldn't complain too much -- Balor had done the same to him and it resulted in the male finally finding a home, but still. Had this been what the others had gone through when he first joined?
The feast would start soon and Max would be relieved of his duties for the day shortly, but not before he would have to bring over two foxes (noted to him by Miles, who he swore could have handled the job himself). As tired as he was he wondered how exhausted Balor was going to be after talking to so many potential new members. It was good for the tribe, though, and Max wasn't going to let his Elder down.
"Yo!" He shouted the moment he saw a fox sitting by the designated waiting spot. Weird, Miles had said there were two. "You here for the feast and to talk to Balor? I can le-" His voice abruptly cut off as his head snapped upwards - aha! He wasn't a Scout for no reason, after all! He had caught the scent of the second one, although they were still well hidden from view.
Huh, whoever that was would definitely be useful for Cruor.
"Nice spot, anyway -- ready to come with? I'll need everyone to be on the ground when we get closer, but you can stay up there 'til then, no worries."
He knew that tone -- it was the same one he had at first. He respected her and anyone who joined for love. It wasn't an easy choice while the tribe was new in its return and had yet to prove their mission. Prove their loyalty to one another. He had been unsure himself at first, wondering how many of the pretty words laid under false smiles and intentions. Meeting Balor, however, had confirmed their honesty. That man had a look. A look that had made Miles realize he had meant every word he said (and scared the s**t out of Miles sometimes, but that was beside the point).
"We're here," he broke the silence with, descending with purpose a few steps from his leader. Balor raised his head and Miles lifted his to watch Frostflame come down.
"If you need anything I'll be helping sort the food out," he said to both Balor and Frostflame, offering the 'Phim a faint nod. She'd do just fine.
The 'daeva had landed quickly and with purpose before Balor and he immediately could sense what Miles had brought to him, which was confirmed as a flash of red caught his attention in the sky. Ah, so she had finally decided to speak to him. Miles caught his glance as the 'daeva headed off in the direction they indicated, their gaze lingering. Balor was used to the hesitance -- some of the newer members were still growing accustomed to even having an Elder, many of which having come with lives that had previously never imagined being in a tribe.
"You've come at a good time, Frostflame," he called once Frostflame was within earshot. He had been warned about the numerous visitors about to come upon him. Frostflame had the benefit of bearing wings, finding herself before the Elder first.
"Is there something you wish to discuss?" He knew the answer, but Balor wasn't going to trap her into the conversation. She had a moment to change her mind.
Yuki twisted onto their side when he heard his mate's voice, tail wagging despite his positioning. Delight spread across his face and he squirmed to let Ixen closer, pressing into the nuzzle fondly.
"Did she? She's sweet -- I like her." Cheyenne would probably growl if she heard his compliments, but Yuki found her endearing. Now Ixen was treading dangerous waters mentioning children, but Yuki had long relented to embracing the role of grandparent (with a few greats for some of his busier family members). Oh, he'd love more kids, but there had to be a point where you had to stop.
Although....
Anyway! Yuki tossed the baby fever aside and grinned up at his mate, faltering only as Ixen evidently asked the question Yuki knew he'd present. Nothing went by his mate. He raised his injured leg with a pout, ears lowering.
"It's not that I don't listen. I do. But I dislike swimming and across the river were a few mushrooms that Murmur had wanted. So I tried to cross it using the stones and fell. I think it's twisted."
"I'll teach you, then," Mumur promised. "It'd be good for the plants to have another set of paws. Only us, though. I don't invite visitors." Everyone knew Mumur was protective of her garden and one needed express permission to view it.
"I'll see Ithy at the feast, yes?" She had moved to depart from Ithica, mostly to check in and see if her father or mother was nearby.
Doku He could sense his mate's discomfort with talking and felt bad for trying to get her to talk. He was hoping it would help her ease up since the male didn't seem that bad but he wouldn't push it any further and let her do anymore talking on her own time. He felt her tail squeeze his and gave a half smirk. "That is to be expected. Nothing can stay the same. I am curious to see what the changes are." he paused before answering the other questions. "Yeah Solarie. It is another tribe though it isn't as big as it used to be. As time has passed the members have been leaving for one reason or another. Last I knew the elder was missing."
Ahmes His gaze was pulled away from the trees to see a white and green male approaching. "Hello, yes I would like to." He called in greeting then paused as the other male trailed off. He was a bit surprised that the male had a general idea of where Arundahati was. He knew she wasn't going to answer so he did for her. "Yes they are ready and will come down when they have to."
Arundahati Her ears pressed against her head and her teeth were bared slightly. That one was smart to use his nose but it still annoyed her that he had a pretty decent idea where she was. She let out a low hiss at the idea of having to be on the ground but she knew she had to. She was pleased that her mate left her status vague. Lets see what they thought of a female smaller then most but is a whirlwind of teeth and claws at times.

Invited by Balor himself, Sibyl had been told a few days ago to wait at the outskirts of the tribe for an escort. A scout or guard - something along those lines, she couldn’t be bothered to remember - would seek her out and safely lead her into the depths of Cruor so she and the elder could discuss the matter of her joining their ranks. He had noted her abilities during their initial meeting, commenting on her eye for poisonous plants. And she had to admit, the entire concept of the tribe did draw her interest. The freedom to do as you pleased without judgement or any sort of major restriction? That was something the world could use more of.
So here she was, waiting right at the border, choosing to follow instructions.
...Well, for the most part. Never one to follow the rules a hundred percent, Sibyl had chosen to tiptoe into the tribe’s territory, lounging on the surface of a fallen tree. Not an act that would cause a stir and raise alarms, no, but just enough to catch someone’s attention, should they be looking for her. “My, what an interesting place to settle down.” The vixen commented, mostly to herself, slender tail idly flicking to and fro.
Smiling she nodded at the deava as he left leaving her alone with the smaller leader. Smaller yet to her far far more intimidating then the deava had been. A good time? Well that was reassuring given how busy the tribe had seemed as of late.
”Yes.” She nodded honestly having no reason to shy away since it wasn’t like she ever came and spoke with him unless there was something that needed to be talked about with him. She glanced at her paws and then looked up at the tribe leader. She had practiced something of a speech for the past night and half the morning before she got picked up and escorted but it was all gone now that it was time for it to matter. ”“I have been here with Ithel for quite some time. I am not going anywhere so you might as well make it official for the rest of the tribe since I’ll be here until my feathers turn grey and I’m too old to fly.” She was rambling a bit but the gist was easy enough to understand. “I’m not strong or tough or fierce like other members of the tribe but Ithel is mine and I’m not returning him ever so I might as well take all of you as well. I want to live in the tribe properly and get to know the rest of my new family that I’ll be claiming.” It was perhaps the bravest she ever felt and the most scared at the same time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- He leaned down and gently kissed his mate before investigating the paw. He hoped his paws digging into the soil with worry would be missed by Yuki as as soon as he heard his mate was hurt he was instantly bothered and part of him had tensed up. Still he tried to relax himself while he looked over the paw with caution not wanting Yuki to think he was mad at all. He was only worried over his mate. Well it did indeed appear to be a sprain. He was actually a bit relieved to find it was only a sprain. “No matter how hard you try I doubt you’ll ever be able to fall up.” He joked at his mate and gave him another kiss. “Alright. I’m going to assume the river claimed your prize on the way way back. If you left a few there I’ll go snag them so we have something to show for your venture and I’ll help carry you back. Sound like a plan?” If Yuki wanted to go back with the mushrooms he was fine with that but Yuki had wanted them to be nice so Ixen figured he would check first what his mate actually wanted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nodding Ithica nodded her understanding. “No problems and of course you’ll see me at the feast. I wouldn’t miss spending time with the rest of the family.” Her family was a rather large section of the tribe after all so it was nice to see everyone even if she didn’t stand out as much as many members of the family. “I just have a small stop to make at my den first.” She had a suprise to show her father later. “See you there Murmur” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ithel was partway back though tribe lands now. It wouldn’t be long until he was back properly
Unia pressed into Doku, returning the comfort he offered. The discussion of Solarie left her feeling nostalgic for the days of her youth, back when her children were still small and running around her paws and they were all together. She missed raising kits, but she felt too old to raise another litter of her own - although she wouldn't be upset if it happened again.
He hadn't heard much of Solarie, but Erebus hadn't left Cruor lands his entire life. He grunted in acknowledgment, glad that Doku and his mate were able to keep up with his quick pace - he could get them to Balor in no time and free up his own evening in the process.
"It's up there." He nodded towards a break in the trees, where the tribe center rested. He could catch the sight of various foxes milling about, likely preparing for the upcoming feast. As Erebus drove them closer he could see someone speaking to Balor, pausing and settling onto his haunches.
"That's Balor," he announced, head jerking to indicate the dark thorned fox speaking to a red 'Phim. "Stay with me until he's free. Were either of you hungry.... or need anythin'?"
Max caught his response in his throat, debating the importance of getting the mysterious other fox to answer. It was dangerous for them to remain hidden, but he'd trust that the male knew his partner well enough to promise they'd show themselves soon. That, and, at the risk of sounding like a jerk, Max didn't really care too much what happened to strangers if they bumped into a Guard or Balor. They weren't Cruor members yet, after all.
"Awesome, cool cool." Good enough for him! He turned abruptly around and started the journey back towards his Elder, head high and tail flicking idly. "So, were you personally invited, or did you hear about us from somewhere else?"
'So you might as well make it official for the rest of the tribe.'
His head sharply cocked to the side, mirroring the bird-like twitch of his blood-stained adoptive father, face devoid of any emotion to offer towards Frostflame. Anyone else might have received a two-toned comment, correcting the authority of such a statement. Anyone else wouldn't have dared such a thing, however. It amused him to hear it from someone so evidently unsure of his presence and unnerved, promising him a future of unpredictability from her if she continued to meet his expectations.
He liked it.
His head corrected its angle slowly, mouth parting into a fraction of a smile. "You underestimate your own strength," he answered, fond of sentences that led to no direct indication. He held the silence, eyes drifting towards the direction he had last seen Ithel, as if considering her mate in the grand scheme of his response. Ithel was direct family; a good enough reason to end his teasing and give the 'phim her acceptance.
'I'm not returning him ever.'
He leveled his gaze towards Frostflame, regarding her. Return was an interesting word -- as if she had stolen Ithel from the family, or had the ability to take him back. He withheld the desire to remind her that she was on Cruor soil; Ithel had brought her here. If anything, Frostflame had been taken into its maw, but if it soothed her to believe otherwise he would permit the fantasy. That, and she spoke of a desire to claim the rest of his people--his tribe--, and truthfully Balor appreciated the sentiment. As if she was a true Cruor-borne already.
"Then it would be a shame to pretend as if you weren't one of us already anymore. Welcome, Frostflame. We've been waiting." As eerie as the ending sentence could be taken it held a warmness he had yet to ever offer her before -- a tone he had reserved for those of Cruor exclusively. She was family now, after all; one of his own.
"We can discuss your ceremony after the feast; you should find Ithel and settle in. I'll announce the good news tonight, over dinner." He regarded her warmly, nodding in approval. Ithel had picked well.
((OCC:// Frostflame is all set! + o + She can now attend the feast as a brand new member~ ))
Yuki rumbled in a soft purr in acknowledgment of the kiss and brushed his cheek against Ixen's, doing his best to hide the look of guilt that had swept across his features when he noted Ixen's anxious paws. 's**t. I worried him.' He was sick and tired of finding new ways to stress his mate out as if Yuki was some defenseless animal, keen on breaking whenever Ixen turned their head. It couldn't be easy on Ixen.
The mushrooms-- shiiiit, the mushrooms. He hadn't actually looked to see how many he had lost, and with a quick turn of his head, he confirmed most were gone.
"There's a pawful; I suppose we could grab those and head back with them." If anything they could be useful for the Shamans. He sighed and rolled his head back to observe Ixen, head canting to the side. A piggyback ride was certainly not something he was going to decline.
"I do love when you carry me -- deal."

Niril had been sent out to pick up someone -- he hadn't been informed whom, but Balor had insisted it was someone of note. Someone the Elder-to-be had wanted. as if that helped narrow anything down for the vampire. Niril was not the social sort but he was obedient where it counted and wasn't going to deny the order, even if he felt the urge to sigh. He still found himself at the border on time, spotting the strangely colored vixen fairly quickly.
Hopefully, she wasn't a talker.
"Hello." He stopped a respectful distance from her, curling his tail around his feet once he settled. "Are you Sibyl?" He canted his head to the side, politely waiting for her answer.
Doku hummed as Unia pressed into him. Letting her know that he enjoyed her touch. He knew he that she was thinking of their kids since the mention of Solarie and while she might not feel the same he wanted one more litter with her. He wouldn't push for them or demand it but it would make him happy and he knew in the long run it would probably make her happy to. Glancing at Erebus as he came to a slower pace and then halt Doku stood by his side. "No I'm good thanks,"looking over to Unia "Love?"he questioned. He knew last time he was here he had to fight his way in and doing so on a full stomach wouldn't do. He wouldn't let Unia fight if it came to it he would fight her battles but he had heard things were done differently here so he would see.
Ahmes was used to abrut movement given that his mate did this often enough he had no problem keeping up with the white male. As he walked behind him he answered the question. "We had heard about it in passing as we have traveled. We have been pretty nomadic our whole lives and as we heard about Cruor felt that it would be a good fit."
Arundahati could see that the other male had wanted to say something but held back. She let out a low threatening hiss. She wasn't sure want the male was going to say but she was protective of her mate. As they started to move she jumped from tree branch to tree branch following behind them. The pads of her paws canceling out any sound that would alert someone of her presences.
