Surfing -- Her parents taught her how to surf when she was tiny. And surfing has been the best way she has of connecting with her parents as she’s grown and gone into the Temperamental Teens. Fortunately, her dad being transferred to Mayet for work hasn’t resulted in the absence of those peace-giving waves. It might be a slightly longer drive to reach them, but you can still find her out surfing every weekend that she can manage. Her board is her precious and may the gods of your ancestors take pity upon you if you stand between her and an epic wave.
Skateboarding -- For those days when Arilee can't escape to surf, there's always skateboarding. She’s been skateboarding for nearly as long as she’s been surfing. And sure, she's gotten beat up a little when some trick goes wrong, but that's all part of the fun, right? And hey, at least it keeps her from sitting in her room and going stir crazy. You wouldn't like Arilee when she's suffering from cabin fever.
Dancing -- We're not talking ballroom or ballet here (though her mother certainly enrolled her in those classes when she was a tyke). Arilee enjoys going out to whatever clubs will admit her, whenever she can. Once there, she will happily dance the night away, moving to her own beat and shaking what nature gave her.
Surf Punk -- Arilee is an avid and life-long fan of the Surf Punk music genre. At first it just started out as singing along with her father on road trips when he would play The Offspring. From there, her appreciation grew and she springboarded to groups like Sublime and The Dirty Heads. Arilee will religiously save up to go see live concerts and buy the occasional merch. Sometimes she goes with her dad, sometimes alone. But it is always something that brings her a lot of joy to the point where she’s been playing around with putting a band of her own together and just rocking out.
Cooking -- Arilee considers herself an enlightened eater. Everything organic, free-range and made fresh to order. Due to her particular tastes, she's taken to making use of whatever kitchen is available, whether it be at home or a friend’s place. Arilee's body is a temple, and that temple only wants the good s**t. And the best way of getting that s**t is simply through kitchen experiments. After all, cooking is just science for hungry people.
Pros:
Adventurous Virtue -- Whatever her faults, no one has ever been able to accuse Arilee of being afraid to try new things. It doesn't matter if it's food or a new boarding trick, she's willing to give it a go. And even more than trying the new things, Arilee loves to try the things that, to her knowledge, no one has ever tried to do before. Someday, she plans to do a cageless dive with a Great White and film it. Life's too short to not get out there and do things.
Confident Virtue -- It's a fine thing to feel completely happy and comfortable in your own skin, isn't it? Arilee sure thinks so. She has the attitude and the glow that come from being completely sure of herself and her choices in life. Sure, she might have a little more meat on her bones than some, and her teeth might be a little crooked in front, but there's nothing wrong with it. She knows her own worth and is more than happy to prove it. And to those skinny girls with the perfect tans and the perfect teeth whom she regularly beats out when it comes to the cute boys, she has some advice. Stop trying to be what Society thinks you should. Just be happy with who and what you are, enjoy yourself and stop worrying so much about whether or not that dress makes your a** look big.
Personal Integrity Virtue -- Arilee's morals and ethics come mostly from her mom. Because, let's face it, seeing your dad having a brief affair when you’re a kid is kind of NOT the best set of standards to hold yourself to. No, she much prefers to keep her integrity intact. She doesn't lie, cheat or steal. She's never cheated on any of her significant others. She will come right out and tell you what you can reasonably expect from her. If you ask her for help and it is help that doesn't go against her own ethics, she will do everything in her power to help you. She won't do anything that would result in someone or something totally innocent being harmed. She respects honesty and honor when she finds them and will treat those she comes into contact with accordingly. People she admires are treated with respect and deference. People she finds repugnant are shunted to the very bottom of her list of acquaintances. And if those ethics make her unpopular, that's the other person's problem. No regrets.
Cons:
Reckless Flaw -- Sure, Arilee is brave and willing to try everything at least once, but that doesn't mean that everything she's tried is a good idea. Like the time she went out surfing in a lightning storm. Or that time she went swimming, at night, without telling anyone where she was going and nearly drowned when the current caught her. Arilee is reckless with her own safety. Sure, she'll make all the right preparations for things, but she always, always ends up forgetting to do or bring something important that will help keep her safe. And you can bet that if she does that cageless dive, she will either: a) go into the water during her TotM or after cutting herself somehow, b) forget to bring her shock stick or shark repellant, c) forget to tell her safety spotters when she is going and go out there alone, or d) do her swim when there's a ******** colony of seals frolicking a few meters away from her.
Judgemental Flaw -- Having a personal code of ethics and honor is a good thing. But not necessarily when it is combined with a reckless and impulsive personality. Hi. Meet Arilee. She tends to form snap impressions of people that are nigh impossible to alter later. While this might be a seemingly small thing, those initial judgements color every interaction Arilee might have with people in the future. If she decides that you're a great person, you're golden. Arilee will excuse away any less than noble conduct as a fluke or something that circumstances sadly required at the time. If she decides you're terrible, well. Good luck ever getting her to think otherwise. A great example of this is her father’s one time fling. Due to the woman having engaged in an affair with Arilee’s father, she is forever classified as a lying, evil whore. The woman could become a nun, single-handedly solve world hunger, cure AIDS and create a lasting world peace. And none of that will ever change Arilee's mind once it has been made up to see her as a villain.
You know how the Red Cross uses little colored tags to identify who to help first in a disaster? Arilee does something like that in her head with every person she meets. Only it's not so much a disaster assistance rating as it is her passing a nigh everlasting, black-and-white judgement on people.
Overly Impulsive Flaw -- Arilee is not very good at waiting and planning things out fully. Typically, she will simply go do what she wants, when she wants. If she wants to go out dancing and it's already past curfew? She escapes through the window. Very little thought is put into her plans when she decides to do something. She simply looks for the best option and goes with it. Logic, rules and safety be damned. In terms of her everyday life, she will listen to the police rather more than say, a school official. She tries to obey the rules, but sometimes, the rules get in the way of her having a good time or properly doing her job. At these times, rules be damned. It's time to wing that mother. General Appearance
Eyes: Bright Orange-y Pink (think the color you get in really awesome sunrise/sets)
Hair: White-blonde, almost mid-back, tousled waves with an undercut on the left side
Face: Heart shaped face, average sized ears, typically has apricot colored lip gloss on.
Body: 5'11", 140-160 lbs, curvy but in good shape, fair skin with slight tan (she uses sunscreen regularly)
Other: Has multiple ear piercings in both ears as well as one eyebrow piercing, a dermal and a navel piercing. Sailor: Chariklo, Senshi of Seagulls
Attacks:
Sailor Scout Attack: Mobbing Call
Sailor Chariklo emits a harsh, squawking call accompanied by her target feeling as if they are being buffeted about the head by a large pair of wings. Able to perform three times per battle. The target will not be seriously injured, although feeling somewhat dazed is common. Only able to target one person at a time (within approx. 5ft. radius) and the attack duration is 15 seconds. Should target run, the attack will follow them for about 2 seconds.
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Mobbing Cry
Same as the above, only now the call seems to come from more than one throat and it feels as through a small swarm of wings are attacking. Able to perform three time per battle. The attack is now able to encompass 2 to 3 people if they are not standing too far apart (about a 10' radius). The targets now experience the sensation of being knocked silly and feeling as if they have painful bruising around the head and shoulders. Players may chose to have the effects of this magic last for longer than the duration if they would like to retain more serious damage. Also, the wings take on just the barest, tiniest shimmering definition of shape. Attack duration is now 20 seconds. Also, should the main target of the attack try to escape, the attack will follow them for about 5 seconds.
Eternal Sailor Attack: Mobbing Cacophony
Same as above. In addition to the swarm of buffeting wings, the target will now also feel as if they are being slashed and pecked at with beaks and talons. Able to perform once per battle and can encompass up to 5 people over a 20ft radius. The target will be able to see the shimmering outline of a wing or beak or taloned foot, but never a full shape. Bruising and deep, slashing wounds, again all aimed around the shoulders and head area are common effects. Attack duration is 30 seconds.
