⇨☾⇨This is a good place for nerds who want to catch up on their book lernin'. The bookstore has lounging areas for reading with couches and other creature comforts. There are multiple sections covering every genre imaginable at reasonable prices.
The storm died down, destruction caused, civilians gone more or less. With Decus' public display he was sure that there was no longer a place for him at the DWMA. But that was fine, he always planned on leaving the DWMA anyways. Red colored soul in hand as he left the City Hall and it's surrounding areas likely with his two new companions in tow. A weapon who's mindset was quite similar to Decus' own, which pleased him so. Such a person Decus would not need to worry about lagging behind or holding him down. A weapon he didn't need to wield for them to be effective was perfect. The other companion, a witch who clearly embraced madness and showed little fear in the faces of things she probably should. The woman who approached probably the two most dangerous people at City Hall non-chalantly. The witch was going to be his own key for future endeavors though.
Decus for the time being had no plans on where exactly he would be going. He ended up wandering to a nearby bookstore, which was perfect. A quiet place where the three of them could sit, talk, think about what to do next. "Rex, Azalee." Decus began as he would take a seat at one of the bookstore's tables. The chaos in town had cause most people nearby to rush out rather quickly so it was easy enough to get in the otherwise empty building. "We will need a place to hideout." He said first, the most important thing on the list of things that needed to be done in his head.
Like many of the other witches currently in the city, Karma had been drawn in by the massive madness storm that had descended upon the populous. Though knowing that curiosity kills the cat, Karma thought it best to stick away from the battle field. Instead they found themselves at one of the local bookstores where they weren't going to be noticed that easily. For awhile Karma did watch the storm from the front of the store, but as the storm subsided, as did Karma's care to watch. Eventually the found themselves wandering down the various halls of shelves that the book store contained. It was rather peaceful now that all of the other people had run off for their lives.
That was until Karma heard the door open, followed by foot steps and hurried whispers. 's**t. Did they find me already?' Karma thought to themselves as they placed a book neatly back into place. They would then turn a corner and walk toward the voices. 'Who're these guys? They don't look like they're Death City types.' The shadows became Karma's friend as they sunk into them and eavesdropped on the meeting. Only to make sure they weren't bad news of course.
Bloodsucker Tier One ↯ Blood Magic ↯ By manipulating the circulation of blood in the body, the bloodsucker is able to move faster and they can dodge for one level less in resource. This perk is usable once every five posts. ⇩ ↯ Full Veins ↯ While in bats form, the bloodsucker can absorb 1/2 of the resource of a technique they dodge in this form, once every five posts. ⇩ ↯ Vampires Suck ↯ A bloodsucker's technique can be recast for no action or cost at one level lower in strength. This perk is usable once every five posts. ⇩ Tier Two ↯ Count Chocula ↯ Once every five posts, the bloodsucker can use one magic technique from any known skill tree for no cost or action while in bats form. ⇩ ↯ Nosferatuuuuuuu ↯ By applying mana to the blood vessels, the bloodsucker is able to defend against incoming attacks up to one level above the level of mana applied to the blood vessels. This ability has a five post cooldown. Tier Three
Electromancy Tier One ↯ Thunderstruck ↯ When the electromancer performs the Thunderbolt spell, a copy of the technique can be sent out that functions one level lower in strength. This copy costs no action or mana, but this perk is only usable once every five posts. ⇩ ↯ Mister Electricidad ↯ An electric technique can target an additional opponent without dividing the strength of the technique once every five posts. ⇩ Tier Two ↯ I Was Shakin' In The Knees! ↯ When the electromancer performs the Thunderbolt spell, they can create a copied electric strike that costs no action or mana. This functions at the same level as the base technique and is usable every five posts.
Not compelled to leave after the discord wrought by her new acquaintance died down, either of them infinitely more interesting than returning home. Following along to the quaint library filled with books normal people frequented, of course with some additional sprinkled additions more obscure that would be more exclusive to death city. She strolled around the first couple of shelves for a short while before anything else, simply curious as to what it was offering and impulsive picking up two different books after a short time of looming near Karma but not seeming to notice him. After making her selection she brought herself over to where Decus and potentially Rex was seated, taking a chair for herself and placing the books on the table before gently seating herself. Her eyes trailed from the books up to the other two with a more calm and studying look than she offered earlier as she thought about who she was with. One a weapon whom she assumed was meant to be aligned to lord death, then this Meister who had ultimately ousted himself as a traitor to their cause for multiple reasons, murder and consumption of souls would be the main ones.
If the one called Rec was with Decus then that would mean that he would be likely given the same treatment, especially due to not intervening in what the latter had done. It might had gotten awkward as she sat almost unmoving and unblinking, save for the light signs of her breathing and the occasional, space of blink, having had nothing but time and herself for so long left her inconsiderate of others time. Still the wait was worthwhile as her mind came to the conclusion that their treachery and actions made them unimaginably interesting, a rouge weapon and Meister of their strength was something almost unheard of and they both also comprehend the value of true freedom(Madness). ”A place to hide? It would seem that the two of you certainly do if the lord of death was paying any heed, such a predicament for those without helpful friends isn’t it…” The words and tone made it almost sound like this didn’t actually affect her as in reality, she had nothing to worry about…. the last statement having a note of implicit meaning.
She took a deep breathe and closed her eyes for a second, seeming to take a paused to gather her thoughts and possibly let what she said sink in. After doing so she would place her hands on the table, indicating toward the two of them with a hand each and would continue speaking. ”You both however seem like really interesting people that I think I might want to be friends with, I’ve not had the chance to make any in a loooooong time. So if you two might want to give something like that a chance… as a friend I could probably to help you out, I am really good to friends whom are good to me eheh!” Though the words and tone was incredibly sincere and even a little bashful or uncertain, the woman pressing her fingers together nervously as she spoke along with a few other obvious signs. This didn’t exactly make things seem totally ok as her wide red eyes would stare intensely, her body was very still and rigid and other natural, subtle signs would imply this wasn’t something as simple as it sounded and that she was dead serious, her gaze filled with a century of time thinking about this sort of thing. Even the smile and giggle despite coming off as cute and natural, had the hints for those paying close attention of the fact this all came from the unhinged and that her offer was something one might want to consider and read into before answering, insanity can be delicate after all.
They were definitely a ragtag trio, Rex had to admit. Still, he didn’t mind the presence of these strangers. And as the three of them hid away inside of the bookstore, the man wondered what the next move was. He sat down at an abandoned table, carelessly perching his feet up on the table. “Hmmm, hiding out in the realm of witches, huh?” Rex smirked, leaning his chair on its back legs. The wooden chair creaked as he rested his cheek on the knuckles of his hand as he looked at Azalee. “And how do we know you aren’t gonna tear us apart once we get there, dollface?” Even if she didn’t explicitly say it, it wasn’t hard to figure out for those in the know. Witches have been hiding from the DWMA for ages, so the knowledge that Arcana existed wasn’t as hidden as the actual realm was.
“And even if we do take you up on that offer…” The Weapon turned his focus to the Meister of the trio. He was the one they were following. He was the one with the smell of something new on the horizon. Rex couldn’t read him, not yet. But that just drew the weapon to him more. “...what would be the next move? What is it that we’re doing? Turning away from Death and the DWMA is gonna have big, and I mean big, consequences. I wonder if the reward is worth the risk.”

These can be things like the untrackable 'eye squiggle' that some people get in the corner of their vision, but can also be things like vague doodles that can't be looked at directly or even visual glitches in the environment that fix themselves once the opponent(s) look at it. ] ⇩ ↯ Tantrum ↯ [ The user emits their soul wavelength across the battlefield and prevents all techniques that heal Madness from functioning for one post. Additionally, this perk enables these two usages to destroy a same level or lower defensive-based technique or spell. ] ⇩ ↯ Disordering ↯ The user emits a screech which disturbs the souls in the area prevents opponents from entering soul resonance for one post. This does not effect opponents already in soul resonance. This can be used once every five posts.
Decus wasn't much of an observative sort, or at least not in the way quite a few meisters were. As such he was unaware of the other who was within the bookstore alongside himself and his two new allies. The witch seemed to have a weird sort of mannerism about her, however that was fine by Decus. It wasn't like he chose to use her for her clear head, he barely knew her outside of her seeming mad. Rex had a good point about the situation as well, how did they know whether or not she was gonna tear them apart when they got there? "Well, not like she could. We'd just kill her if she tried." He spoke plainly, and confidently. Showing the level of confidence in his own ability and surprisingly in Rex's as well. Decus would lean back in the chair in the bookstore he chose to sit in. Pushing himself with his foot away from the table and on the back two legs of the chair.
"You're right, big consequences. I'll have to become strong enough to deal with Lord Death and probably The Witch Queen eventually." He said something that probably seemed rather outrageous, but in a very plain way. Like that sort of thinking and saying such was something normal for him. He continued his train of thought though, other ideas in his head being displayed through his words. "Whoever's face appeared in the moon. Probably has the power to go against those two themselves....maybe we have to find them." He pondered, his thoughts spilling from his mouth. "Then probably have to fight them too..."
